Unfortunately farming is now seen as a thing of the poor that no one wants to go into, even the government is not doing enough to support farming activities
Food is a very important aspect of society that any society that wants to make progress is a society that has eaten very well , infact the economic super powers are society's that have attained food security
Farming activities helps a nation economy grow as scarcity of food will lead to inflation of prices of food in the market
Government should do everything to make sure that people go back to the farm and create the right environment for farming activities

They can do that by granting interest free loans, Education of farmers and giving out fertilizer to farmers

When there is a farm,  in order to take advantage of it, there must be farmers there, and there can't be none. And when there are farmers, obviously, before they plant rice, they first have to plow the land in the field. So that the harvest of rice seeds will be beautiful.

And when the rice is good, the harvest is also good, for sure, as long as the price given to the farmers is right. The economy of a country will improve if the government itself takes the lead in supporting the farmers, and they will allocate a good program for these farmers so that they will love to plant or farm even more. That can even lead to our country exporting rice to other countries.

Farming is essential in essence we can't do without food production or export in what ever way we need food production to stand strong in our society, agriculture is necessary and op used farming as an example, we have two types of agriculture for example we have the commercial and subsistence farming. I think op emphasis more on subsistence farming cause farmers like this lack the basis needs when farming and it's right for the government to look into the agriculture sector by organizing agriculture program and providing materials needed. Be it any nation it's the backbone as if any country which doesn't prioritize agriculture or farming will be dependent on imports from other nations for their daily needs at a higher price and also it will be dependent forever unless they work on farming and expand it. Look at some countries which will never be starve because they have agricultural resource and some countries does have fertile soil and ground water but government is not supporting farming leading to losses.

I think trend is changing as you see more people are involved in farming and I have seen people leaving high paying job to take up farming and starting up their own company with organic farming and all but some are looting people at exorbitant price in the name of organic. We need more of traditional agriculture.

Yes, of course it is very important to pay attention to the agricultural sector so that the people's economy can be helped by a good agricultural sector and if they say that agriculture is the work of the poor, of course most of the farmers in their area cannot manage the agricultural sector so they are under poverty line or it could be that farmers in that area are more concerned with investing in their assets than showing off their wealth. Actually, the Agricultural field is the most important field that all countries have if they will focus on this field it will return high rewards at the end of the day. Since the discovering of crude oil in some countries that used to depend on agriculture as their major source of income, agriculture is being looked down because something new is being discovered which is generating more money. Before now most countries depends so much on agriculture, in every family you can always get a farmer, this is what the government has always look up to but right the government is not even encouraging to do more in the agricultural sectors that is why people are not having much interest on it.

What many of us don't understand is that farming is not all about going to a field, clear land, make ridges and sow seed and take care of the farm until it's ready for harvest. Farming involves rearing of animals, without these many home would lack protein and will be deficiency, many would not have milk to feed their babies. Everyone can't go back to the farm, there is a lot of professions that doesn't have time to farm, you don't expect a medical doctor to farm, they don't have the time. You don't expect a nuclear researcher to farm, they have a lot to think but what the government should is to encourage people to invest in agriculture. A medical doctor can invest all his money into farming by employing people to do the work and indirectly, he will earn and producing goods will also help feed the nation and also encourage exportation. In fact, the farming profession is the profession that is most needed by every human being, but the fact is that many farmers are suffering from the government on the ground. So it is not surprising that the challenges of being a farmer that many people currently experience are, expensive fertilizer prices, expensive pesticide prices, expensive land rentals, uncertain commodity selling prices, difficulty finding workers/laborers, harvest collectors who sometimes like to take big profits. What you say is not wrong , but you should not completely blame the government if that country's agricultural sector is not performing well because there are many factors that the government cannot intervene and support the people.  Just like my country used to be an exporter of jackfruit, dragon frui ...and many other agricultural products to the chinese market . But my country's government cannot control the demand and consumption of the chinese market, so if they suddenly stop importing, even the government will find it difficult to rescue all of those agricultural products .

We like to blame the government every time we encounter difficulties, but if we are fair and analyze carefully to find the problem . We will see that there are many problems that are almost impossible to completely solve and sometimes are not entirely the government's fault.

That's actually sad because whoever embedded that the farmers profession ain't that professional and desirable has got something to do with this.
