Newcastle United have really been persistent, I've heard it's been 65.5 years, but I'm also hearing it's 70 years. Either way, it's still a long time. Teams have been winning cups, but they keep playing with nothing, showing up for every game, trying and trying.

It simply means that if you haven't tried something for a long time, you don't have the right to give up. That's what I'm seeing from their game. They've had top players come and go, and not win a single cup, but they keep going and keep trying their luck.

To me, this means more than just winning a cup. It's about breaking generational comma and a lot of us didn't see it coming. I mean, they were playing against Liverpool, and we've seen how Liverpool has been topping the chart in this league. But I guess when it's your time, it's your time, no matter who you're playing against. Congratulations to them!

Liverpool really couldn't do much because Newcastle's attack dominance was very sharp to open Liverpool's back line. Imo without Alisson guarding the goal it is very difficult to continue to withstand the onslaught of Newcastle players.

Newcastle really came prepared at least we all saw it, and I was glad they did. Not winning a trophy in 70 years and you had the opportunity to do that especially when your opponent was in a vulnerable state. If Newcastle hadn't seized this opportunity, they might have stayed many years without getting their hand on a single trophy. It was just a perfect timing for them. Well they can push their luck in trying to get a top 4 finish, but I think it will be difficult for them to achieve that. The teams that ahead of them that are eyeing the top 4 are more quipped to win the race than Newcastle. With this cup victory, at least they are assured of playing in Europe. If they can finish in the top 5 it won't be a bad season for them the way I see it.

This is the lesson for underestimating your opponent, instead of playing with full squad in final, you mix it with weaker player.

Changing Alisson with Kelleher is the worst idea, Kelleher's reflect is slow compared to Alisson. I agree Liverpool is under perform in this match, Salah didn't even give a big contribution, but with Alisson, they can at least brought this match to penalty.

However; many teams have recently broken their records against Liverpool; which we believe to be the top team in the Premier League so far; no one could have predicted Newcastle to beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

Furthermore, Newcastle won their first major trophy by defeating Liverpool in the final, the team's first major trophy in many years, while PSG, who had not advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals in the previous two seasons, qualified this season after defeating Liverpool. This isn't the Liverpool we saw at the start of the season, I expected them to bounce back in the second half, and all I see is Liverpool conceding more goals. Actually I still have different opinions on this issue because we see many newspapers that mention 70 years and we see many newspapers that mention 56 years. But among all this, I think the most accurate information is that Newcastle Football Club has been able to take home the 2025 EFL Trophy maybe it was their first domestic league trophy. You're right that this is not the Liverpool we saw at the start of the season, I mentioned earlier that Liverpool were playing with a balanced team but they were still trailing after halftime in this match against Newcastle. Liverpool fans are still assuming that this is not a major trophy they are looking out for hence the reason why they had to risk leave out some key players that would have helped them get the job done most easily and simply. this is almost the same thing they did and got knocked out by a small team because they were reserving players for the Champions League, now the Champions League has disappointed them and they have thrown an additional trophy into the dustbin with the premier league as the only thing that looks a bit realistic that they might be going home with, what happens to winning treble like Manchester city has done?

Newcastle last took the English league title in 1955 and 1968/69 Newcastle won the Fairs Cup, but that is considered an international tournament. That's where the figures of 56 and 70 years come from.

Moreover for the English coach this is the first trophy in 17 years, before that the English coach won in 2007\2008 when Harry Rednap also won the FA Cup.

Congratulations to Newcastle United for winning the EFL cup again after 70 years, the Newcastle United team came for the trophy they were very cautious of Liverpool scoring goals even when they were dominating the game but when they had the opportunity they utilized it to punish Liverpool by scoring 2 goals and defending it before Liverpool could score. I think it was a well deserved victory for Newcastle United and to all the Liverpool fans it's time they concentrate on the league and don't let their losses affect their chances of winning the league title this season.

Last week and this weekend is a treble week for Liverpool football club,  beacuse they just crashed out of the champions league competition over the week by losing in a penalty shootout against the German club PSG and today again they've lost the EFL trophy to Newcastle United. does this signal Liverpool a decline in their form, because I wasn't really expecting Newcastle to defeat Liverpool on a normal 90 minutes game without them going into penalty shootout. Big accolades to Newcastle United for this achievement.

This is football you don't expect a team that has been dominating for a long time without squad depth and across all the competitions they are participating to not be affected by fatigue. Newcastle won them yesterday because the same team has been playing in UCL, EFL, EPL, and many other competitions so it will be difficult them to have the same energy to play a team that is fast with strength as Newcastle.

 The inconsistency in the dates as to when Newcastle won it last doest matter to me , the most important thing is that they did and against Liverpool. When they played Arsenal in the semi's I was hoping the pattern with which they played the Gunners would reflect when they meet Liverpool and truly they didn't disappoint. Is like you did not read the points i made before now. Well, Liverpool is the favorite to win in that game. I was hoping for a draw game like i said earlier because i know Newcastle is as fast as Liverpool in terms of strength and counterattack. Also, I made mentioned of Liverpool players having fatigue as a problem, if you watch their games against PSG you will observe. One Liverpool player was injured and one with a minor injury but managed to play yesterday. All of this problem was part of the reason why i doubted Liverpool to win straight forward.

Liverpool might only win the league. I don't like the way how they throwing all of their possible trophies, and only have PL now. Their gameplay has regressed so hard. They scared to attack, and lack of consistency at defense. That's gonna be controversial if they also throw their last trophy EPL while they have huge gap toward their competitors.

I swear if they still play like that, they will miss a lot of points to lock PL trophy.

Liverpool have failed in the EFL, FA Cup and also the UCL this season even though previously the team was the favorite to win all of those competitions.
