Little things that bug you/me about the forum

I'm basically always on the lookout for little things to work on...

Especially when I'm taking a break from something bigger (for example, right now I'm working on a way to quickly filter PMs by sender/recipient), I like to stay productive by switching my focus to something else. It's particularly helpful to me (and my energy levels) when I have a bunch of (relatively) easy-to-complete things to pick from. Basically, I work on-and-off on the bigger stuff (which I'm not in short supply of), but I really enjoy bite-sized problems in between.

So, if you can think of something fairly specific that you'd like to see fixed/improved and you estimate it to be a small(ish) task (so, not something vague and big like: "Can you fix the forum's search?", or "Can you improve the forum's mobile-friendliness?", etc.), then please post it in this thread.

I probably won't participate all that much in this topic, but I promise to carefully read/consider every post. If I leave merit on your post (it won't be much, because I'm not a source), it likely means that I've added your suggestion to my backlog and that I intend to work on it at some point. If you see a suggestion in this thread that resonates with you, please leave some merit for that poster; if I notice a suggestion that's attracted a lot of merit, I'll probably add it to my backlog.

One small fix suggestion regarding shrink or expanding the header.
Right now it is only temporary, so every time I refresh or open new page everything is back to default state with expanded header.
If someone is wondering why do I care about this, my reply is because I want to use more space on the screen smarter.
Is there a way to make this a permanent change when - and + are clicked?

I constantly see the updates you do on this forum, everyone knows how much you do for this forum and I believe I speak for everyone when I say we truly appreciate your work here.

I don't know if this is of any significance to others on the forum, but I'd like an "all" option when you click "show the last post of this person" or "show the last topic started by this person". That way all the posts of that person can be on one page when you view and you just have to scroll and read one after the other instead of clicking next all the time.
Also, since you ask for minor things and I'm not too conversant with them, if this is a major change I apologise in advance.

It would be great if there's option to select and delete our posts from "Show the last posts of this person." page.

Currently user who want to delete their old post, they have to open their posts one by one before clicking "Delete" each time. From what i see, user want to do it either due to privacy reason or wanting to delete their old spam/low quality post. Optionally, showing who merited our post or whether it's merited at all would be great addition to prevent user from deleting their own post which received merit.

Now that we're at the subject of requesting small features: it would be useful to have this link somewhere on the user's profile. Now I always have to get it from my bookmarks, and manually edit it. Maybe it can replace the (diabled) Show general statistics for this member. link.

Isn't that intentional, so you don't delete posts without context? When I look at your post history, I see a Delete button on posts in my self-moderated topic. As far as I know (and I'm not going to test that on your post) I can't delete it from there.

Don't rely on the forum data base, draft page, browser or Internet.

If you are composing a quality post, assume is long one, save it locally on your computer. It's simple to open any Note-taking application you have on your computer, before click on Post. If anything is wrong after clicking, you will always have a draft locally and can re-broadcast it with your account.

Even if there is enhancement on it from forum side, you can not trust that it will work 100% times for you. Local draft storage is what will work 100% for you.

Thanks for the good works on the forum, i have this little suggestions if possible it falls under what you may consider, on a situation like this, can we have a button or section like that of Meta board where we can have a statistics of new members log that registers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, secondly, if we can as well have every important forum Meta threads that talks about the forum on a single thread.

This suggestion is not little and does not fall under small fixes that he requires. This also doesn't require writing codes. With LoyceV data you can make what you described.

This is about creating threads and not what PowerGlove expects. Besides, there's Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ But if you have a better idea of such a thread, you can create it.

It’s the one thing I can literally say bothers me and yeah, it might be vague then again, concerns about it has been raised severally to show that, it does constitute a problem to not just some people but all people on the forum and something could have been done about it. Not exactly broken but, needs improvements.

PowerGlove, you’ve been very helpful on the forum and am sure you know just how much the rest of us value you in the efforts you put in to make navigating this space come with much ease. Good to know this sort of activity isn’t just stressful but, helps your energy. Keep up the good you’ve been about.

Thank you for this suggestion. But no, it can't do what I want the way I want it, besides, I read about the function months ago when it was freshly posted. What I want is a forum built and not a third-party bridge installation. Do you even advise me to install that? Then you might not be considering the privacy aspect of it.

Hmm... It's going to take a lot of effort to get my personal notes into publicly-digestible form.

Also, at least in this thread, I don't mind redundant posts (as long as they're organic, as in, a forum member that's just sharing a genuine niggle). If something comes up again and again, then that's useful information on its own. I guess, my philosophy is that the best way to attenuate redundant problem-reporting is to fix the problem being redundantly reported.

Would a btalk app be a realistic possibility.  I wonder how much programming that would take, and if that's the potential bigger constraint or if the main constraint would in large part come down to expenses.  Perhaps a mix of the two.  (this is not an ask, it's a big task I'm sure, just really curious.  Maybe a topic too consuming for this thread, and apologies if so)

Somehow I'd love to be able to chat about general tech and security here.  This is currently not a topic the forum has, and I think it really needs it.  Computer knowledge/security goes hand in hand with bitcoin, and I've ALWAYS got questions, thirsty to learn!

Built in photo upload option.  This would be freakn sweet.  Not having to use imgur and those of that ilk would be lovely.  

I know I'll think of others/better ideas.
