The truth of the matter is that most, if not all influencers care about their audiences and the content they're pushing to these audiences as long as they are making good bucks, then it's all good. Imo, it now falls in the the jurisdiction of the parents and guardians of these kids to play an active role to ensure their wards don't indulge in it by having a discussion around the topic rather than ignoring or avoiding it. Gambling isn't the only thing being put at the forefront of minors and I reckon that it's no5 going to stop anytime soon.

Bottomline, it is actually the parents or the person himself who should filter what is being shown from social media. You can't expect these influencers to know the feeling of their audience or fans. This is why it is on you, being the audience to take care of your own welfare.
But the sad part is that no matter how the parents supervise or guide their children's, it is impossible for a parent to look for their child 24/7, so there will still be a window where young people will be exposed to gambling or different influences on social media. especially right now when the streaming community is getting worse. Why? Because there are a lot of streamers that stream games, or any games that they will make content for, but notice that they start to stream their gambling games, it became their main streaming session, which is alarming because for money they sell their dignity and start to promote gambling without thinking about the impact of it on their viewers. We can see that everyone could be blinded by money; even if they receive criticism, they will ignore it because they want money. we can't blame them because they only do that in order to live but the thing is, is that the only way?

A lot of social media influencers especially bloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their blogs or videos.
I could see a huge contribution and spread of information that they made especially during this time where the majority are using smartphones already. In fact, we've been seeing a massive increase in gamblers and online gambling sites. But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?
You only said they promote the casinos/companies that sponsored them at the end of the videos, but I see it differently here in my country, it is worse as they promote them from almost the beginning, in the middle and in the end depending on the influencer. Well, I do not have issues with that, big influencers could deliver good and useful information, so as we enjoy them, we can sacrifice that as well to keep the activity running. But these days, it is getting too much, there is no more regulation or consideration for the young people. It got worse with the traditional TV programs and even city billboards, you will see enough gambling adverts there, and it is not refined to some certain age anymore.

I do not know how this will affect the next generation, but I know that it is morally wrong. And the government is not saying anything because it is more money for them, well, at least for my country, it could be better in a serious country. The influencers should be sanctioned if the beginning of their video does not warn of the adult-related advertisements, but still here in my country, nothing of such is happening yet. Even YouTube and other platforms that are unannouncedly poping adult-related adverts in videos should be heavily sanctioned to curb such menace. At least, they should have warned the viewers about what they could see in the video and the adverts attached to it.

As with the other comment I made on a similar post, this was because the money they get from these sponsored advertisements are batshit insane, in the Philippines alone, a regular micro-vlogger (someone with at least 4k followers and are more into short-form content than full-on videos) could get $500-1000 bucks, and for larger content creators with millions of followers, the rate last I heard goes upwards of $2000-$20,000 depending on how long the sponsored ad's going to be along with other factors. So it's no surprise these people are so adamant about advertising these obscure casinos. Dignity doesn't pay the bills, and neither does compassion for those who lost their money due to gambling addiction, and with the economy falling into deeper shitholes nowadays, these people find no choice but to actually take these casinos up for their offers.

The Philippine government's on a crackdown to punish unlicensed casinos but that could only do so much because as long as money's there, people will be forced to really take these sponsorships, plus the public's losing its trust on the government following fiasco after fiasco so it's not like they really hold that much of a power over the people besides putting them in the slammer.

Influencer marketing for casinos may not target children, but it still has unintended consequences. Their priority will always profits rather than ethics or users' well-being. Their content might not be explicitly aimed at children, but the exposure to glamorous portrayals of gambling normalizes it and makes it seem exciting or cool. This can plant the seed for gambling addiction later in life.

Underage internet users can often find ways to bypass parental controls. Even age-restricted content can be accessed, and gambling can seem like a fun or rebellious activity. Casinos aren't necessarily targeting a specific age group with influencer marketing. They're targeting people with specific spending habits and behaviors. Teens who watch gambling content may be more likely to gamble when they reach adulthood. Even if the influencer doesn't directly promote gambling to a young audience, their association with a casino can be seen as cool. This indirect marketing can make gambling seem more appealing.

I don't think they have a specific target, because anyone can gamble as long as they understand the steps for gambling. However, nowadays children who are no longer familiar with the internet and gadgets can make them familiar with online gambling which is currently popular, with children who are no longer familiar with the internet, they have the potential to become familiar with gambling and indeed This can be a seed for gambling addiction in the future, because sometimes when parents are busy they give their children gadgets to play with.

The main thing is that most of them are young people who have lots of desires, young people who nowadays tend to always want to own luxury goods and because of that they think gambling is one way to make money quickly, but that is wrong. if they gamble with the aim of doubling their money, it will only make them suffer misery because what will happen is they will become addicted to gambling instead of improving their financial situation to buy what they want.

OP is right, but we can't put all the blame on influencers or ads promoters, they are simply doing that for monetary value which for me isn't bad. They have built a system with followers, so it's left for you to sign up or not.

We have seen different gambling sites promoted but we didn't still sign up for, why because we didn't see any cordial reason to, that's same thing, if you train your ward properly I don't think there is any need for fear. The only solution is you knowing those you follow and listen to on social media platforms.

Okay that’s fine. We both are advertising for casinos on Bitcointalk and so is every other person on this thread. And somehow we do not seem to qualify ourselves as “influencers” in this regard. Maybe it’s because the term denotes some responsibility that we are not yet willing to accept. We cannot control who opens an account on the forum or visits the gambling section as a guest user. Anyone with a device and internet can access the forum and while it is not our intention to advertise casinos to minors, the truth is that it can happen.

The casinos do their own research before hiring an influencer to promote their casino. Influencers who often get these jobs have a specific audience (users above 18+) that the casino considers prospective customers. Their content are not for kids so they do not worry about underage gambling happening because of their platform. Trust me, no casino wants kids betting on their platform. Think about it, how much are kids going to spend gambling? The amount is nowhere close to what an adult would gamble with. Parents have a big role to play in deciding what and who their kids watch and follow on social media.

Casino influencer marketing is real, but we need to communicate. Not "morality police" or a killjoy. The goal is youth protection. They may not be targeting kids, but their luxurious lifestyle? The thrill, the gamble? Teens love that stuff, always testing limits and wanting to feel grown-up. Impulsivity and compulsive gambling are dangerous, as we all know.

Those kids are smart. They'll circumvent filters. Instead of warning labels or age checks, they witness influencers living a dream life paid for by luck and risk-taking. Not harmless entertainment.

A lot of social media influencers especially vloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their vlogs or videos.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their vlogs or videos?
Nowadays everyone uses new strategies to increase their income and arrange advertisement. But not everything should be advertised. Especially gambling. Because through this a minor will end up gambling with wrong decisions. It is not always possible to solve this matter by applying the law if no one corrects himself. Although there is no restriction on such advertising in countries where gambling is legal, such advertising campaigns must not be allowed in countries where gambling is conducted unofficially but there is no official legalization. Advertising is fine for those who are fit for gambling but it will have a big negative effect on those who are still underaged. This is not an individual problem but a problem for a nation. I think such ads should be stopped to keep minors safe.

A lot of social media influencers especially vloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their vlogs or videos.

Admittedly, the ads hardly encourage the emotional safety of kids who view them online. But the casino who issue funds for the distribution of such ads online, also, are doing it due to the demand gambling has across the globe. Clearly, everyone knows of kids spreading out on every online platform. Yet when placing ads on influencers page, age restriction is not available, unlike running ads officially on the website. Where advertisers have the choice to set a range of age groups who are eligible to view the ad. Influencers display ads regardless of who is going to see it or not. The task is for parents to set parental control on the smartphones or gadgets of the kids.

These things matter for the safety of their children. Not just about the relationship between the influencer and the kids. Influencers are not mainly concerned about the kids on the channel. Parents are to do the restriction jobs. No influencer will block younger people from following them, they're desperately in search of more impressions to attract advertisers. Thereby making more funds, enough to keep their online marketing platform up and running. I think they should be a better way of resolving such disputes, other than suggesting that influencers stop to accept gambling ads because of underaged followers. It'll delay the growth of their page as a business. Because gambling niche is hot and willing to pay significant amounts for ads

Nah, everything can advertised nowadays even the NSFW. You'd see it still in social media because they can't filter everything and they can't remove them on an instant. So even if they've got rules and might just remove the ads but they have to get reported for them to remove it. But as long as it's not yet removed and reported, there are audiences that will see that ad and especially those that are not into this thing might potentially see it because that's how social media works and random stuff might appear on your news feed.

Because through this a minor will end up gambling with wrong decisions.
This is true, they'll be able to see those ads even if they don't want to because that's the power of advertising in all of the platforms that we're using nowadays. And that influences the decision of those that will be seeing those ads, otherwise it is them and their actions will make them addicted but the attraction came from the marketers and advertisers.

As for those countries that don't allow gambling, they have a lot of rules about it and they're able to monitor those ads.

Problems include gambling ads and the entire system. Profitable influencers spreading dangerous stuff to kids? That's unacceptable. Telling parents to "just handle it" is cop-out. Advertising is everywhere to lure people in. Profit drives ethics away. Even influencers need accountability. Asking for basic responsibilities isn't "censorship". Since we regulate age on everything else, why not gambling ads? Protecting young minds, not profits, isn't rocket science. We need major reform. The content influencers promote must be carefully examined. Impacting the next generation is more important than money. Doing right shouldn't be so hard

The internet ad business is a decentralized one and it's not simple to organize an effective method to restrict or regulate how influencers place adverts on their space. Social media platforms like Facebook don't encourage casino ads, same way other social media companies don't. The only available means of utilizing the advertisement opportunity on social media is through those influencers. And the platforms where influencers promote gambling, can't or don't care about taking down those ads. Because it's assumed the influencer is making posts on behalf of himself.

I think trying to underline influencers as the only force available to end this ever-growing mistake will be a major delay in achieving such a goal of safeguarding young minds. That was why I picked parents as a valid means of shielding their kid's devices from accessing some platforms where gambling ads can be seen. Looking at your response, I have a doubt that parents will do a perfect job, but a every journey begins with a step. Money call the shots, and you know this, nothing would convince influencers not to place gambling related ads, provided they're offered a reasonable amount of money.

A lot of social media influencers especially vloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their vlogs or videos.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their vlogs or videos?

Those bloggers and bloggers who do this don't care about their target audience they make it appear that they care about the way they promote these casinos but in fact, they are ruining people's minds.

There's a lot of money to be made promoting gambling platforms and they only have to sacrifice their conscience
This is why I stopped watching videos coming from these bloggers and if I seen one I reported because it's against the policy of social media, but these vloggers have found a way to promote through their viral videos

I think they don't care that much. What they care about first is their profits. As for whether their viewers are old enough to participate in gambling or not, they consider it a personal matter for each person. Ethically, they will have to know that their actions will have a huge impact on viewers, but most will be governed by profits, and the law does not prohibit them from doing that. If it were you, would you do it?

In addition, they will have the thought that if they do not advertise, others will also advertise, and they alone cannot change this advertising trend. Basically, they create social networking channels just to make money, so if current regulations do not prohibit them from doing so, they will not miss the opportunity to make profit in this form. Income from advertising for forms of gambling is often much higher than for other products.

This promotion is a source of income and usually by promoting online gambling sites they will get paid quite a lot compared to promoting other applications that are more concerned about the positive impact on the future, they don't care about their followers even though there are some children who follow them because sometimes Many young children idolize beautiful or handsome influencers on social media, but sometimes these influencers don't care whether their promotion will have a negative impact or not because the most important thing for them is a job that will give them money and will continue to do so.

In my country there are many influencers who promote online gambling even though in my own country gambling is an illegal game and distribution permits are prohibited, but still these influencers are determined to promote it and don't know what will happen if they continue like that even though there is a possibility that they will be arrested and under the law which will definitely result in fines because they break the rules, let it be like this because they themselves also don't think about the impact of children watching their videos on social media. As a result, many children are exposed to gambling even though they are still too old to know about games like that.

they just don't care about it, because the most important thing for them is how they can make money from the promotion. they don't care who their audience is and who they get the money from or what brand they promote, the important thing is that they can get money and that's enough for them.

if we say they don't care about this, that's not true, but it's just that most of these influencers are stupid, so they don't know what they are doing, promoting something that is very vulnerable to children.
I think it is hard for them target specific audience because the video posted can still go viral or be shown on someone else feed even though they don't have interest with it. The only thing that they can do, is to choose properly if what they promote is legit and also the influencer should not be misleading on promoting it. Unfortunately many influencers nowadays are not like this but they are like what you describe there.

It's not that they are stupid to not know what they are doing but they are wise and selfish. I think children are still hooked in video games and not in gambling but many adults now are addicted to it, based on the comments I read online.

A lot of social media influencers especially vloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their vlogs or videos.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their vlogs or videos?

You raised an urgent matter of concern, the government are just after the tax thats been paid by gambling companies but the censorship and strict sanctions are not considered necessary, there are some advertisement that should not be taken as job despite the money that one is been paid for it though am not against any gambler, gambling firm or what they do but the means of communicating it to the public is what I don't support,  I so much concur to this thread, it is very obvious that bloggers are not looking at the side effect of the product they are advertising but just the money the money the will be going home with at the end of everything, children are very sensitive and any information they get is stored easily by them, so I think our blogers should rethink and do things rightly.

The case is the same, in my country gambling is also considered an illegal activity, but there are lots of influencers who promote gambling sites. and I think this is a normal thing, considering that the economy in my country is not good, unemployment is everywhere, and it is difficult for someone to get a decent job. This difficulty can really make someone short-minded, so they do something reckless, taking a job as an influencer on an online gambling site even though it is against the law. Because the most important thing for him is how he can have an income so he can meet his needs to survive.

They know very well that working as an online gambling site agent carries quite serious risks, and they could end up behind bars. But they have no other choice, apart from that.

It indeed depends on the person and those promoting or advertising gambling platforms aren't the only ones to be blamed for it because what they are doing is only for them to earn a living, you don't need to follow what they do or say because they are doing what is right for them and you are supposed to do what is right for you, and for an individual, not getting involved in gambling, or trying not to become addicted should be the right thing for them to do.

If I'm a content creator on YouTube, and I'm promoting a casino platform because they are paying me for it, I wouldn't want my subscribers to become addicted gamblers but I would want them to gamble for fun and don't get carried away only because I'm promoting gambling because I have a different motive behind doing that.

That is good. So how do you ensure that your followers don't get carried away with all the possibilities you show to them on how to hit it big on the casino and how they can turn into mega wealth in no distant time because you are already that way from what they are seeing. Do you add a disclaimer or you practically tell them not to practice this at home  Grin

Some gamblers are quite gullible, believing everything that they see that they were promised to help them win big without considering that casino is a business created for profit and that gamblers have slimmer chances of winning than what profit goes to the owner of the casino.
