But if it is related to context like this, it is actually an excessive and unreasonable belief because the dealer has system in each game so they can set it and so is the same with the provider who has way of playing the game with random algorithm, so this is not about manipulation done by the devil.

Maybe some people believe that is superstitious so people must avoid before something bad happen to them. But they can not force people to follow their suggestion because people are free to choose what they want to do. You made a valid point by saying that the man should've cautioned the OP about the disadvantages of gambling that can lead to addiction, instead of bringing superstition into it. There's no proof that that demons or spirits controls gambling businesses, people take risks everyday by making choices that they don't know whether it'll be profitable or not. The old man was probably a former gambling addict and doesn't want people to go through his experiences.
