However, I believe that there can be more purposes in gambling. Personally, I play for research and development purposes.

Indeed, don't you think that games can develop you and help improve your skills, for example, in forecasting? I think that games develop.

I've witnessed it on social media, there are people who believe that they can predict the future in the games they play because they are experienced enough to understand the patterns in a game that can benefit them, as if they already know that there are signs for them to get their goals, and the fact is that it cannot be predicted easily even though they have been playing the game for a long time.

A person can be sure of something that he encounters frequently, but what about the nature of the game that is based on luck, it will be very torturous and will make the person fall too far because he is too sure of what he finds when it is not true as he sees it.

Research is somewhat a scientific word, and it conot something that it result and pattern of analysis can easily be repeated.

But in the gambling the pattern of playing is not repeateble and can't be use for future reference, because it doesn't follow a systematic approach, this make gambling game in whatever category to be way out of the content of research based.

Following a pattern and vonurability in play to earn the only help the developers to improve they gaming systems, but doesn't have a guaranteed lay down approach that can be repeated by the players with aim to win the game consistently.

I sure some people might do something like this where they spend some time and money first to try game and really understand how it works and see how every opportunity is there.
This might help someone to play better by optimizing the opportunities and really gaining confidence in success, but on the other hand I don't believe that all of this can guarantee victory.
Games in gambling will almost always rely on luck to get win, but if all that is done to minimize losses maybe I can still believe it.

From my childhood I've been seeing people that will stay all day in bet shops researching and analyzing games. Back then it was in pool shops where you'll see men seriously permutating the odds of football games, now it's bet shops and lotto shops. You'll even see people that'll be giving "sure bets" for a fee and others will buy them, in the end it's luck that'll determine the outcome of any games, whether it's sports or lotto.

What I think is that  being scientific and carrying out researches when it comes to gambling can keep the mind occupied and make the person to think deeply. But what determines wins and losses in gambling is external factors that you don't have any influences so it all comes down to luck. An experienced gambler with all the analysis can lose a bet while a newbie that randomly picked matches can win.

You are very much on point here OP, the real fact is to game and with all angle of strategies just to win and if be possible, the gaming strategy would be of discovering possible steady winning to discover soluble tricks in their daily lives or to keep their minds rolling with funs and then when the strategy is discovered, it is diverted as a source to maintain playing on the gamble of making profits.

Literally no one would be stupid enough to find opportunities to make profits while participating in an activity by which others are thriving for and then just ignores it.

In forecasting, I will prefer to be a professional in the field that I am forecasting. Here is an exampl: If you like to gamble because you are a forecaster, can you forecast how the weather would be? That is not possible. Forecasting can be someone's profession in a certain field which gambling analyses can not be useful.

Then don't gamble. Play something else that have similar aspects to gambling games BUT don't require money. That's the difference between gambling and anything else. Having fun while playing games is possible yes, but spending money together with playing adds that dopamine as you know, which you need to play the game with. better that way and you will still enjoy your gambling as usual when you play and bet. the hope of winning some money is there and it is human for every gambler. but making it something fun may not be all gamblers like that.

the ultimate goal of gambling for research purpose is still to make you a better gambler who wins more often than usual. If I'm gambling for the sake of research, then it will make more sense to me if I can do it with a demo account where I don't need to use real money for such purpose. While you're gambling, you're learning a lot of new strategies and ideas comes with time which helps you make an informed decision in your future prediction. Tagging it gambling for research purpose doesn't change the outcome of your gamble. If after you've played the game you win, you will go home with the money and if you loss, it's still to your own detriment. The main reason why we gamble is because of doubling our money though we just try to create fun out of it just like we do with our regular jobs. No matter how you twist it you end up with the same situation where your end goal is making money out of it, besides, research would not even need actual playing, all you have to do is the analyzing of your possible takes and then the next day see if it was right or wrong!

It's still the same, you either care about the money or you care for the thrill, nobody is doing his PhD in predictions.

I don't playing gambling for research and development because I am not good to do research and I don't have any reason to playing gambling except just to have fun in my spare time. But if you have that reason, that will be no problem for you because we have different reason and that is normal.

You should very strict to control yourself for research to find the pattern or anything else you want in gambling because gambling can tempts you to keep playing gambling without stops. Forecasting, e.g. calculating the possibility of something, is part of statistics. Statistics is a branch of applied mathematics. Mathematics is an exact science. The only way gambling can help you is to calculate the possibility of happening of a specific event and compare it to real-life tests on casinos but I want to say again that Mathematics is an exact science and it doesn't need tests to verify it.

Investigative research is an exciting field. Gambling because you want to discover some challenges and make recommendations is a good reason to engage in gambling. But the process can be time consuming and also expensive. Considering the unpredictability of most games, I am not sure your findings will be useful to gamblers. Sports bets are determined by players performance and not by any scientific influence and human behavior is very difficult to predict. You have set up your strategy and plans that will make you win. That is indirectly your aim for doing research, exploration, and finds with the thought of playing for fun is to win in the end.
