As we know, there is a neighboring forum that is starting to get busy for some reason, and we can teleport the account there. So what happens if someone sells their account on a neighboring forum?
Nothing happens.
I dont think anyone would purchase accounts there now, but more interesting for me is what would happen if account gets hacked and stolen there.
Better to look all other forums and profiles there as completely separate from bitcointalk forum, and dont use messages for sharing important private information.

All teleporters account here have in their profile settings their account profile link on Altcoinstalk account so in case there is a hack of one's account on the other forum, his account here can verify that the account was hacked, both accounts are connected so the hacker needs to hack and control both account for him to control his accounts on Altcoinstalks, the admins of Altcoinstalks it seems are quick to address if the account was hacked.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

My head actually thinks otherwise, they won't close the shop as long as there are still people willing to buy it.

Actually, it's not too bad, because most websites are used to make a profit, in fact there are not many websites that voluntarily develop communities without profit interests, one of which is Bitcointalk, and not many others.
Yeah, there is no point to close it as long it brings money for you. And I doubt that there is such thing as desired amount. As long as money is coming, they will want for more.
Is everyone using altcoinstalks now?
Today it was probably first time when I visited this forum. As I understand it only become a thing just after mixer ban on Bitcointalk. Saw some familiar names from Bitcointalk, but I doubt that big part of active Bitcointalk members is active there. But damn, after you get used to Bitcointalk and lications of all boards here, it's difficult to find something on other forum.

IMO it's a who cares. What you, or someone pretending to be you, at ANY other forum does not matter.

Here regulates here and there regulates there. Lets assume I setup an account someplace else and I teleport my account there.
And never use it. And then for whatever reason it gets compromised. That account then does bad things.
But...I never used it and I don't care. Why should that matter to me here. If I then go in and remove the proof here that it was me there what does it matter?

Because:

1) The account was compromised and is was not me so who cares.
2) It was not compromised and it WAS me, but you can't prove it.

Either way, it's a there problem not a here problem.

-Dave

This is an interesting argument and I can definitely see your point.  The last thing we want is for people to get used to trusting a name regardless of what forum it is on.  Telegram is a good example.  I don't use it but am constantly asked about deals I'm supposedly escrowing.  I've even had people in this community get angry for things that I supposedly said on Telegram, which is odd when I know it wasn't even me...  Granted a teleported account is a little bit different because this account authorized it, but I can see your point that a reputation here stays here and doesn't go with the name to other sites.  I'm just not sure how I feel about it.  I guess everyone should always be careful and if you think you're talking to someone from here, do yourself a favor and talk to them through here.

We all know the forum you're referring to, this has to do with their own rule over there, if a teleported account got sold there, then that's at their own disposal to determine if doing such is against the rules or not, then what may affect the same account is if they share same information which seems to be a pirate copy of each other, what I mean here is if you plagiarize to the other forum, your account here and there may be unsafe, tagged or banned, I don't how vast the scam and spam burster are there, but the likes of Gazetabitcoin and others there could help a little in fishing out those involved from the other forum.

Sorry but you're in no position to make this kind of judgment.

Nobody had ever heard of that forum before the mixer ban here. They are clearly capitalizing on a one-off deal to its fullest extent. The whole thing reeks of opportunism.

If you feel like spending money for a chance to make money is worth it, fine, but don't come crying here after you realize you got scammed.
I think you got me wrong, I wasn't saying that someone should purchase from their shop to shift out their trust ratings on that forum but I was basically trying to say that those who might find it useful for them to move their trust then they can do that. It's someone's own choice not mine.

Even, I haven't visited or heard about that forum before mixer ban but now I'm active on that forum and many others are also active there. They are getting many members on their forum and many mixers are moving their campaigns on that forum. I don't think that scamming others would help them at all because they will be making some good amount of money from advertising. However, I'm not advocate of that forum and that's why I won't take any responsibility.

Even though you did not mention name I know three or four popular forums in the net. CryptoForumTalk.org and altcoinstalks etc. And altcoinstalks is more popular these days and it is the latest forum that is getting more busy so even though you didn't mention name I suspect that it is the altcoinstalks. And from your question, I think if the neighboring forum permit to sell your teleported account then you can do that and I know that you are asking this question because of the graphology of the two forum and the writing will be mainly analyse in this forum. Well for my observation, another person can use someone username here to register for another forum so that has nothing to do with people over here. As it is someone can use theymos over there and that username will not have nothing to do with bitcointalk even though the writings are different, DT will do otherwise because the person like the username and he uses it there. I think there is a username there that is called jokers and we also have that the same username here as well but they are different people. But in normal sense it is not good to sell account in that forum if you teleported because it will reduce your reputation and trust because whatever happens to that account, it will affect the account here but it is fresh users registration with the same user then there is nothing wrong. But if you know that you can't work in the both sides then there is no need to teleport your account to that side.

Granted a teleported account is a little bit different because this account authorized it, but I can see your point that a reputation here stays here and doesn't go with the name to other sites.  I'm just not sure how I feel about it.
If you trust a person here, I don't see why it should be different elsewhere if that same person can prove to you the account on Altcoinstalk is also them. If Bitcointalk goes offline one day, the reputation you built here should speak some volume. You shouldn't blindly trust anyone, but it's still something to keep in mind.

Hi guys,

As usual I have something that makes me curious even though it's actually not important. But I will respect your opinion even with a little ridicule. lol  Cheesy

As we know, there is a neighboring forum that is starting to get busy for some reason, and we can teleport the account there. So what happens if someone sells their account on a neighboring forum? Maybe it hasn't happened yet, but someday it might happen when the neighbor forum becomes bigger than it is now. (I mean selling teleport accounts from bitcointalk accounts)

I think this will be related to trust and whether there needs to be a cross-forum DT policy? It sounds crazy, but the thought was actually in my head

Sorry I didn't mention the name of the forum and used the word “neighbor”, but I'm sure you understand what I mean

If you have an account there you already know the answer they have different rules there, and you need to declare that you have an alternative account there if they catch you they will mark both accounts duplicates and they can easily trace that because all SMF panels have their IP and location recorded, so in case there is a selling of account the admin of that forum will intervene and flag those accounts.

The teleported account on another forum is an extension of who you are and what you have done here in Bitcointalk, you are responsible for transmitting your reputation elsewhere as long as you verify it here, so bro if you have a teleported account there before doing a transaction there I will check and verify it here because it emanates here, so far based on my observation on Altcoinstalk all teleported members there are doing what they're doing it and that's why Altcoinstalk is doing good.
