Just curious, over the years when your friend's investment continue to grow, have you ever thought of investing on Bitcoin? If you didn't, I don't think you not being a millionaire now is because you didn't listen to your friend, its because you lack guts to take risk unlike your friend who had the guts to take the risk and now is collecting the reward from that risk.

That's sad that you left a chance to become a multimillionaire. But I think its was your destiny that you don't have to become a multimillionaire via BTC investment. I mean you might become one but not via investing or making activities in BTC. But it also does not mean we stop making efforts. Because there are two things that a human being should more focus on. One is hard work, efforts, and then left afterward on destiny. If multimillionaire were your destiny then you would have become one till now.

If not, then even if you would have bought at that time. then you might have sold it too. which means you still won't be a multimillionaire at the current time. We should not regret on what has been missed, instead, we should learn from our mistakes and should remain steadfast in making efforts.

This has been a regular story full of regrettable expressions in this forums hence we mostly came late to the bitcoin industry.
But if your friend introduced you to the Crypto industry at 2010 and advised you to Invest on bitcoin, specifically, then I'd fear if you're truly on the reality point because as at that time, I don't think if there was other cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin to compete with.

During 2015 you could buy Bitcoin for around $200, during 2016 around the halving it was around $400 - but I'm sure the OP didn't have the same opinion back then as he does today. If you wonder why he didn't react then, the answer is very simple - because even then (2015/16) Bitcoin was quite "worthless" and only after the bull run in 2017 the media raise the whole story to a higher level.

When you talk about later periods, why not mention the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, when in less than 24 hours the price dropped by 50% and you could buy 1 BTC for about $5000? All those who missed that already somewhat famous 2010 when they could buy thousands of BTC almost for free (or mine them with personal computers), will never come to terms with that missed opportunity.

There's no use to cry over spilled milk, here in our country when Bitcoin is becoming popular people ignore it because they are not used to something that they cannot understand the concept.
That stopped them from investing in Bitcoin, but when it became popular and adopted by many countries it was too late for these people.

There's no use blaming yourself you have to move forward, remember there are a lot of predictions that Bitcoin is going to $1 million so take this as another opportunity for you.

Having being in the crypto scene for over 10 years, I can tell you for certain that just because crypto worked so well for your friend doesn't mean it would have served you the same good luck as it did for your buddy!!!

Just so you know, I believe the best Hodlers that turned out to be millionaires are those that bought Bitcoins or other Altcoins without intentions of really making this as a real investment to follow vividly...this was more like what the hell it's only a $100 investment or $1000 investment and forgot about it... But anybody with bills to pay and using their last money on BTC investments would have never held on for a long time as they would have liquidated this investment at any point the needed the money which is why the best Hodlers are those with other streams of income.

I am not too astonished by that because even today if you introduce people to bitcoin, some people not a lot of people still think bitcoin won’t last forever and if they invest in it now, there’s high tendency that they are going to lose of all of their investment in it in the future. This is what people come to tell in their everyday life, a one time opportunity that could have changed their lives given away just because they think or think like others to have the same feeling like them on what they feel about it. I won’t blame you though, until a lot realise and see a convincing reason to invest that they should do it.

A lot of us also wished we had invested in bitcoin earlier on but there is absolutely no need for regrets or wishes that’s why it’s never to late to hoop on the train and catch up since there is always enough opportunity for everyone to earn and benefit from cryptocurrency through several means which varies from either holding, trading  or any other way that seems profitable.

OP, you've known about cryptocurrencies for a long time. Like you, many people didn't think at that time that the price of Bitcoin would be above $70k today. In 2010, few people knew about Bitcoin, but no one could have imagined that the value and popularity of Bitcoin would be so much. But I think since you got to know about bitcoin in the beginning, after two or three or four years  if you invest in Bitcoin and hold it until now, you could have been a millionaire like your friend. However, the time is not over yet, if you have the money, if you invest in Bitcoin and hold it for a long time, you can earn a lot in the future.

This is the same regret of many people not accepting bitcoin when it was first created. People always say if they had embrace bitcoin that earlier time they would have become rich by now but the same people still find it difficult to hodl bitcoin to gain that profit they never had opportunity in the past to get. For those who think that they missed the opportunity of making profit from Bitcoin,  it is not still late to still gain from bitcoin,  even if the price of bitcoin is high compared to years back profit can still be made.

In the year 2010, you mentioned, I will say it was just lucky for few people good more knowledge about Bitcoin to take opportunities in that 2010 to invest in bitcoin. But one thing that always keeps many people away from good opportunities like this is that we always quickly believe in only what we think without doing any further research. Assuming many of us have been taking the time to study and found out the truth, such as this bitcoin opportunity will not pass us at an early stages.

But one truth remains, even if you invested during that period, I don't think you would be holding your Bitcoin to this period of time. Some early investors sold out their Bitcoin at the early growing price Bitcoin because they never believed the price of Bitcoin would reach its current all-time high. Op, you are not the only person to fall within this category of persons that didn't have the believe to invest in Bitcoin at the early stage, that is nature for you, people always look down on humble beginning, people always don't want to give credence to little things. Because even if you had earlier invested, how long do you think you will be willing to hold, do you think you would have held on it till now, I don't think so. Yours is even lucky because you had the information at early stage and you didn't invest, however for some of us in Africa, we were not privy to some of these informations about bitcoin at the earliest stage of it and some will even say, they didn't have the resource to invest at that early days.

However I still believe the time is not late because you can still use the opportunity you have now to grasp at the little investment on bitcoin that you can, because the availability of Bitcoin is  still there for future assurance, so that in the next 10 years you will correct this statement your making now.

Your friend talked to you about investing in Bitcoin in 2010, you refused and passed up the opportunity to get it when it wasn't too pricey. It is not all early adopters of Bitcoin became billionaires. Many of the early adopters of Bitcoin actually lost their bitcoins due to inability to secure it. Some willingly gave their bitcoin at in the name of investment to Ponzi schemmerd and they lost all. Some other persons sold very much earlier when there was little rise in Bitcoin price. There is a very small chance they you wouldn't have lost or sold your bitcoin if you entered the industry when your friend invited. There's also no guarantee that bitcoin is the only source of your friends wealth. The good thing is that you have another opportunity to buy now, so do so or wait to make a similar post when bitcoin hits $200k

Well there are thousands of possibilities that might have happen even if you have might have invested in Bitcoin because there is no certainty that you might have held on to the investment till now because you might have sold it or even freak out and tempered with your investment so you should rest alot of person have had this regret but what they are doing now is actually to correct the mistakes so you should probably stop whining and start hoarding.
