I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

It was a dark time at school. And I've done it too. I warned in advance this cannot be an example and it is not a good thing to do. I used my pocket money to gamble at school. Several times I missed classes that I didn't like just to gamble. I gamble on games like chess and cards. Of course it's hard to bring poker to school so we use paper that we draw on. I even understand the game of chess because I want to win at gambling. It was a bad experience and not to be imitated.
I was lucky because I realized my mistake when I graduated from school. I think if I continue my gambling hobby then I will get addicted and believe me it will not be good for your life.

Yes indeed this is a bad thing to do even if we have money we shouldn't do something crazy such as risking money with a large amount of money, we must be able to see the side of the loss that is definitely happening. Leaving the activities that we should do for the sake of gambling in my opinion is a bad action, because you should not also defend gambling desperately. Gambling with when you have free time, don't let gambling disturb your other activities that might be more important than gambling.

I can not see any significant changes in the control of gambling. When anyone locks his/her account by self-control option that means the person will not be able to play on this site for a specific time or permanently but who controls the user from creating an account on another site? I think when any person gets addicted then the person won't be able to control himself/herself from playing by the method of self control.

I also have the same experience and yet not good practice but truly an awesome core memory. I won't be calling it wrong place at the wrong time either because every time I look back on the same experience that I have, I've got smile on my face and not shame. It's just me enjoying hanging out with my buddies in a train station, and random people would just interestingly join our game. Now every time I ride train, that experience will always make me smile and think of good old days.

That's also probably I'm still somehow play cards online, to entertain myself, and hopefully have the same excitement that I've had before.

It's funny how those notsoproud moments end up being the ones we remember and chuckle about later on. I can't say I've been in quite the adventurous situations you described, but I think, we've all had our share of "what were we thinking?" moments. It’s all part of growing up and finding our way.

Though many people have been involved in this kind of thing but one thing is sure those days you weren't in control of what you did considering your age and am very happy that you condemned the act, I have a friend those days that involve in the same act but his own has worsen now because he couldn't stop gambling, he graduated from middle school gambling to a pure addict, op you were lucky that you were able to get out of this, many addicted gamblers started just as you narrated it, gambling at a young age is very disastrous because at this age you are unable to control your actions, this may sound strange to many of us that weren't involve in this kind of stuff but I must tell you getting out of this behaviour isn't easy.

I can't recall any of that part, I'm the kind of guy to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done then and there so I don't think that I've even done it before. I also don't like mixing the activities and tasks that I do in one place, makes my work a bit sloppy and I end up getting frustrated when my focus is not on the things that I need to do, that's why I can't recall the time that I've ever done that kind of thing, it's a good lesson too because sharing this might help other people realize that there's times that you shouldn't be doing what you're currently doing and that you're focused on the wrong things, who knows, you might help people that would've otherwise still be doing this kind of thing.

Interesting question. I think betting or gambling does not choose any specific places like casinos exclusively. I mean we can bet in the sports bar, inside anyone's house, in the streets, and anywhere as long as there is something to place a bet on. So, I don't think there is a wrong place to gamble.
Gambling inside the campus is huge offense I guess? It could lead to an immediate dismissal (that's at least to most of the Catholic or Christian schols). Luckily, you and your friends had avoided such headaches to the parents. Well, that's some good experience in betting I can say simply because you weren't caught lol.
I have said this quite several times, but me and my friends had bet on how many cars passes by in one hour. The closest number gets the W.

I agree with you. Most of us have been gambling since childhood. We didn't even know it was gambling then. I remember when I was a kid playing games like football, cricket or badminton we used to bet. A very large amount means we don't bet. Because we didn't have enough money then. Our reason for betting was to increase our interest in the match. And to make the match more exciting. But now times have changed. We now place bets on various matches through various online betting sites.

I don't remember doing anything crazy enough to bet. Because I'm not addicted to it. But once I bet my personal mobile phone. But it was limited to our friend group. I did it just for fun.

The Only crazy bet I did in the past is when  I use the electric bill payment into gambling , because I was the
one assigned to pay the bill monthly as the Electric company is near my university , but instead of directly paying? i gamble into
Color game and at least it ends great because I doubled the money.

I took the other half and gave the other half to my mother and tells everything , promising that this

Everyone does this type of thing in childhood and we never felt those things as stupid at that time, rather it was considered as a courageous activity if the students were bunked the classes and do other activities as you explained. It is only afterwards when we grow up and recall our memories only to found out that we have been doing crazy things in our school times.

It is all ok if you did not spend a lot of money on gambling, did not theft your parent's money only to lose in gambling and also such activities did not make you lose in your studies , then its all part of the life. I feel that those students or kids who do not do such types of crazy things may always remain backward or not so social, Again this is mine thinking.

With the many replies from this thread I have been opened to a new discovery that almost all gamblers' today had at a time in their young age either in school or anywhere else took or made a wrong decision for gamble and as at that time it didn't seem wrong because the fun and enthusiasm for the games were high as children with children mentality. It is old age of maturity that has opened our eyes to the wrong of those did that were at that time a normal way of behaving for most of us. Well, when I was at school, we usually used "dice" to bet or we had "bug" fights. We knew which spiders or insects were very aggresive and competitive and we went out to collect them and then we placed them in a plastic container and we bet on the fights that happened in those bottles.

As I grew up, I realised that humans should never abuse nature for their own fun, so I stopped doing it and I even started to educate my friends on the "bad" stuff that we were doing.. and they stopped too.

Now, I bet on humans fighting each other in a cage.  (Boxing / UFC / MMA)

People think gambling brings riches? Totally false. The system encourages loss. I've seen many capable folks throw stuff away at tables. That's not sensible, because winners dont do that.

Risk is part of life. Smart gambling is crucial. Develop yourself, your abilities, your thoughts. Your probabilities rise greatly there. We want a powerful nation, right? That requires smart choices. That's right because many of us knows gambling from a long time ago, especially when there are no online casino. We playing gambling with our friends and used simple games but we used money. That will be a gambling because we used money to wins some money collects by some friends. Many people still playing gambling even when they are grows up and doesn't thinks that is a gambling games. They thinks that's normal if they are playing some games using money but doesn't thinks that's the beginning signs to get addicted to gambling. The reason you didn't become addicted to what you were doing then is because you only did it for fun and not for making extra money, assuming you had a wrong intention in games you were gambling on, that could have lead to becoming addicted. When you gamble is such instances just for making the game more interesting and serious it will eventually bring the beauty of the game you're playing, and every player would take the game serious. I have also had same experience where we bet on our selves in some games, it might be a street to street match. But we never one day made the mistake of staking what we cannot produce collectively from our spare money from our pockets.
