It may seem harsh, but Arteta has a lot to improve on. His team plays well but when it really matters the most they fumble. I'm all in on giving a manager time so I might cut him some slack but Artetat has to do better with Arsenal.

It is shocking and yet interesting to see how Newcastle United have become a tough opponent for Arsenal. I really can’t believe Arsenal played two legs and couldn’t score even a goal. In the last two seasons, Newcastle have been so good defensively when they play against Arsenal and I worry if it is Arsenal’s attack that is not so efficient and reliable or is it that Eddie Howe has understood Mikel Arteta’s playing pattern so well that Arsenal always find it difficult to score against them.

I'm not shocked with the way Newcastle played truthfully. The actual thing that surprised me was Arsenal's inadequate effort.    They were really terrible.

Strong lineup from both teams and your opinion about Tottenham not going down easy is valid. But unlike Arsenal, I do think that Liverpool will win today. Of course it's not going to be easy but very much possible especially with some anfield night magic.

It is funny how these football results are happening unexpectedly against our predictions. With the overwhelming 5:1 victory Arsenal had over Manchester city  fans would have assumed that Arsenal will have this game as a walk in the park but unfortunately Newcastle united are the ones taking the lead with a 2:0  scoreline even after having a 2 goal deficit advantage over Arsenal in the first leg.

It's shocking to know that Arsenal hopes on getting to the finals of the EFL cup has come to a halt tonight by Newcastle reducing their chances of lifting a trophy this season with just the EPL and UCL competitions left to their hopes which isn't all that feasible.

The Caraboa cup is Newcastle only opportunity to win silverware in years. Whereas Arsenal are seeing the Caraboa cup as non priority. They are turning their attention to the premier League and champions League, hoping that Liverpool will slip. It's even better for Arsenal to exit the competition so that their attention won't be divided.

The caraboa Cup competition is one trophy the English men cherish and attach prestige so much on if not even more than the EPL trophy in some cases. Of course It's an opportunity for Newcastle to win a major trophy after many years now, but it was still an priority for Arsenal hence the fielding of their first team players in all the games in this competition including the two games played against Newcastle home and away in the semi's. The premier league is out of their reach in my perspective, and the big boys will knock them out of the champions League as usual. Yes I watched the match and Arsenal fielded their first team players and they did everything possible to get back to the game, after the first leg result. But Newcastle were very strong as well. They hardly gave Arsenal enough space to do them any harm.
Defensively they were good, instead of Arsenal being the more aggressive side, it was Newcastle that were aggressive than Arsenal. Although much of Arsenal problems were caused by Raya. He made some high profile errors that cost Arsenal the match yesterday.

The truth of the matter is, if Tottenham can win against Liverpool today, they can indeed take this Carabao cup home this tournament but the possibility of that happening is very slim to be honest. They need more efforts than ever to make this dream come into reality. Revenge would be winning the league ahead of Manchester City at least once because City is a team that has narrowly won the league from Arsenal for two consecutive seasons. In football, teams win and lose; it is no big deal, but the team that wins the trophy at the end of the season is who won the war. When you win a match, you've won the battle, when you win the trophy, you've won the war.

I really thought that Tottenham would be able to maintain their one goal advantage at least till the end of the first 45 minutes. I was so disappointed when they let that goal enter in the first half. Even if Arsenal could not qualify for the EFL Cup finals at least Tottenham who is in the same shoes with them should see the finals. I would really be happy if Tottenham could lift this trophy but with what I'm seeing on ground, Liverpool is more aggressive and would likely get another goal if the first half is to be extended.

Honestly I did not expect Arsenal to go through after they had already lost the first leg 2:0 to Newcastle but I also expected them to at least win the game by let's say one goal, but to actually lose the game by the same scoreline as the first leg is very embarrassing.
Arsenal keeps focusing too much on the league neglecting other competitions that can easily earn them a trophy at the end of the season.

Since then, I knew Arsenal wouldn’t be able to defeat Newcastle in the second leg of the match because Newcastle wouldn’t allow Arsenal to score two goals without responding to them. But the second leg of the match was also kind of easy for Newcastle, they were able to score two goals in the second leg, which made it 4:0.

Most people expected a better performance from Arsenal in the match since they were able to get a win against Manchester City, so most people were thinking they would win against Newcastle also, but they couldn’t win against Newcastle, they even performed below my expectations in the match. I knew Arsenal wouldn’t be able to win against Newcastle, but I was expecting the match to end as a draw.

Arsenal are out of the FA Cup, EFL. They are just left with the Champions League and Premier League, let’s see how things will be for Arsenal, but with the way they are playing, Arsenal might end up not winning any trophy this season. Liverpool will do everything possible to get a win in the Premier League, and there are other teams better than Arsenal in the Champions League, so I don’t really think they will be able to win any trophy.
