I think forums are not the only place to learn about Bitcoin or Crypto. In the age of the internet, it is not difficult to learn anything. I think we all come together on forums to share our little knowledge with others and increase our knowledge. Isn't that right?

You can learn a lot from the internet, there is a lot of information on the internet about Bitcoin. But in this forum you can learn more in depth than on the internet. Much of the information you'll find scattered around the internet on these forums is in race-aligned or disciplined form. Few of us use Google as a means of information exchange. Most of the times we take knowledge from internet, it is not possible to verify it.

But we exchange knowledge related to Bitcoin in this forum, through which we can receive, give and verify knowledge. We can verify the knowledge obtained from any other medium from the internet and get the correct information. I find this forum a wealth of knowledge.

Personally, I believe there is a lot to learn in this forum more easily than the internet because the forum have several boards and suboards on various discussions on bitcoin. However, one thing that I know you cannot learn easily and do it rightly in the beginning is investing in bitcoin, because many of us was guided on how to invest in bitcoin in this forum in a way that if we stick to, we would benefit from our bitcoin investment in future and not run at loss.

Everything this thread is talking about on bitcoin investment cannot be gotten easily from the internet and thank God for brilliant bitcoin OG investors like JJG, that has being around the forum to teach and put new bitcoin investors through on how to start their bitcoin investment with the righy strategy and also motivating you to get started easily. I think if you ask me the best thing that I have gained for being a member here after the knowledge is that I am on my bitcoin investment journey which I will not stop buying till I reach my bitcoin target.

I wouldn't have known and understand how to use the three bitcoin accumulation strategy which is DCA, lump sum and buy at dip at the right time. Maybe, I might be doing the wrong thing if not for this forum. Knowing the best self custody wallet to use for your bitcoin and how to keep your bitcoin safe is also easy learning from here, because there is room for discussions and ask questions.

Everyone probably has different strategies for learning about Bitcoin and Bitcoin investing. Many people try to learn about investing on google or YouTube. But they probably don't get the same idea about investing on Google and YouTube as they do on this Bitcoin forum. This bitcoin forum explains bitcoin investing in a way that many inexperienced investors can easily understand.

Spend some of your precious time on the thread you are on now, Also one more important thread Buy the DIP, and HODL! spend some precious time on this thread, maybe you will learn the basics you need to know about investing in just a few posts. The more you read the posts in these threads the more you will learn and know about Bitcoin investing. By reading the posts in these threads you will understand investment more easily than by watching investment related articles and videos on Google or YouTube.

Well said, everyone has more or less basic knowledge about Bitcoin before registering on the forum. Maybe many people think that newbies register with little knowledge but actually many newbies are found to be very experienced about Bitcoin. As Bitcoin is a huge topic, I think everyone from seniors to newbies in the forum should study the topic of Bitcoin properly and create an environment for newbies to come forward in the forum so that even newbies can reach the pinnacle of Bitcoin discussions.

The things you said are indeed very common in this forum so you can read all the topics in this forum and you will definitely find everyone who gives advice through any discussion including discussions about Bitcoin itself. In addition, what you said about knowledge is also true because there are many people outside this forum who already understand about Bitcoin so that they can continue to use that knowledge at any time or in every cycle and market trend so that they can generate more profits through Bitcoin without having to enter this forum. But those who already understand about Bitcoin and have entered this forum to discuss with more people about Bitcoin, I think it will be much more complete for them because here there is also a lot of knowledge that can be gained by everyone through more discussions.
That's right, Bitcoin is indeed growing and also increasingly popular on the internet, on social media, on television and wherever people can easily get basic knowledge and so on related to Bitcoin and get involved.
However, it would be better if they were involved in this forum, because this forum is filled with people who have been in this industry for a long time who are very experienced and also great, who have high knowledge and also good suggestions that you might not be able to get out there.
And this forum is very useful and can also develop those who already have knowledge about Bitcoin very well, and we can learn how to be a proper investor and also a good way to get good profits from Bitcoin. And besides that we can get additional income according to the existing expertise and here it also teaches us about good and responsible financial literacy and also learns a lot about methods or strategies in investing to be more perfect.
Actually there are still many good and extraordinary benefits according to my experience and what I get here, but it is difficult to describe them all because there are so many, which I will not be able to get or find out there. And I also learn a lot from Mr. JJG, even though I don't really follow him, but I always read what he says to everyone and everything is good, correct and also makes sense.

Buddy preach Bitcoin though not with persuasion or force, I don't know about any other coin you are referring to, we don't care about any other over hyped shitty stuff here, people that understand bitcoin invesmnet knows the concepts and if you do, you would have prefer to enlighen newbies on the need to invest in Bitcoin continuously with the amount they can afford steadily without minding the priec at all time and hodl for a long-term instead of sounding discouraging at the conclusion of your piece of writing.
He is a newbie and I don't think he should even be allowed to enlighten anybody with the shabby information available to him and his unwillingness or insensitivity to take correction thereby continue referring to bitcoin as crypto despite being called to order many times on the obvious fuckup of mixing the two terms together. What people like him needs now the most is to continue learning and upgrading his knowledge on bitcoin and probably add practical involvement to it by accumulating in whatever quantities he can with his available discretionary income.

According to your profile info, you where registered on this forum on the 7th of February 2024 which is bearly 9 months and yet you are calling Another user a newbie, except there is something you are not explain here. Yeah actually you might be making sense in your explanation of correcting someone to use the word bitcoin instead of crypto but reffearing another user as newbie while you are one, thus makes you look different or smartter than another while you are not. I will advise you stick to your explanation than using that word newbie.

Bro, 9 months is enough for anyone to access the knowledge in this thread and understand what Bitcoin is all about, both of them are Newbies but the difference is that one have a clear understanding that someone shouldn't be dishing out advise on what they don't know about, moreover the fact that someone is a newbie doesn't make them ignorant about things on here especially Bitcoin, some are just here to broaden their knowledge about it and get to understand it better, for instance I knew about Bitcoin before I joined the forum but it helped me understand it better, to know it's concepts and how to go about it, that's just it. Moreover what he's saying is right anyways, instead of coming on here to teach what you don't know it's better for people to take their time to learn and get more knowledge and understanding and for your info two people could be classmates but one would definitely be smarter than the other.

Your explanation is okay because for the fact that you are in same platform with someone doesn't mean you both are equal in knowledge or understanding, like I always say that we can not judge the experience of people by merely looking at the stage of their rank or when they registered in the forum because there are some people who came into the forum with pre-existing knowledge they've already got about Bitcoin so such user can enlighten others about what he knows and understands about Bitcoin investments. That not withstanding, people should only teach about something they know perfectly about Bitcoin and not mislead others or saying contradictory words why trying to make or prove a point. Bitcoin is a vast subject so anyone who is into Bitcoin should know that they have a lot to learn than teach.
It's not only to study the topic but take advantage of the little knowledge that you have grabbed and start your bitcoin investment journey so that you can learn more with experience. It's not by discussing alone but also putting into action what you have learned. A time will come that bitcoin price will be very high and those people who didn't make use of the opportunity they have now to invest after knowing that bitcoin is a good investment will regret later.

This is why I am telling you that if you haven't started your bitcoin investment, take your time and figure out how much is your discretionary income from your monthly income, and then use part of your discretionary income to start buying bitcoin right away witb DCA every week for 4-10 years and above, and you wouldn't believe the quantity of bitcoin that you have accumulated overtime.

If you don't have an income, look for a job or a means of income, so that you can plan and invest for your future with bitcoin.

Well there is no doubt that you can learn about bitcoin in other places but believe me you this the best place anyone can ever think of learning bitcoin without you been mislead, we have in this forum members with wealth of experience and knowledge in bitcoin accumulation who will guide you on how to go about your bitcoin without this forum majority may have believing that the best way to make profit from  bitcoin is through short term trading.so learning about bitcoin on your own through youtube will be far stressful, in this forum is just like you are in a class room and you are free to ask questions about any bitcoin related discussion that you don't understand

I think forums are not the only place to learn about Bitcoin or Crypto. In the age of the internet, it is not difficult to learn anything. I think we all come together on forums to share our little knowledge with others and increase our knowledge. Isn't that right?
What we should be talking about here is Bitcoin and not crypto there are other places that you could freely discuss about crypto definitely not here, if you are talking about Bitcoin then you could just have use the term Bitcoin but it seems you don't understand what you are talking about because inside crypto we have Bitcoin and other coin such as shitcoins so it could be better you say Bitcoin or shitcoins instead of saying Bitcoin or crypto which make no sense to me you should try and figure out the difference between Bitcoin and shitcoin.

There are different ways we can learn about Bitcoin and trading if we actually want to learn. It is either we learn from a physical teacher or online. It can be quite difficult and expensive leaning from a physical teacher because that can be some how expensive depending on where we want to get the skill. There are so many videos online we can watch and learn how to trade and invest in the crypto market gradually. Sometimes we keep seeing newbies asking about what altcoins they should buy that will give them profits within a certain period of time. Some persons still lack the understanding of the crypto market that is why they will keep asking questions over and over again. It is good we keep acquiring knowledge about trading and investment from people that had been in the business for years so that we don't keep making silly mistakes.

Just like you did @xbartoni, anyone can participate in any thread that he wishes (once he has registered an account).

The level of knowledge and/or experience of each  person is going to vary, so they can choose which threads in which to participate and also choose if they believe that they want to contribute.

Most likely almost anyone would have some abilities to participate, yet they might have writing difficulties and they also might need to consider if their participation is adding anything helpful to the conversation, so sometimes it might be better for newbies to read more and post less, yet there are still some newbies who are quite capable of jumping into the conversation,  which also might include that they have identified an issue or they have a way of saying something (or a perspective) that adds to the discussion of the topic. Or maybe they read through a thread that has 2 or 3 pages, and they have some questions that they want to ask about the topic or about one or more of the posts.  Contributions can come in a variety of ways and from a variety of experiential/knowledge levels, and we also get better at posting with experience (or at least it seems to be the case).

Sometimes also we are able to learn more from interacting rather than just reading, and our interaction adds value to others who are reading and sometimes may even inspire others to write a post rather than just reading the posts of others.

Sometimes we will also say dumb things, and we might not always know that they are dumb at the time that we post them, and it is better that we try to improve our style and to do some work to clarify our posts, yet in the end, it is still up to each of us to decide how much work to put into our posts, and other members might get mad at us if we are frequently writing really dumb posts, yet members will also tend to have tolerance for some posts being dumb, so we don't necessarily need to get too overly preoccupied about appearing dumb, since if we are actually trying to improve our posts and improve our ideas, it is  likely we will get better with practice, and even long term members will say some dumb things from time to time, including this here cat.

To help with too much dumbness, frequently it can be helpful to attempt to verify some of the facts or maybe look up a topic if you are not sure if you are speaking accurately, or maybe read through another members post a few extra times or maybe read an article on the topic (or even looking up something on Google or wikipedia) can be helpful to ensure that we are not saying things that are really inaccurate and would make us look even dumber if we say them as if they are true when they are not...

Sometimes we can explain why we have a certain conclusion by describing fact a, b  and c leads me to believe in conclusion x and y.  So if we explain how we arrived at our conclusion, at least some other member might be able to see why we are making a mistake, in the event that we end up being wrong in one or more of our conclusions... or maybe we got our facts wrong, or we failed to account for facts d and e.

These are all good points, and I would imagine that most likely you learned a lot more from your bitcoin investment once you got started and once you started to apply the ideas of investment to your own circumstances, so in that sense, when you read some investment related ideas that seemed to make sense, you might not have had really understood the ideas very well until you put them into practice in your own life circumstances.  After you put some of them into practice, they started to make more sense, and also you started to both come up with your own ideas that you could share with other forum members, and some of those ideas/practices may well have had ended up playing out as your own tailorized approach that even you ended up understanding that it was your own variation of an approach that some other members might have to employ in a slightly different way in order to be at a similar level of benefits to them.

For example, maybe you started out investing into bitcoin, and you were not exactly clear about how much discretionary income you had and how your cashflow had quite a few irregularities during each month, so in the beginning you thought that you might only be able to buy bitcoin once or twice a month; however, after several months of DCAing into bitcoin and organizing your cashflow and your expenses in a more monitored kind of a way, you began to realize that there was a way that you could make sure that you held aside a budget so that you could invest a certain amount of dollar value into bitcoin every week, so long as certain cashflow and/or expense matters were at a certain level, and sure through months and months and months of applying your own practices, you then start to figure out ways to identify extra money that you have coming into your cashflow from time to time, and to then be able to treat that extra cashflow as a kind of bonus amount that you are able to  invest into bitcoin and/or into your back up funds, yet prior to practicing, you would have had never been able to identify such extra cash and you likely would have had been way less efficient with how you allocated extra money that had come into your cashflow.

So my point is that ongoing practice helps to facilitate learning, and then as we practice, we can also come back to this forum (or various related threads), and we might either describe what we did in order to even learn from our explaining what we did to others who might be going through some similar kinds of balancing challenges and also challenges in terms of being able to identify whether they have enough money to buy bitcoin by recognizing the difference between discretionary income and income that they may well need to hold aside for their expenses, even though the expenses might not be arriving for a couple of weeks into the future, yet the money still might be considered  as a kind of float money that is already needed for expenses and cannot be used until the expenses are identified and paid first... so the money may have differing categories, and we might not have had realized that the money has different categories until we spend time practicing putting the money into such categories, even if we are only doing it in our head or maybe we are writing it on paper or maybe we are using some kind of a spreadsheet (such as Excel).

Yes, this forum is not the only place to learn about the world of crypto or bitcoin. Because in this sophisticated era, it is certainly not difficult to find information about Bitcoin or crypto, such as on YouTube or Google. However, in my personal opinion, the BTT forum can be said to be the information center for the world of crypto and bitcoin. Because how could it not be, this forum was created by the creator of bitcoin himself, namely Satoshi. So from the beginning Bitcoin as the first cryptocurrency was launched by Satoshi, this forum became Satoshi's main medium for discussion. Therefore, it is not surprising that the BTT forum, for example, is mentioned as a source of knowledge about bitcoin and crypto. Because you also need to know that in this forum we get knowledge about bitcoin or crypto from the direct experience of the members here. So you can be sure that the knowledge gained from this forum will be better than articles written by news sites. Therefore, I personally consider that this forum is the main source of knowledge to further deepen knowledge about crypto and bitcoin. Because I have been involved in the world of bitcoin and crypto investment for several years, almost 90% of my knowledge comes from this forum.

We are in a bitcoin section of the forum and you want to talk about bitcoin and crypto?   Surely I will admit that OP in this thread is also vague in terms of whether he is referring to trading or if he is referring to bitcoin or something else.. but still who gives any shits about crypto..?

There are no needs to talk about shitcoins in a bitcoin section of the forum unless you specifically have the thread about some shitcoin related topic or how some shitcoin might relate to bitcoin.  Otherwise, if you are juxtaposing the terms bitcoin and crypto, it seems that perhaps you either don't know what is bitcoin or you have some kind of an inability to talk about bitcoin by itself, and so in that regard are you being vague like the OP on purpose or perhaps you really don't know the difference between bitcoin and crypto?

Another possibility could be that you are trying to sound smarter by trying to make some kind of theoretical suggestion that bitcoin is just one of many cryptos, and so then suggest the whole forum is bitcoin and shitcoins... which truly is bullshit to the extent that idea is not only vague but it is also misleading, especially since we cannot even know which other shitcoins you might be referring to and maybe you are wanting to bring up some other nonsense about some of the various shitcoins being less shitty than other shitcoins, which also is taking us away from bitcoin as a topic or being able to use more clear language in terms of what it is that we are talking about, and here we remain in a bitcoin area of the thread with OP making some vague reference to some "coin", yeet at the same time there seems to be little purpose in throwing in the nonsense term crypto each time you say bitcoin with a kind of implication that you are being smarter because you are being more inclusive in your broader discussion of the topic of both bitcoin and crypto at the same time, which still is vague at best, but more likely misleading to the extent that it is relevant at all.

Another thing is that many of us likely realize that various shitcoins are affinity scams upon bitcoin, so they purposefully use vague terms like crypto to suggest that they are all just one happy family, so that helps to suck people into shitcoins rather than making sure that they know bitcoin first - before getting lured into shitcoins.

YouTube or google about bitcoin investment can be useful just to get an idea and there you can learn how to buy and get high profit and they mostly talk about short term trading. In terms of investment, you will get very limited knowledge about how you can build a holding for the long term and give guidelines regarding the right buying level, which is not enough.

The guideline that JJG continues to provide for acquiring the right knowledge of Bitcoin and its investments is definitely effective and timely for every investor, especially the discretionary income component and backup fund required for long-term investment success. All investment strategies with emphasis on single buying decisions and real assets while applying real funds.

Also to succeed in investing with alternative income systems regardless of cost the constant DCA strategy can be ideal strategy for people of every income with the potential to get huge holdings. From my experience, I mainly get the right idea about investing from these threads and apply the investment strategy myself.

It can be quite difficult and expensive leaning from a physical teacher because that can be some how expensive depending on where we want to get the skill.

When people is talking about spending money or paying someone to teach them Bitcoin always sounds ridiculous because learning about Bitcoin is a thing that shouldn't cost a dime from somebody, however is not even everything somebody will depend on people to teach them especially Bitcoin because everything is well explain online both the processes, so why pay someone to teach you when you don't have a limited access to internet, though I'm not of the impression that having someone to tutor you is bad but if it involves the person to pay an amount to have the Bitcoin investment knowledge then I don't support it because is not a difficult something and besides there are people who can teach you without expecting anything in return.

The more you read the posts in these threads the more you will learn and know about Bitcoin investing. By reading the posts in these threads you will understand investment more easily than by watching investment related articles and videos on Google or YouTube.

Well, apart from that there are people who likes to learn in a hard way and there are also people who likes learning in a cool way, learning in the hard way is you teaching yourself through online videos which off cause sometimes could be a bit confusing because of the terminology they will use to explain or make a reference while those who learn in a soft way are those people who  wants to sit down comfortably and watch someone explain to them physically and they have the money to pay for the lectures. The difference between these two set of person is that, the one that is been tutor physically will always have good knowledge and will be more familiar with some tools and secondly they are free to ask questions immediately if they don't understand anu particular thing or step and the time it will take someone learning physical to grasp will be very small compared to someone learning online. Asking question on what alt is good to invest, to me is not  lack of knowledge and secondly no one knows the alt that will do well in short interval or future, some people have an alt to invest in their mind but sometimes they just ask to see if the person will mention same alt as his or her choice.

I think forums are not the only place to learn about Bitcoin or Crypto. In the age of the internet, it is not difficult to learn anything. I think we all come together on forums to share our little knowledge with others and increase our knowledge. Isn't that right?

Well said, and I want to add that it's not all about learning about Bitcoin but learning the right things, it is the right information that would make one's investment journey go smoothly, there are people who learn the wrong things on the Internet and that's why they come here to give wrong informations about Bitcoin, it's what they were thought and if they were thought the right things they won't be making errors, that's to say that the difference between someone with good knowledge and understanding about Bitcoin and someone that doesn't is good information, for instance Mr A has good knowledge and understanding about Bitcoin while Mr B doesn't, if you gift them Bitcoin to invest with, Mr A would definitely Hodl and even add more to what you gifted him for a long-term cause he knows and understands the concepts of Bitcoin investment but Mr B could probably sell to take profits or involve in trading and gambling with his Bitcoin to make more profits which is wrong, that's to say the difference between them is good informations and that's why I said it's not only about learning about Bitcoin but learning the right things about it.

Also to succeed in investing with alternative income systems regardless of cost the constant DCA strategy can be ideal strategy for people of every income with the potential to get huge holdings. From my experience, I mainly get the right idea about investing from these threads and apply the investment strategy myself.
These threads and people that starts it and JJG that gives suggestion and thoughts about the matter of importance of DCA and other investing techniques are very helpful to those that are just searching on the web and trying to think what they are up to. People paying some amount to learn about bitcoin is an individual choice, so surely nothing is wrong with that, provided the person find it easier and convenient to learn it on a one on one class. as each an every individual have our Level of understanding, So surely some people are slow and or Wimpy in understand things, and find it more better/convenient when they are thought physically and repeatedly until they learn properly. So they can later comprehend after having primary knowledge of it. Actually some folks don do anything for free including teaching someone about bitcoin. Yes agreed but this is the place where it all started and I think that there is a reason why this place existed. Even Satoshi Nakamoto has an account in this place because he knew that this is the place to get credible and reliable information and knowledge about bitcoin. You can learn about bitcoin in YouTube and wherever, but it can never be the same as the way it will be in this place. Here you have access to different people contributing their knowledge about bitcoin and most of these people don't have YouTube channels. So if you rely on YouTube alone, you will miss out on their wealth of knowledge.

Mind you most of the guys you see posting and talking about bitcoin in YouTube do come here copy contents to post and talk about in their channels. Like it or not, there will be a big difference between the person who dedicate his time to learn about bitcoin here in this forum, and someone who rely on YouTube and other means to learn about bitcoin. Here you can always ask question whenever you have any or confused about a particular subject and you will get answers from different people who are more knowledgeable about your questions. But in those other places like YouTube you don't have that opportunity to ask any questions. Here is more like an interactive session with others.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

Without any other source of income, one should start having himself some source before following these good techniques and investing style that have been suggested not just on this thread but also in every other thread that someone can find through the forum.

I agree that it is problematic when anyone gets into bitcoin and they speculate that they are going to generate income through BTC, and surely it tends to take a long time to figure out some techniques that are profitable in trading, and most likely it is way better to build up BTC holdings through investment techniques prior to even trying to trade, yet if someone is trading, then they should limit their trading to ONLY less than 10% of their BTC holdings, and make sure that they are able to generate income from their trading before giving up other sources of income -and truly there are some traders who may well make money on their trading for several years, and then all of a sudden they get blown out of their position, which may end up showing that they really did not know what they were doing, even though they had assessed themself as knowing what they were doing.

If a person spends 4 years or more building his bitcoin holdings, then perhaps he might consider trading or ways that he might earn income off of his bitcoin holdings, yet even that could be problematic if the BTC stash is not of a sufficiently adequate size.

There are different ways we can learn about Bitcoin and trading if we actually want to learn. It is either we learn from a physical teacher or online. It can be quite difficult and expensive leaning from a physical teacher because that can be some how expensive depending on where we want to get the skill.

If I where some dudes Maybe I will have equally charged him some bulks for wasting my fucking time repeating myself.

Sometimes it can be difficult to know where to put up the borders, exactly, since so many of us bitcoiners like to help people who are interested in our niche topic (aka bitcoin), yet surely people do have to do some of their own work too.. .. and so sometimes it takes a person time to really get into the bitcoin topic, so some of that can be excused, yet it still can be difficult to know if someone is just taking time to motivate himself in doing his own research.  I am not claiming to really know how to identify such people.. yet we know that there can be frustrations dealing with people even when we might have a lot in common with them... We also have to spend time with our own projects, too (and not all of them are necessarily bitcoin-related).

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

I think forums are not the only place to learn about Bitcoin or Crypto. In the age of the internet, it is not difficult to learn anything. I think we all come together on forums to share our little knowledge with others and increase our knowledge. Isn't that right?
You are correct that the forum is not the only place to learn about bitcoin. There's nothing wrong if you want to seek bitcoin knowledge elsewhere; it might help you increase your knowledge about bitcoin, but the knowledge that is shared in the forum will help you a lot because most people here are accumulating bitcoin, and sometimes the things they say are from their experience in accumulating bitcoin, which will guide you in accumulating bitcoin in such a way it will not stop you from sorting out your daily expenses, which might get you off the game, partially or permanently. You are a newbie to the forum, but I want you to understand that most people in the forum have vast amounts of knowledge about bitcoin, so stop saying what you are not sure of and concentrate on learning about bitcoin if bitcoin is of your interest. And stop saying crypto in a bitcoin discussion section. If you are interested in talking about crypto, there is a section for that in the forum. You can go there and talk about crypto.
