Do I believe in match fixing? Yes, I believe, but this belief is no different from belief in microbes, which I have never seen either. I don't knows the truth about fixed match but I guess that could happens as we knows that everything can be set up by those people who have their reason to controls the match. We can say that's a secret thing but maybe many people already knows about that but they can't do anything. We don't knows who are involved in that case because they seems like a syndicates that trying to controls every match they wants and we don't knows what's their reason doing that. This is just a speculation that would have been started by Arsenal supporters, or others who in support of Arsenal to win the premier league and were depending on Tottenham to help them out.

This has nothing to do with being a fan of Arsenal because I love English football more especially England teams and I always support a consistent team and as we all saw that Manchester city and Arsenal were major competitors in the premier league. If you come to Africa, you will know that some matches are match fixing. There was a Nigerian league that someone posted last minute penalty on this forum, the player played it out intentionally that people will know. That is match fixing in NPFL. There are other leagues like that which match fixing is common. That is why I have not been betting with small leagues because I know the possibility of match fixing is very high.

Exactly, it's sad, but it's true that no matter what measurement, rules, or how strict a commissioner becomes, there will still be match fixing and it will not be stopped. That's why it's better to avoid betting in a sport that mostly has a series record of match fixing because it will mostly happen again. And also, before betting, make sure that you watch the game so that you can notice if there is an anomaly or suspicious happenings in the game so that you can pull out your bet early. For me I don't really believe on anything like match fixing because those are just mare assumptions of people which is not true because establishment of VAR is to make sure matches are being played fairly instead of favouring one side or deciding how a much will play, perhaps if VAR was introduced to make match fixing possible most people would have already kicked against it because not everyone that would accept that and besides with how popular football is and millions of people watching it coming up with that method will actually change the narrative or mindset of people towards it.

Match fixing is not new and sometimes they are obvious that you won't need any second opinion to spot it right away because the players are not good actors, they just like throwing the balls far away and wasting any opportunity to catch the score. this is what I see in the Local Basketball here in our country. There is nothing like match fixing my friend, no team would like to lose to the other opponent just because of money, the players have different intentions while in the field apart from winning the match they also want to advertise their skills so they will be noticed by a bigger club for contract, and no player will like to ruin his grace of going to higher club just because he was paid a huge amount of money in a single match. the example you cited concerning a player who failed to score but shot the ball directly to the goalkeeper, that does not mean that the match was fixed but the best that he can play at that moment considering the pressure at that particular point in time.

Any player can miss that goal, even Ronaldo and Messi often misses penalty in some critical matches and that does not mean that they are been paid or that the match was fixed and for the Manchester coach to have shook hands with him must have probably being a coincidence because he is very fond of shaking a very player next to him when the match is over and he did not specifically went to the player to shake him just because he missed the goal. It's no longer about believing or not believing because it has already happened, so it is real and exists and only the people involved in it understand which matches have been regulated. If asked what the benefits are?, it is clear that there is, because it is impossible for them to cheat without having a target of making a profit, the ones who benefit are the gamblers involved as well as other parties, for example players because they will get what percentage of the profits they get, in football this usually happens in small leagues while for other sports it is usually in types that are not very popular or small tournaments so it is difficult to detect, but If proven, all those involved will receive sanctions and as far as I know there are tennis athletes who have been banned from playing for life and are also not allowed to be involved in anything related to tennis because of cases like this.

"Most matches" is just exaggeration, especially if you include all the sports.

Imagine telling a secret for group of friends, and believing it will stay as a secret. It almost never does. Then imagine how many people would need to keep a secret and shut up if they thought something was off in the game, and how leaking that info would affect to betting odds. And top of that everyone involved would risk prison time, financial penalties, being kicked out of professional sports and other sanctions.

And only "evidence" someone would have for MOST matches being fixed is because they are losing money by betting.

Did you watched Cagliari - Fiorentina last night ? that game was very awful and very sketchy because the game had 5 extra minutes and Fiorentina got a penalty in the 12 MINUTE OF EXTRA TIME! Even if you are suspecting that football is been manipulated by it's officials you can't do anything because you don't have any evidence and no one will believe you until there a good evidence that can prove what you are saying is real. Some other people might agree with what you said but you and those people can not accuse the down jodge that they fixing the most of their match's, football officials have quality proves that what ever is happening at the football field is real and they have no hand on the results. The only people that can fight against them is the government even with or without proves, the government can come out and said they don't want anything sport in their country and so be it.
