He was sentenced to a 1 year suspended sentence so unfortunately - no jail time this time.

he was basically put on 2 years probation(court order) to not commit any crimes in the UK jurisdiction, or else face then having to spend 12 months in prison for this breach, plus whatever time added on for the further crime itself aswell

however if he spends 2 years in asia at his wifes ancestral location and does crimes(false claims) there, or other countries.. he wont be breaching the UK court order thus he can still be a scum bag during the next 2 years and not face UK prison time even if he continues to slapp lawsuit people from asia

Maybe Craig Wright made one crucial mistake because he didn't go into politics first before announcing that he created something... because politicians are allowed to lie all the time and they never go to prison for that Wink

Any bets that he keeps up and eventually will have to serve time? https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2024/dec/19/craig-wright-man-who-falsely-claimed-to-be-bitcoin-creator-sentenced-for-continuing-to-sue-developers

Wright refused to show up in person.. so maybe the court was not imposing the actual prison because they were having trouble getting physical custody over Wright, and if Wright is still cooperating by attending by video conference, then the court might be reluctant to actually impose the prison sentence... He also ONLY has two weeks to pay his £145k fine.

I doubt that. They could just give actual prison time and then issue warrant/wanted notice either on country level or international level if faketoshi doesn't want to enter UK legally and got arrested voluntary.

Well hopefully he does. I wonder if not paying the new 250k fine will find him foul of it. One thing is I don't think he will ever set foot in the UK again, much like Australia. I wonder what country he is actually in in Asia. I think there's only a few countries in the world that don't have extradition treaties with the UK so he shouldn't be safe there. My main hope is that the Australian Tax Office will actually get their finger out and file a warrant for his arrest.

Looking at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/extradition-processes-and-review, UK have such treaties with 146 territories (where not all of them classified as country). There are fair amount of country is Asia which isn't listed on that webpage such as Cambodia and Japan.

Dr Bitcoin podcast update on the contempt charges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bzaRloj6XE

Justice Mellor asked what country Craig was in and Craig replied "Asia". Dr Mellor told him Asia isn't a country  Grin.

They mentioned on the podcast that extradition is usually only reserved for very serious crimes so it's likely that will never happen unless he breaches his conditions. They could probably put an arrest warrant out for him still though and he'd get nabbed at an airport. I wonder if Justice Mellor may have given him a jail sentence had he actually been in court and not just appearing via video link.

He was sentenced to a 1 year suspended sentence so unfortunately - no jail time this time.

Where is Craig's wife from? She's Asian - maybe Thailand or something. Wherever she's from that's probably the more likely.

Maybe Craig Wright made one crucial mistake because he didn't go into politics first before announcing that he created something... because politicians are allowed to lie all the time and they never go to prison for that Wink

He can't even win his case regarding on his claims how much more for wining a position in politics. Also even if he became a public official its still hard to prove that he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto since people will still ask for evidence and same as what happen he cannot produce a solid evidence so his claims still nothing even if he became a politician.

Craig Wright deserves that punishment and that serves as a lesson that he cannot easily claim that he is the real Satoshi just like that.

Now let see if this sentence will totally shut his mouth and stop his nonsense claims.

Where is Craig's wife from? She's Asian - maybe Thailand or something.

singapore is her claimed nationality
before sentencing hearing, when he tried to use a medical excuse not to attend(before blaming financial inability) he said he intended to spend christmas in indonesia

as for extradition treaty.. singapore only allows extradition for crimes of more than 12 months.. so although there is a treaty, the possibility that a extradition would be granted if he done scummy things, would be low as his sentence is basically the cut off line. he would need to be found guilty of a new crime that adds more time to then trigger an acceptable extradition
(the court should have agreed with COPA's advised desire of a 18month prison sentence)

..

the funniest thing about this latest contempt of court sentencing is that COPA offered to pay his plane flight to come back to the UK to be sentanced, because CSW claimed he does not have the financial means to afford his own travel arrangements back to the UK..
very funny for a guy whom claims he is a successful business man managing millions of dollars and multiple businesses

the scumback actually had the audacity to say coming to the UK for sentencing hearing would lose him business to the tune of 6 months of business operations of £40k/month meaning he requested £240k to return to the UK
