That is how gambling sites are. Most of them will not demand for KYC from you as long as you are losing, but if you win and want to withdraw some money, they will go through your account and tell you to do necessary things before you can withdraw and requesting for your identity through KYC can be among the requirements.

My topics originates from the comment of this user above in this thread where the OP is writing to seek about KYC stuff. The link to it will be at the end of the topic.

I know casinos do this. I have experienced it too. It is also in their T&C. My question for casino lovers is that instead of waiting until we win big and are asked to submit KYC documents, will you do it before the casino management or administrator request of it? Is there anyone who has gone ahead to fill out and submit their KYC on their account or by asking their customer support for it way before they even start make a request.

There are basically three types of sites that enforce KYC. The first type would not let the website be used without filling the KYC. The second type recommends you to fill the KYC but won't force it and may have limitation on numbers and amounts of bets for non-KYC users. In these type of sites, it would be better to pre-fill your KYC if you think you'll be crossing the limit or going to have a big win.
The third type of sites have no option to fill the KYC at all and they ask for KYC when you have a suspicious activity or a big win. Justification on such activities would be case based. Gambling industry is a very sensitive market where they need to keep a balance between user satisfaction and regulations. Established casinos won't look for problems unless they absolutely need to while newer scammy sites may give troubles just to confiscate some funds.
Well spoken, and personally, as much as I believe the three type of styles casinos either choose as their kyc process, I think the second you mentioned is outdated and no longer in use at the moment.

And I say this because, the majority of casinos I've come across only use either the first or the last method, which is, they either make the kyc verification form available at registration, and the gambler registering on that casino at that time must complete the kyc form and pass it before he or she is allowed to make any deposit to the casino and start playing, Stake and a host of other casinos fall in this category.
And on the other hand, other casino will simply allow new gamblers join the casino, deposit and start playing without kyc verification, they won't even make the KYC form available on the site, or accessible to the gambler.
The only time the casino will ask the gambler for kyc verification is when he or she wants to withdraw from the casino, and lots of casinos, specially the newer casinos fall under this category.

What I will want you to understand about casino is that they are easily penetrated while you haven't made a deposit to the site and your kyc document will be easily approved without any haste and to be frankly speaking, submitting kyc detail after registration to me seems to be the best idea than waiting for the gambling site to ask you for kyc or waiting to win big for the time. Kyc is a very technical issues to handle and when customers gets flooded to gambling site getting yours approved could take time and would require proper monitoring to check if that document has been submitted before to prevent those who are cheating with multiple accounts.

Waiting to have a big win before submitting your KYC could turn out to your own detriment, I think for casinos that require KYC, it's always best to do it much earlier before you eventually hit a big win because ordinarily they may not disturb you because they wouldn't want to drive their potential customer away.

The problem is that some casinos don’t allow you to do the highest level of verification until after you’ve reached some threshold that isn’t really stated anywhere. This can lead to frustration when you suddenly win a large amount and are then asked to provide more documents before you are allowed to withdraw. The worst outcome is when they start asking for proof of funds. If they’ve allowed you to play for months with no problem, it is unlikely your funds suddenly became dirty the instant you won a large amount.

When KYC becomes such a hassle, it is evident they want to prevent you from withdrawing. In those cases, you just have to go along with their demands to avoid giving them an excuse to withhold your money.

Whether you pass KYC before or after doesn't matter to people who want it done, but it is a big problem for those who don't want to pass KYC, so it is best to read their Terms and conditions first or ask the team for KYC verifications before you make deposits, this is where you will get the correct answer.

Few online casinos accept KYC verifications before you start using the platform, and some accept KYC only after you win some money; this doesn't make them scammers; once your identity is accepted, they will release your money instantly or slowly.

Basing up on experience then Roobet does have that kind of level 1 KYC which asking out Name and address, when the level upgrades then this is the time that you would be able to provide some ID's or documents that would prove out your name and residency on which it would really be needing up to get in line on the initial information that you had put up on level 1, and if it happens that it would
not coincide then you would really be definitely facing up some issues. As for other sites too that they do directly ask out some ID for you to be able to withdraw and this will really be a tough choice
for you since you cant be so sure or would really be that confident that you could really be able to trust them but well if you are really that eager to play then you wont be minding much about
into your personal information that had been sent out.

But what is clear is that we must continue to do it because it has become something that must be done even though it is sometimes uncomfortable.

I am not a big fan of KYC, but of course, like many other users, I would do it for a big win. In general, I believe that this procedure is gradually becoming obsolete and many casinos or bookmakers adhere to this practice only because regulators require it. However, the latest trends in the gambling industry clearly indicate that this area is becoming more transparent and decentralized. Casinos and bookmakers are switching to payments in cryptocurrency, the player can see the results of these payments in the blockchain. Gradually, the definition of winnings will become more democratic. Sooner or later, people will be able to collect large winnings without the KYC procedure.

that's because the casino has terms and conditions that can ask users to do KYC verification. because we play at a casino that does require KYC from users, then there is no problem as long as our winnings are paid. there are some users who feel annoyed because in the end the withdrawal must be postponed because there is a problem with the KYC verification submitted. this means that there is indeed an error in the account that is intentionally or not finally detected by the casino. maybe the casino will ask for KYC verification at a higher level to re-verify the account.

Even though we don't want/like it, unfortunately, the situation gives us no other option or forfeits our winnings. Whether we like it or not, and even if it is against our will, when it was on their ToS, it certainly forced us to do it.

That is why if we gamble, we are also aware that the platform we use can someday ask for our KYC. If not all, but the majority are already asking for this even upon registration. But for me, I don't see a problem as long as I'm using the trusted platform, which is why we should choose the one that can be trusted and reputable. As it was started, we can never expect this will be stopped, but it urges all casinos that are legally operated to do the same as mandated by the government authorities.

Link to original post described in the OP - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5494948.0

As for me, when I know that a casino is reputed in the crypto industry, I don't have a problem if I submit a KYC to the platform. I always think that maybe one day, when I play gambling at the casino, I will suddenly win a large amount. in slot games.

At least I have already submitted my KYC, and I won't have any problems when it comes to the withdrawal I will make because I will take out what I won. That's why I rarely win big at the casino in the reality of my life.

Reading the Terms and Conditions is a must although that will not easy for us to understand all of the terms. But we can ask to their support system which can explain better so we can really know what do and don't. Casino can asks us to do KYC before after we withdraw but if you are fine to do KYC before you deposit the money, you can use that casino. If not, you can search for the other casino to playing gambling.

The important is you know what makes you feel comfortable. And if doing KYC is not be a problem for you in the beginning, you can continue the process before you deposit or withdraw the money. Besides that, you must make sure to choose the right casino which should be trust and have reputation among the other casinos. That will prevent you from scamming if you register in the casinos that doesn't have reputation.

The answer should be either Yes or No, depends on your ability and financially capacity to gamble on any given occasions.
I should say YES, if you know for yourself that you are capable of winning big amount, simply because you're depositing and wagering huge amount. An amount which the online casino would trigger their alarm against you.
On the other hand, If you are just casually gambling around with small bets, then I guess you'd do fine without completing the KYC verifications. Well, not until of you become very lucky and hit a huge jackpot lol.

The customer of a well-prepared and regulated casino has every right to do lawful exercises, of which KYC completion is part of it. The Casino should be ever ready for it and should even be happy that their customer is willing to complete the KYC as fast as possible if there are no ulterior motives. At the same time, many casinos would not want it done until they request it so that it will catch the customer unawares and I hope things will work well for the customer thereafter because the request from the casino often happens when you are a winner or withdrawing a big amount of money, not when you are a loser. Is that not telling you anything?

I make sure I complete my KYC with any company immediately after I open my account without a dime deposited yet in it. Peradventure they told me to pend it, I will stop working with them immediately because I don't know the excuse they can give me that will make me believe they are sincere. Every casino should be ready for the KYC and every customer must do it ASAP or play into their hands and face the later consequences.

It depends on you because you want to play anonymous still its not ideal to have a KYC or just the basic KYC program like the phone and email for just the basic account recovery but if you are just a small gambler would like to seek fun whats the reason for giving all of your information to them, stay vigilant as possible because most of the information recently can be find in the internet might can be use against you or even pretend that you are the one committing something that in reality you did not do. Just for safety reason why people avoid casino requesting a KYC.

How about on dealing with Stake.com website?

How you would be dealing up with it? They are asking some KYC verification and sending out an ID before you could make out that withdrawal on which it is really that absurd or really that too much.
This is the main reason on why i did make myself find out or look for another place just because i cant bare out with this kind of system on where making some verifications first
before you could be able to play.

Just like on what others been saying that not all will really be that willing on providing their KYC specially on the time that they are playing
with small amounts. We do know about information leak and other common issues.

Everyone has their own thoughts and I would do KYC earlier than it would be more complicated when getting a big win. I mean when we gamble for fun and suddenly get a big win, of course we want to withdraw the money immediately and enjoy the winnings immediately. But if I haven't done KYC, my withdrawal will be held up for a while because the casino will definitely need time to check the data we fill in.
So I don't want my fun to end in a complicated way and without thinking long as the casino has a good reputation for a long time, I will not hesitate to do KYC earlier.

Maybe that's all my opinion about KYC earlier before placing a bet and before getting a big win. All of that is just for a faster process.

What's the point of this before you win? It may never happen, so what's the point of sharing your data before you decide to withdraw your winnings? Casinos mention that the request for verification can be from $1,000 or more, but I had a case where they asked for verification when I wanted to withdraw about $10, so I suspect that such a request can happen just when withdrawing. Of course, different casinos may have different rules.

I prefer to submit KYC before I win but not on gambling sites that does not require it at all. But if it is a KYC gambling site, I will know already that before I will withdraw, I will be asked to submit KYC documents. So before I deposit on the site, I will prefer the site to confirm that I pass the KYC and get verified than to start the verification when I want to withdraw and have withdrawal issues.

If I'm already fine to the services provided by the casino I'm using and everything is good at their end then provably will request to do KYC first since we know that there's possibilities that there are unavoidable scenario that might happen especially for winning big amount. Since if we will be asked a KYC after those huge win for sure that we provably get stress first and questioned the reputation of the casino since for sure that we will experience long delays.

I don't know if all casino will allow KYC in advance but they should allow players which is willing to undergo this procedure. We already see a discussion like this which the user has not been allowed to do KYC first by a casino and he really got disappointed with the support answer regarding on this matter. But people have different opinion regarding on this matter so much better for people to have freedom to choose so that everything will be fine to people especially they know they have right to choose regarding on what implementation done by the casino.

Yeah, it's really up to us whether we want to submit basic info or not. If we don't feel like or not comfortable about it, then just go and look for a casino that will not require KYC or at least at a certain threshold.

Nowadays, it's totally different to crypto base gamblers, after winning big casinos are going to ask and then they have all the rights to refuse to pay us because the KYC that we submitted didn't passed on their fraud system and it's really disheartening for gamblers who won big money.
