The simple truth is that without our discretionary income, buying bitcoin can't be called investing, you won't be able to hold it for long so anyone who thinks that they should start buying without figuring out their discretionary income or without at the very least having an idea of how much of the income will most likely become discretionary isn't an investor but rather a trader who is chasing after quick profit.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to increase our discretionary income and if we can cut down on our expenses to increase our discretionary income then the better for us, but we can also work to increase our income which can also help to increase our discretionary income as well, there is no need to start buying beyond what our discretionary income can handle.
Personally I think it is about investing without being bothered or pressured because discreationary income makes you not to feel any pressure while investing in Bitcoin reason being that you are investing with what is left after you have carter for your basic needs, it means the funds you are investing with might not be be needed for anything, so it give you peace of mind to invest without having any unrest in your mind, that is the reason why discreationary income is the ideal funds that should be invested in Bitcoin to enable hodlers hodl for a long-term without being indecisive at some point to withdraw, as for increasing our discreationary income is not a bad idea, if only we can.

The long-term stability of an investment depends on the type of money you have invested in and your mindset. If the money is urgent money that may be needed at any moment, then you will definitely not be able to hold this investment for the long term, rather your investment period will be until the moment you need it.
However, I must also say that there are many who invest through discretionary income after meeting their needs, but even after that they cannot tolerate the volatility of the market, in this case their mindset needs to be fixed first. If you do not have the mental capacity to tolerate the risk of investment, then you can never expect anything good from this investment.
That is why mental capacity is needed before financial capacity. Prepare your mindset first to keep your long-term investment consistent even in this volatility, and after that you think about your financial affairs, we have to think in all cases, you are capable from one day but weak from another, then this weakness can be the reason for your investment failure.

It's true that Investing with discretionary income provides investors with the confidence to hold onto their bitcoin throughout periods of volatility. If a person requires money for expenses such as house rent, school fees, and other necessities, they will feel restless anytime the price of bitcoin falls, making it impossible for them to hold bitcoin for an extended period of time. Investors in bitcoin must be competent to handle their finances. Cutting some unnecessary expenses will result in an increase in discretionary income.Investing with discretionary income provides investors with the confidence to hold onto their bitcoin throughout periods of volatility.

Investors in bitcoin must be competent to handle their finances. Cutting some unnecessary expenses will result in an increase in discretionary income.Aside from decreasing costs, another approach to raise discretionary income is to have many sources of income, such as working an extra job. We can DCA consistently if we have greater discretionary cash. Bitcoin rewards people who are patient and consistent with their bitcoin acquisition. This is only achievable if we invest our discretionary income and increase its amount. Investing with money intended for vital requirements would only cause us to be always vigilant about the market.

In terms of investment, it is more important than the amount of money you are investing and ensuring that it will not be needed later. If you invest after meeting the necessary expenses, that investment does not affect our personal daily life. In addition, even during a temporary price drop, the investor is less likely to panic and sell. If someone invests with money that he may need in a very short time, then the price fluctuation creates fear and frustration of losing money. Therefore, one should invest with money that can be kept intact for a long time. And in addition to ensuring investment from discretionary income, it is necessary to create emergency funds and other funds that make it possible to hold the investment for a long time by dealing with unexpected situations. When an investor makes a decision while maintaining his financial plan and stability, he can naturally invest comfortably. Therefore, it is reasonable to invest from the remaining money by prioritizing daily needs rather than investing at risk.

You are not far from the truth or should I just say that you are correct. I have always advocated that for someone to decide to invest in bitcoin, you must have a steady income because I feel that makes it easy for the investor. When you have a steady income, you can easily plan yourself by taking out ther expenses and know what is left for discretionary income, which you can use for bitcoin investment.  I believe that this makes it easier for any investor and it also allows you to be consistent in bitcoin accumulation.

A stable income is not necessary to invest in Bitcoin, rather a person with a volatile income can also invest. The income that is required to invest is a source of discretionary income. If a person is able to find a discretionary income through proper financial management, then he can definitely invest.

There are many people whose source of income is not stable but they are able to find a discretionary income through proper financial management and continue to invest continuously, again there are many people whose income is stable but they are not able to manage their financial situation properly and are failing to find a source of discretionary income. However, yes, there are some people whose income is less or more but they fail to manage their money properly or reduce the amount of expenses, such people need to move forward with what they have.

I don't still understand what you mean by volatile income am just getting to hear about it for the first time, well investing in bitcoin doesn't necessarily mean that one must have a stable income no but having a stable income or source of income is also good because it will help you to get your discretionary income to keep buying bitcoin for a long time what really matters most is been able to figure out your discretionary income after you have put other necessary needs in place what is left is actually what that can be used to buy bitcoin which is your discretionary income because it's from it you will also get your emergency funds to keep a long time bitcoin investment.

Another thing I feel investors can do to generate discretionary income is , if the salary arrives, they can remove 5%-10% (depending on their situation) of the money at first. Then the 90%-95% of the remaining balance can then go into bills after proper budgeting and tracking spendings. And something spare cash can still remain, therefore they can add it to the initial money the kept at first. This way, they learn to work with the money they have available.. Reason why  I brought this idea, is that some people  receive their paycheck, and they will spend everything on both important and unimportant bills/expenses leaving no room for discretionary income, it happens sometimes though, especially when there's no proper budgeting. They can work with the 5%- 10% cash left as their discretionary income, at times some might deduct 2% out of it for another type of savings.

‎After someone has successfully figured out their discretionary income, the important thing needed is their consistency. If an investor doesn't possess the attributes of consistent accumulation, the amount of Bitcoin they will posses will be little.  Alot of guys who has big amount of discretionary income still ends up with low stash because they are not consistent ;they buy once in a blue moon. One thing I have noticed is that many people focus more on the amount they can invest rather than building the discipline to keep accumulating.

If we haven't made sure that our basics expenses have been taken care of or haven't been able to figure out our discretionary income from our earnings (for salary earners) then it's not realistic to rush into investing in bitcoin, it's very important for us make sure to keep our investment within a tolerable range from our discretionary income, this is because aside from buying bitcoin there are other things we do with our discretionary income such as setting up our backup funds and also for our discretionary consumptions, if we become recklessly aggressive then we might cut in on what's meant for them as well.

my belief is that most times life does not come with such guarantees or level of assurance, certainty or control. Meaning you must not be able to tick all those boxes you mentioned above correctly before you should start investing. Sometimes it also has to do with our mindset or psychology. Particularly for salary earners, you are hardly satisfied with what you earn to the point of running into debts sometimes with the mindset that you can always pay back when your salary lands. Does it mean that investing is not for those who have little money from their salary? I don’t think so. I believe that yes the salary might be meager but there is a way you can still adjust your lifestyle to fit into what you can afford and even spare some for your discretionary income then it makes sense and that’s usually very uneasy for most people. So if you ever picked interest in investing in bitcoin, the first question that should come to your mind is, how’s my lifestyle as related to my expenses, how can I adjust to be able to save for discretionary income and others, how long can I cope with that? Now a honest and thought provoking answer to those questions will really help to determine if you can invest in Bitcoin or not, particularly through the DCA approach which is the most practical approach in this manner.

You misinterpreted what @The Founding Titan said just to score cheap points, he never said that only those collecting big salary should invest or everything has to be perfect before they start. Of course, someone with small income can still invest if they manage their finances well. But the amount should come from money that is not needed for basic living expenses.

Changing your lifestyle to create more discretionary income is a good idea, but that should happen before increasing your Bitcoin allocation, not after. If someone has to sacrifice essential expenses, rely on debt or ignore the need for backup funds just to continue buying Bitcoin, then the investment has stopped being sustainable. Long term success in Bitcoin is noy just about buying; it's also about making sure you can keep buying without putting your finances under unnecessary pressure
Making an investment outside your discretionary income isn't an investment again that is gambling because such person can't hodl his Bitcoin for long, any one who has not yet figure of if they have discretionary income shouldn't go and invest in Bitcoin because you are using money that is meant to take care of your basic needs to invest in Bitcoin which is considered to be wrong, in summary NO DISCRETIONARY INCOME NO BITCOIN INVESTMENT.
