For instance, when the last time we watched ice hockey game with friends, one of them placed a bet on a team to win, and I instantly placed a bet on opposite team just for a laugh. The team I placed a bet was much weaker, but it would be a laughable hysteria if they win. I think odds were like 6 or more. And if my bet would have won, I would have bought everyone a drink. From what I've read about the way you bet I'm sure that you're betting not to win but to make the atmosphere more festive with your friends, although I would say that picking the weaker team is ridiculous but by you doing that it convinces me that you're betting with money that you can really afford to lose or account for because picking the weaker team is too risky a choice.

But I would also say that there is nothing wrong with what you did and chose, because the main priority in that situation is to increase the fun with your friends and even if you lose then surely your friends will treat you with your other friends.  In conclusion, gambling is not so bad if it is done in the right way, such as not putting excessive expectations of winning and also only putting a small amount that we can afford to lose.

You're telling the truth buddy, that you do chase the win, most people probably do too but they don't admit it confidently, even so we do need to train ourselves to be better so that we don't overreach and chase the win so much that it leads us into the abyss of irresponsible loss.
