Trying to live a clean life, apps on phone are a distraction -- even putting Sleeper on my phone to participate in BTT NFL pool was a bit of an annoyance -- and I know it sounds like an excuse but I'm trying to shelve this forum on one box, and that box lives on my phone only on a browser =)

Statistically the draw puts you at a disadvantage because it has significantly less value than other outcomes as it doesn't give you 3 points if you are right about a draw, but not about the number of goals. But I understand that sometimes getting around the draw feels impossible. But it feels as impossible to choose a winner. A few interesting games there, but I have to say that Bayern is shockingly bad already. I don't think they have a chance in the Champions League. So many close games like allowing Kiel to cut it short to 3-4, now 0-0 by halftime. Kompany is gone by the end of the season unless he wins the CL.

You just pointed out something I need to add to my ongoing assessment of Kicktipp, and how it works differently from Superbru scoring. I should have done this at the end of last season but I will make sure I start the next one well aware. Not that it helps much, of course, but I know now there is better value in 2-1 than in 3-1 unless you expect a truly high score (I've pointed this out in gameweeks past).

I never bought into Kompany. His best contribution is probably to just allow them to play how they want to.

Overall, it was again a fairly random round in which many favorites lost points by losing or drawing, I'm glad I got out of it without major losses. In the next round, Bayern will apparently secure the championship; now, to do so, they only need to avoid losing to Bayer.

Unfortunately, it is hard to believe in the intrigue even if Bayer wins. 5 points is a lot considering the difference in quality of the game. The statistics do not lie over such a long distance - Bayern scored the most and conceded the least. We can hope that they will have a slump like Barcelona (6 points in 7 games or something like that) but that is closer to fantasy than reality.

Yes, the best of the participants has 7 points, which is unusually little for a 6-game forecast. To be honest, I was afraid that many would choose a 1-1 or 2-2 draw for the Bayer - Bayern game, since it was logical from all sides, but I see that everyone believed the bookmakers and missed out on a big win 
And unfortunately, yes, now Bayern has the title in their pocket.

I tend to argue that this late goal for them could be harmful later down the road because they got away with it in such a cheap way once again. They deserved to at least go through overtime. Bayern really isn't strong, but they are still leading the Bundesliga because in relative terms all the other teams are so much weaker than them. That is the only reason why this Bundesliga season looks as if Bayern is strong, but they actually aren't.

If the next game wasn't at home in the Allianz Arena and it was Frankfurt at home instead, I think I would have taken the risk and go with Frankfurt. Now Bayern probably wins another close one and can be happy about it because Leverkusen sucks in so many games they should have won. If Bayern gets only 1 point against Frankfurt, it is still fine for them. If Leverkusen had won the last game against Bayern, it wouldn't have been as relaxed and Bayern would still feel some pressure, but not the way it is now.

After a week or two of remembering all by myself, I needed this one! Actually just took phone out for a break over a coffee and saw the notification.

Weekend upon us. Bayern shaky in UCL, embarrassed themselves so should be afraid of an upset this week.

I actually like mv1986's argument. I used to say getting bad results but good performances are more valuable in the long run. Luck evens itself out so if you get by cheaply at first oh that bites you nasty later on.
