It's a cryptocurrency that could potentially give you more upside knowing there's a non-zero chance that an Ethereum ETF can be approved in the future.

With that said, as anything that could give you more upside, the downside is bigger as well. Also taking note that in the smart contact niche, Solana has gained decent market share because of the far cheaper fees and the cosmos ecosystem is starting to get heated up as well. Hence the long-term success of Ethereum is not as certain as Bitcoin's.

In the end though, wanting more potential profit isn't necessarily bad. Just make sure to practice proper risk management.

ethereum is indeed the best altcoin choice at the moment, but we can see the obstacles to eth such as costs and l1 scalability, it can already compete with other projects, but still, nothing can beat eth.
but for now, i avoid trade using eth layer1 because fee is very high.

If it is about how profitable any cryptocurrency will be then I will say all altcoins will be profitable than bitcoin if only we look at the the potential the price increase has base on volatility rate. Bitcoin has grown over the years to be less volatile and the price surge is little, you can’t hardly see bitcoin do a 5x in just one bull run but Altcoins have the ability to do that. But in terms of profitability I also analyze also the risk involve and we all know that the volatility that allow Altcoins to massively push up also affects them negatively.

On the altcoin angle Ethereum has done well but not like bitcoin it is currently facing a heavy competition from other networks that support smart contracts like Solana blockchain. The Solana blockchain is almost similar to Ethereum and even better in terms of transaction fee and speed.

Also people anticipating about the price surge after SEC clearance are just doing that base on speculation, the same way that ETF was hyped to increase bitcoin price it will also affect Ethereum too most likely if it’s ETF also gets approved. But don’t because of this go into risk investment of Ethereum, because its price changes is definitely too tricky and mostly follows only on bitcoin trend. This is the right time to be bullish about ETH because potential ETH ETF approval is on the horizon and speculators can push the price up by suspecting a possible ETF approval. I think ETH is still underperforming Bitcoin's performance for the last few months. The way the bitcoin price pumped from 28k to 45k ETH, I haven't seen anything like that till now. So i am expecting a similar rally from ETH as well due to the potential ETF approval scenario.

Ethereum is the best coin to invest nowadays cause like bitcoin we can make a good profit in the future. These coins is for long term investment and yes Ethereum is the second good coins in the world of crypto. But maybe ethereum will reach 10k in the near future and if that will happen then many investors makes profits cause the majority of investors nowadays are they are buying ethereum cause they will know that they can make a good profits .

In my opinion, everyone sees eheterum as the right investment place after bitcoin. Ethereum has the best potential in the list of altcoins, now many big investors have bought ethereum as a digital asset of the future, the popularity of ethereum has really guaranteed that as time goes by the price of ethereum continues to rise.
when the first halving occurred in 2017, the price of ethereum was only around 10 million and below, so the rapid development of bitcoin became increasingly widespread and several countries also legalized it as a transaction tool until ethereum also reached a new ATH in 2019 of up to 60 million, ethereum altcoin is right and suitable for investment long-term.

other than BTC, ETH is the 2nd choice of crypto investors. this i think is very obvious already for someone who has been in crypto for a time. you can spot the choices based on ranks and they are also the measure of popularity.

ETH is an L1 project, the first i think in crypto and also the easiest they say to use for tokenizing a project. if the ETF off ETH is approved i think it will really go up all the way dragging the prices of tokens to their ATH. if you hold a good ERC token i guess you can hope for the value to go moon.

Regarding Ethereum coin #2, there is more interest because there are more new narratives about altcoins that will come in their ecosystem, even now there is a 404 token I am still looking for info about this because it has become a hype.

You don't need to hesitate when investing in Ethereum but in terms of profits beyond bitcoin we never know and how much entry when you buy when it is still low.

Ethereum is the best altcoin I can always think about.if I am going for altcoins Etherium will always be in my portfolio.  Ethereum is a fast growing coin in the market,  it is doing well  in the market but I would not consider Ethereum to be better than Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is more reliable and as the first cryptocurrency I can give it a trust. I think other cryptocurrencies are only trying to be like Bitcoin. Ethereum is a good one but I can't compare it with bitcoin.

There are plenty of other threads about it but I think there are other platforms that will eventually take over the volume of eth.  Gas tends to be too high in times of price appreciation.  I think it has a lot of backers because like bitcoin it has the advantage of being a first mover.  But there are flaws which other platforms will iron out and eventually take over.

Those people who are saying that they can earn more with Ethereum aren't just for Ethereum, it's also with any other altcoins in the market and you can't stop them from saying that so because their justification is Bitcoin's expensive for everybody nowadays.

What's the charge about SEC? The security thing? It's no longer a problem that must be thought of.

For me, Ethereum is like Bitcoin, its status says a lot, everything that happens next with Ethereum will only help it continue to be at the peak of popularity, the Ethereum team is not sitting idle, but is also at work and improving their project. Holding Ethereum for growth is always a good idea.

That’s true, the top altcoin is doing something big to remain on top and they have to do it continuously or else other project will take over. I still see ETH to be on top when the bull comes and holding it now is not a loss for sure, though I think ETH have to be more competitive on updating their system especially solving the high fees, investors might ignore ETH in the future if the fees remains expensive.

To me, I think eth should be a forgotten blockchain by now, i don't see it's worth except for high trx fees which is totally against crypto ethics to provide a cheap and decentralized solution against fiat.
Ethereum should be valued base on utility and imo no sane person will integrate eth as an alternative payment option when we have cheaper and faster l2 blockchain around.

It amazes me how eth still remain at the top, besides speculation and artificial price pump I don't see why it should continue to exist or why projects should hold it on high esteem.

I am honestly baffled how it's possible at apparently custodial holding of third party like Prometheum, that hold eth for their users makes eth a security? That's absurd. Have they heard what binance and many other services does? They even gave rewards for staking them? But i guess everything is different when exchanges are in us. I always seen this cex staking as questionable service and legally very much gray area, but this is just stupid. But i am assuming this is just a byproduct of laws that are not keeping up with the tech.

When you invest in Ethereum just because you’ll make a lot of profit in its investments than when invested in bitcoin, I will just say one should go for altcoins. Altcoins other than Ethereum are much more proven far better to make one a lot of profit than the Ethereum you are talking about. If you check the past bull runs that have take place, most of this reputable coins with a long term future are not the top ones that make investors a lot of money. The most altcoins in this category of hype and dump are the ones that make the most profit during the bull run and not the ones you mentioned.

I do understand the logic behind that. Since ethereum is relatively cheaper than bitcoin, they could acquire more right now and then gain bigger profit later on however choosing which altcoin to invest in requires not only considering the profit one can gain but also how can one utilize the coin.

Some people tend to think that bitcoin is a much better coin in terms of utilization. Bitcoin has high transaction fees and so do ethereum, even higher sometimes. I think it would be best if one were to acquire both. This will allow for more diversification of your portfolio as well.

I agree that investing in Ethereum can be more profitable than investing in Bitcoin because it is easier for Ethereum price to double than for that of Bitcoin to double. I believe both of them will eventually worth even more than 2 times their current value but Ethereum can get there faster.

Also, note that the price of Ethereum is not in anyway proportional to that of Bitcoin. So anyone saying that when Bitcoin will be $100k, Ethereum will be $10k is just saying it out of their imagination.
