[...] The second round started with Tunisia facing Gambia. Both teams scored a goal in the beginning of the match. Almost 30 minutes left and Tunisia still struggle to add another goal. I thought they were favourite in their group. There are still topping the group considering the match will end 1 - 1

It sounds like Tunisia had a tough time breaking through Gambia's defense after both teams scored early, but Tunisia secured an important victory over Gambia last night, showing their resilience and determination. After a tightly contested match, Tunisia managed to break the deadlock and come away with a win, reinforcing their position at the top of the group.

I have said before that this Super Eagles squad are united than ever before. Osimhen has shown sportsmanship and love for his teammate, Ademola Lookman. It is easy for people to praise Osimhen as the top player of the national team because he has a bigger name but Lookman has been very impressive in our African tournaments, he deserves his own place in the spotlight for individual performances.

The super eagles have long exhibited the spirit of compatriot and unity amongst themselves and it did not just start from this generation, right from the days of Sunday Oliseh, Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo etc, they have been this united and seeing it happen amongst this generation to me is not a new thing. I  just love the fact that they do it collectively and have recorded success in their outings and even lifting trophies. They do not just do it within their national team, they also display this attitude at club side and I believe this is amongst the reasons why Nigerian players are sort after by the English  clubs.

when I saw the list of countries in the group D that are paired up with Nigeria, I just knew that we've already secured our ticket to the AFCON without any sense of doubt. Who has the potential of stoping the eagles in the group? Is it Rwanda, Lybia or this Benin?. Who is Benin in the first place? Are they even a force to be afraid of? We know that we need to get good results from the qualification stage that will better prepare us for the main AFCON, but it's good we start preparing our minds for the tough journey we still have ahead of us in the coming AFCON.

Teams like Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Congo, Cameron and South Africa have an high chance of qualifying for the AFCON and we know they are far tougher opposition we should be planning for that are by far better than the teams we have in our group for the qualifier. Though we got to the finals through luck in our last outing, we need to tell ourselves the truth that the standard of our games needs to be improved upon if not if we're paired in the same group with the likes of Morocco, Egypt or Ivory Coast, we might suffer from thier hands
Well I won't be quick to dismiss Libya and Rwanda as less of a threat to the Super Eagles because just like I said earlier, they can disappoint you when it matters the most and right now we are singing their praises, jubilating at their performance to a small team like Benin which on a normal day should have been a walk over . I won't say it's over till Nigeria successfully beat them and collect the three points in each game then I will be able to rest easy. If they could wait till the added minutes of first half to get a goal against a poor and weak side like Benin, what will they then do if they meet a side like Egypt, Morocco or even Ivory coast?
I'm willing to keep my fingers crossed till Nigeria passes the group stages.
He isn’t wrong. Rwanda and Libya are not a match for the Super Eagles. We are a superior team in terms of style of football, squad depth, quality of players and football heritage. The nations can cause us problems are Egypt, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Morocco and South Africa. Our records against these countries have not been all that great. The rivalry between the Super Eagles and these teams is not a joke. Don’t be so skeptimistic about the Super Eagles, Nigeria played well against Benin. This is the time to support our players and hype them up for their next game. In the last AFCON, many of us waited until Nigeria got to the semi-finals before we could believe in the players. Let’s not make the same mistake again.

Burundi 0 - 1 Senegal

It was a very boring game, Senegal had difficulty scoring goals and only scored 1 goal thanks to a penalty. Sadio Mané has been very absent in the national team's games and even in Al Nassr's games. It seems to me that he made a big mistake by leaving Liverpool to go play in Saudi Arabia. Today he is no longer the same player that he was in the past, carrying the entire Senegal national team. He may have earned a lot of money by going to play in Saudi Arabia, but he has lost the skills he had in the past and the popularity he had in the past. The Senegal national team is slowly declining. Unfortunately

Mozambique - Guinea Bissau

Tomorrow my country Mozambique will play against Guinea Bissau, this is a very important game for my country, we need to win this game because Mali will undoubtedly beat Eswatini and would have 4 points and Guinea Bissau, which already has 3 points, cannot beat us, because if they beat us then they would have 6 points. So we could start to lose hope of getting a good position in this group.

It is nice to see Nigeria winning by 3 goals to nothing for Benin. However let's admit that Nigeria players are way better than Benin.
No one should even compare Super Eagles players with Benin players. We all know that Super Eagles have a better squad compared to Benin, just that the Super Eagles lack a talented coach who will be able to utilize the players that they are having, but I think their current coach is just better, so we should just expect improvement in their performance in the coming matches, and I don’t think any country should find it difficult for Super Eagles to win in their group, all the countries in their group are weak countries, so am expecting win from them in all their matches.

I don't feel super Eagles lack The talented coach who will be able to utilize the players just as if said, there is no doubt that we have fantastic players but the problem is how hungry are this players for success, we see that they don't put in the effort to show that they really want to succeed, that is why I always advocating for the mixture of some home based players and foreign based players so that you will see the hunger in the homebase players mixed with the experience of the foreign base players,

Augustine Eguavoen the current coach is one man with lot's of experience, he has been a one time super Eagles player, and has also coached on different stages with the Nigerian football federation, from the under17  team, under23 team  and super the Eagles, so for me he has the experience. The NFF has overtime refused to hire an experience local based coach, maybe they thing the services of a foreign coach is most preferable, so I feel at some point the NFF are the major problem we have when it comes to finding the lasting solution to a suitable coach for the super Eagles.

I've been waiting for a non Nigerian person to talk about thier nations progress in this qualifier and this is the first time I'm seeing one. Playing against guinea bissau after they've already won there first leg against Switzerland are are currently toping the group wouldn't be an easy knot to crack for your country. As long as that group is concerned, eyes are on Mali and guinea bissau to emerge out of the group but after the outcome of tomorrow's outing, your fate will be determined.

Our Ghanaian brothers are currently playing against Niger after they lost thier first game against Mali that resulted in a backlash from thier home supporters. So far it's still nill, nill in the first half. The outcome of this game will be what determines if they will make it to the AFCON. Recall that during the last AFCON, they hard a very tough outing and anything that involves another bad result will certainly be a devastating result for the black stars.

That's the spirit, this is the Nigeria we use to know, with this kind of performance I see Nigeria going back to their winning ways, it was unfortunate for benin republic football team not to net a goal that match, be it as it may, Nigeria deserved the winning they got in that match because they were favouite team, I think there is a bit progress and change in the Nigeria team, I see good communication between the players and the coach, this is the factor that mostly determine the success if a team, when problem exist between key players and the coach, it affects the performance of the team because every player has team mates who are his friends as such they wouldnt allow the team manager to victomize their friends and this may lead to intentional underperformance of the team which may lead to either the resignation of the manager or his sack by the management.

though misunderstandung must occur as far as human are involved but the ability to let go of pride and seek for a lasting solution is what actually matters, Nigeria use to be a football country that's much more recognized in the world in terms of football but recently things started changing as if there wouldn't be any remedy to the situation that Nigerian football team is into, with the recent performance of the team, Nigeria senior team coach needs to be praised for their victory on that match, he was in charge and I think his strategy worked very well for the team, if nigeria senior team continue as they did last weekend against their opponent, their lost glory will be regained, congratulations to them for a well deserved winning.

The Senegalese don't have to depend on one person to play a game worth watching... don't they have a football federation that can control and recruit these players from around? I don't wanna be too inquisitive anyway. I never watched the game!

It's an interesting thing to see these regularities from within, just like it happens in European competitions. Senegal had a bad day and made away with just one goal, a penalty. Whatever happens, a win is  a win!

Edit:
when problem exist between key players and the coach, it affects the performance of the team because every player has team mates who are his friends as such they wouldnt allow the team manager to victomize their friends and this may lead to intentional underperformance of the team which may lead to either the resignation of the manager or his sack by the management
Sometimes, it's not even about the key players. Nobody deserves ill treatment... it's the reason why players revolt, holding unnecessary tantrums and therefore, performing below the expectations.

Yeah Tunisia managed to win at the end but it wasn't that easy for them to score that second goal.
In fact, in Group A, Tunisia is the favourite to stay in the first place considering the performance of the nations they are facing. In the other match, Madagascar and Comoros are still 1 - 1 with like 15 minutes left. Such score will make Tunisia 4 points at least in front of all of the other 3 nations.

Normally Nigeria Super Eagles can play ball and the problem we are facing recently is from the technician (coach). Even Benin Republic is not strong enough to play with Nigeria but Finidi was not good enough for the team. And right now George Finidi is asking of Victor Osimhen to come and apologize. Normally Nigeria Super Eagles has not Look down on any team. And now they are saying that they will not look down on Rwanda but they will win the game. And from look of things and the performance with Benin Republic, Super Eagles will Rwanda.

The prediction is uncertainty. Rwanda coach is also saying that they will win Nigeria tomorrow. Well everyone most say that because in the field football, everyone is there to win but one team will win and other will lose or draw.

Well I hope for the best for the Nigeria team because as the Giant of Africa I expect more results from the team. I was quite surprised that Nigeria was able to defeat the Benin Republic with 3 goals which was impressive. At the beginning the match was never interesting to me because I thought the Nigeria team is going to score most of the goals during the first half. I always expect the Benin Republic team to score even though it's a single goal but I was really disappointed that they could not even score. Nigeria has done well and I hope there next match is going to be something similar to this so that their fans can be getting the maximum victory as giant of Africa.

Super eagles are currently doing their best just they lack the ability to make good use of their skill sometimes and when it comes to team work it’s quite different the way they play. I also expected a good first half but it turns out they’ve gotten more force during the second half after the first goal by Lookman during 23mins.

Benin Republic are not so good even when I watch them perform against other Africa countries so I’m not surprised they never had the opportunity to score, Lookman and Osimhen had a great time playing brilliant and it’s good watching super eagles win.

When it comes to trust and unity within themselves it has always been there. What has been their only problem is always the coaches. Most of the coaches dont know how to sync with their players very well. The Super Eagle team currently has a strong spirit i trust their pattern of play. None is greedy on the pitch and none is fighting to be more popular or famous than the other. They all want the best result which is to win and only team play can help them do so. I can't wait for tomorrow to see what they will do to Rwanda.

Just after a few days of nominating Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimehn for the Ballon D Or they have shown the world why they were meant to be nominated against Benin. Undoubtedly they will lead the Nigerian team to victory tomorrow but more is expected from the Nigerian Defends and that is why we have Olisah the man on the number 3 of the Super Eagles jersey. He has been very promising these days. In the match against Benin, he did incredibly well in his defense. More will be expected tomorrow along side other defenders.

We have quality players in the squad that are good enough to beat any team on the continent but the coaching quality seems to be another stumbling block. The NFF turn to foreign coaches because they believe our home based coaches don’t have that level of upgrade and experience but even as we put fate in the hands of foreign coaches, the NFF are too stingy to secure a very experienced one. They get the ones we can offer smaller wages because you cannot tell me you will hire a top manager like Jose Mourinho and he will not do well with the current squad we have.

It will definitely be a slap on our faces if had it been that we did not win the match, first of all we may have to compare the country involved in this match, Benin Republic is in nowhere to stand beside Nigeria both in football and other things, and if we are to look into the past record of the milestones achievement our players have made over that of Benin Republic, we are going to see that its in no way to be compared to what the Super Eagles are up to, and henceforth, they are doubling their performance from this onward on the AFCON.

Nigeria deserved the winning they got in that match because they were favouite team, I think there is a bit progress and change in the Nigeria team, I see good communication between the players and the coach,

If the team have a synergy of communicating to each other as a team work, then their dream also could work together, this depend on the players and the couch in charge, everyone needs each other's support towards a common goal and it will be for the best of everyone's interest.

I agree with you because that is basically what is killing our football in Nigeria here, allocating little money to coaches and players. Some time ago I read about a news on how our players were left stranded after losing a match, I can't actually recall back but am sure such thing did happen. The NFF have to step up now and pay more attention to the Super eagles because they have started producing high quality and professional players from the national team and they also deserves a better coach for the national team instead of ending up hiring less experienced coaches all the time just because of their selfish interests.

No, no, I really don't see it that way, the Nigerian football federation have a budget they have to abide to in order to be able to finance and run all the footballing activities in the country, if they hire a top class manager like Jose Mourinho, they certainly wouldn't have the money to pay him, though the hiring of Finidi George was a complete disaster, because he has zero knowledge on what he was actually doing as the manager of the super eagles.

But the present manager of the Nigerian national team is quite ok, at least he knows how to utilize the kind of players at his disposal, but talking of the NFF hiring someone as Jose Mourinho is simply out of their league financially to be sincere.

Lastly, it's very true that we have lost a rare gem in  late Stephen keshi, and he was certainly the best manager that has coach the super eagles in recent times, but I also believe that we have better coaches in our Nigerian league, and if given the opportunity, they can handle this Super Eagles team very well, so I prefer an indiginous coach handling the Super Eagles team than a foreigner.

He has been very promising these days. In the match against Benin, he did incredibly well in his defense. More will be expected tomorrow along side other defenders.

The long standing problem with the super eagles I think is the coach just as you have said. You see most times when there is no good rapport and understanding amongst them, it looks like they are just being there to just feel up the vacuum but when there is a good relationship amongst them, they would properly sync and their performance would be excellent.

When you talk about the super eagles team being united, that's not different from the truth. Watching their matches would definitely tell you more about their unity. They are united when playing with the sole goal of winning the match which they always achieve. That unity they always have makes them a good and formidable team together.

I think Rwanda is a no match for the Nigeria team as they are a full squad of international players coupled with their exposure and experience in their club side league. I have no doubt in the Super Eagles winning the match.

This is one match I just can't afford to miss today, because judging from the previous performance how the Super Eagles of Nigeria weren't able to play a decent game at Benin Republic in June 2024, when it comes to today's game, I'm pretty more sure our team may have learnt their lesson and ready to make us proud once again, despite the fact that many people still have doubt in our new couch Mr. Augustine Eguavoen, but when it comes to player, i so much believe Victor osimhen is likely to make us proud once again. As this match is likely to end with a correct score of either 2:1, 3:1 or 2:0.
The time for the match is ticking, as many Nigeria's got their whole eyes on Super players to see how proud they really can make us today for Africa Cup of Nation Qualification matches. However, I anticipate the scoreline of the match to end with one of the correct scores you predicted because the match winnings fall in line with the Super Eagles advantage since their full squad will be featured in the match and no excuse for a draw or loss match. By the way, the match is to be played on the soil of Super Eagles, making the match a disserve victory for Super Eagles to appear at the top of the Group D table.

When Benin won the Super Eagle 2-1 around June, it was World Cup Qualification, but today's meeting between both teams is for the Africa Cup of Nation Qualification match. Let's see whether the Super Eagles will end up qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations ahead of Benin, Libya, and Rwanda
Judging from the live score of the match now, it's obvious we have already secured the 3 points for today's game, as the match is currently playing in favour of the Super Eagles at 3 goals to nill, abit different from what i earlier predicted, of which I'm sure this game is likely to end this way, as we just sure Victor Osimhem and Lockman scored our second and third goal at 78 minutes and 83 minutes respectively. So I'm really proud of the Super Eagles for not disappointing us today, and all kudos to our new couch Mr. Augustine Eguavoen for such a beautiful performance this evening. There is hope for AFCON 2025.

I am a big fan of Lookman because he always played in tough situation and he did not care anyone but he always played for his team. He did two goals in this match and he had major impact on the players of Benin team . After that Benin team came in pressure and they could not take good decision for the team and their team lose the match by high margin.  Benin team played it's first match and they lose the match but they should focus on their he improvement because if they improve well, they can get good position on. Points table.  But Now Nigeria national football team team is at top due to postive 3 GD. Every team is working for the win but team work is important for the win and individual could not do anything for the team.

Here we go again as Nigeria super eagle take on Rwanda on their play ground at Kigali by 15:00.

Super Eagle is the favorite team with odds of 1.5 while Rwanda to win is 6.5. Does this mean super eagle will win the match? Absolutely No! Nigeria should not take Rwanda for granted despite their convincing victory against Benin republic in their last match.

Nigeria has recorded one victory and two draw against Rwanda in their previous meetings. What is your expectation today?
