I've been using the script since you posted it, it's cooler than that of my browser. I noticed some issues though like

background display while trying to construct a post :

fix: i just made  td.windowbg2 to style the decendants of td with windowbg2 i.e just spacing it as in ' td .windowbg2'

signature display. Height expands on mobile view and likely tablet view ,making other parts of the signature disfigured  esecially when you try to view profile.

fix: i just removed line 650, part of styling for the added 'processed' class ,


i don't know if you have any thread/ github repo for it but you can update it in the code you pasted here yourself if you approve it.

One thing that has always bugged me is how you cannot highlight a text and use the option to change colour for the entire highlighted text on mobile.

Other bbcode tags work easily on mobile, you simply highlight the text and click on the specific tag to make it bold, include hyper links or any other feature you'll like to add. But when you try to change colour on a mobile device, it doesn't work and the tags appear in front of the text rather than around it, probably due to the extra step of needing to select the colour, but for some reason it works fine on desktop.

Let me know if this is something that can be fixed.

Same here. In situations when I need that feature I try to add the tags first before then writing what I'll like coloured in-between. I still forget sometimes and have to cut and paste into the tag after clicking on the desired colour.

This is just a minor inconvenience for me and lots of others who don't use coloured text a lot, but for the few that do on mobile, it will be very time consuming.

The only solution, a symptomatic one, is to mark all the messages as read and then hope that they don't populate again.

I don't think this has anything to do with multiple browsers, as is suggested in that thread. I'll quote myself here:

You're using the forum the wrong way
Clicking "unwatch" doesn't change what shows up under Show new replies to your posts. For me, that's a long list of topics I've ever responded to in the past 10 years.
But you can edit your Watchlist. That's the list that changes when you click "watch" or "unwatch".

Allow me theymos to blow your mind:

I don't understand why anyone would not use the watchlist. You can configure the watchlist to be exactly the same as "show new replies to your posts" by configuring your posts to be auto-watched and adding your posted-in topics to your watchlist. After this is done, you can unwatch topics that you don't want to see.

Follow those directions, then just stop clicking "Show new replies to your posts." and instead click "Watchlist" from now on. I know from experience changing this habit is going to take a few miss clicks.

Checking the "Show new replies to your posts" option allows you to see replies made in threads you haven't read yet, but have already responded to. It's a dynamic option that changes as you read the replies. At first, it might seem sensible, but once you've finished reading the most recent ones, some older ones might pop up—if you never click on them, you'll never "officially" read them.

The correct option is "Watchlist." It's a wonderful feature that, when used, allows you to accurately follow all the topics you want.

I probably never clicked “Watchlist” button, while I was frantically editing the “watchlist” list of threads, without noticing any effect in the “Show new replies to your posts” list.
I guess it not super intuitive, but not going to argue on this pretty effective solution.

As a Newbie, "Show new replies to your posts." works just the way you expect it to, while Watchlist doesn't do anything. Maybe, since this thread is about improving things, theymos' suggested tickbox "Automatically watch topics after replying to them." should be the default behavior for the forum for new users.

This has been a headache for everyone, which is why I avoid using my phone while browsing the forum. I feel for the mobile phone users. Can't the forum app fix the issue, at least for mobile only? I don't see anyone taking this seriously. Any reason for that?

I knew I couldn't make this a topic because it's not significant enough, so I wanted to let it go till I remembered this thread.

I'm not an expert in this, and I don't know how it works, but I would like to suggest that a post that has been moved by the moderator should not remain on the previous board anymore, because to makes the board look very untidy.



This is an example of the "beginners and help" board, where the moderator is doing a good job by filtering low-quality posts and also moving the topics to the right boards, but this makes the board look disordered to me. I don't know if other people feel the same way, but it bugs me.

Especially on the Beginners board, there's a risk users can't find back their topic after it gets moved. Those "MOVED" notifications are removed after a while.

What did you mean by highlighting doesn't work on mobile versions? Did you meant the bold tag or something else? I have always had difficulties navigating the forum using mobile devices, even with with the Bitcointalk Mobile version extension. That is why I have developed a habit of copy pasting the whole thing/post (if it were too big) and manually editing everything, adding bbcodes like b, i, color tags etc! So I'm not able to understand what are you complaining about!

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done. The forum is not responsive. It is not prepared to work perfectly in the mobile browser, so it generates this situation.

In this sense, there is no way to solve it. You just have to change the way you use that feature.

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done. The forum is not responsive. It is not prepared to work perfectly in the mobile browser, so it generates this situation.

I guess that't understandable given the situation. We are almost at 2026 and yet we are using SMF 1.1.19 (a decade old version, isn't it?). So I'm guessing some things are bound to be un fixable at this point.

As for the feature part, I do the opposite actually! I write it somewhere else (notepad), then edit it, add the desired BbCodes and when I'm finished, I post it here! In this way, I just have to remember each bbCodes and their functions. Yes, not very convenient way of doing it and it consumes more time, but I'm used to it that way!

For as long as I can remember, spammers have used new accounts to create backlinks in their profile. Like this. It would be really nice to remove the possibility to enter a Website (and maybe other text) for any one who hasn't earned at least 1 Merit.
