Let's give merit we're it's due, personally I watched that game from start to finish, let's forget United are a top tier team for a second   and admit Grimsby looked like the team that needed it more and from the onset they pressured Utd more and justed looked more determined to get that first goal which they did...

Btw whatever rivalry happened some several decades ago seems to have been renewed, when I heard the commentors say United haven't won Grimsby before I knew United will be f@##&, and at this point clearly Amorim looks like his experiments aren't working even when he has the players...let him stop the nuisance of favourite players and field players by their strengths.

Whatever left of such rivalry I'm sure it ended in the 60s, not a single Grimsby current players and fans came with that mind set yesterday. United were beaten tactically in the first half in every aspect of the game.

Since Amorim took over, United has been poor, but I didn't think they would be just as poor against a team in the lowest division league.  Since there should be no justification for Amorim's failure to improve the team's situation since his arrival, he is solely responsible for his problems.  Since the 3 at the back hasn't worked this season, I thought he might try a different formation @against  Grimsby, but he stuck to his boring 3-5-2 formation.

I never imagined Manchester United would lose against Grimsby Town, I thought even they draw, they can still win in penalty. But, it's not work like expected, Onana once again making his own mistake which lead to goal.

I think the person should be blamed in this match is Sesko and Onana, Sekso is just a hype player, but give zero contribution to Manchester United.

Grimsby Town, which the market value is just 3.6 Million Euros beating a 887 Million Euros team, 3.6 Million in Manchester United not even able to buy one player.

My question after watching this ridiculous match is, what kind of club is this? We really don't recognize Man United anymore. This doesn't feel like a Premier League club, whether it's Sesko fault, Onana, Amorim or even everyone at Man United. The bottom line is they're terrible, disorganized, and have lost everything. Looking at the players ratings after the match makes us realize that Man United isn't even worthy of playing in EFL League Two. 

Grimsby Town is a team that has shown the football world that a great team is not judged by how much money it spends in the transfer market.

At this point, no one knows the problem of Manchester United. Manchester United spends millions every season to sign players and they still find it difficult to defeat even small teams. Manchester United players embarrassed themselves against Grimsby Town yesterday, and that was one of the poorest performances I have seen since I started watching football. A team from the fourth division defeated Manchester United in the Carabao Cup. The defeat has become history because no fourth division team has ever defeated a big Premier League side in football history. Manchester United played against Grimsby as if they were from the Championship.

Manchester United should sell Onana immediately before it is too late because with the current performance of Onana, no other team will want to sign him at this point. It is very shameful for Manchester United to keep spending money every season and still not be able to perform well. Ruben Amorim was having a good performance in the Portuguese league and after coming to Manchester United, he was worse than Erik Ten Hag. Erik Ten Hag is not as horrible as Ruben Amorim because he has won more games than Amorim. If Manchester United tries to fire Amorim, which coach will the squad hire to make them look better?

Manchester United losing to an average team in League Two is historical. League Two even though has number two in its name, it's not the 2nd tier league in England. For anyone not knowing it, EFL is the 2nd tier league, EFL League One is third tier and EFL League Two is fourth tier. So, Manchester United lost against a fourth tier league team.
Since the formation of Premier League (and this tier system) Manchester United never had played a 2nd tier league but with their current performance, Manchester United might create a personal history by relegating to EFL. They'd perform better on that level and it would also clear the doubt about which is the real team in Manchester.

Officially Manchester United are out of the Carabao Cup , knowing that a league 2 division team knocked them out is a big disgrace on their reputation, from losing 2 goals down and recovering, still lost the penalty shoot out by one of the new signings. What are Manchester United doing? They can't win nothing this season, if they continue this way they won't see top 10 in the Premier League.

this loss really humbled so many united fans because there is actually no reasonable excuse they can give as to why they lost to a team that is not even known anywhere. going down two nil just that first half was the worst thing to witness and you could see how much it meant to the club to have humiliated Manchester united in the manner they did. even though they where able to bounce back into the gam and even went as far as the penalty, it remained a clear disappointment that united hard to struggle so much and eventually got beaten by a small team that is not even premier league worthy.

I did think that would have been an easy game for Manchester united. On paper, United should have been the much stronger side but on the pitch, they had an incredible poor performance against a team they should have easily won against. It's really sad at this point.
Onana's role as the first choice goalie doesn't sit right with me anymore. I had expected so much more from him when he initially arrived at the club but it has been disappointing. That game shouldn't have had to go into penalties in the first place as it should have been an easy win for United.

Manchester United's problem is not just Onana, it is deep. In their first games of the season, it was Bayindir's blunder that gave Arsenal all three points. In their match against Fulham, they didn't play well and Fernandez failed to convert a penalty kick that would have been crucial to them sealing a win, and yesterday they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by a fourth-division side. Things just keeps getting worse. Even Amorim admitted after the game that changing the whole 22 players won't solve the problem. It looks like he doesn't even know what to do anymore.

I've tried to figure out their problems but I still don't know where to start from but one thing I'm sure is that Manchester United are undergoing a process and they'll bounce back, I think the defeat yesterday was very necessary so some lazy players would sit up, the club have succeeded in chasing away many bad eggs over there and more would likely leave by January so there's hope.

 The journey to success starts with a step and so far they've taken a step this season, if they try to attend to all areas and the problem doesn't change maybe they can try change the coach but for now, I think Manchester United should give Amorim more time to try work on the squad and motivate them to do better.

You na it's all total embarassement showed by Manchester United. Losing to the a club with less than 4 million valuation. At this point, the better they to exchange their 740++ million squad to the Grimsby squad. What i have seen from all of MU players are red ratings. Their team is cursed, and the better for their manager to leave from there before he got sacked in the morning.
Losing the lead to the 4th tier club is just telling how garbage their club is. All of components in their club should be blamed.

What can this defeat tell us generally?
I think it is time for Manchester United fans to realize that Amorim is t good enough to get the team back to glory, he is a good coach I must say, but United is too big for him because they gave him money to sign players, he brought he desired players to the team but he couldn’t manage them to get what he wanted which is very shameful. If care is not taken, United will find it difficult in the Premier League this season.

Yeah, Amorim's die hard shall stop to back him. He's not good enough as a coach, and this sounds silly, but MU needs someone like moyes who can deal with a terrible team like that. Also Amorim's system doest really fit his squad. Sack him, then replace him with someone else.

I don't think so cause INEOS is still backing him, if they were to sake him, there would've been talks about it all over the media but let's see how the next match would be if they'll consider sacking him if Manchester United lose against Burnley, that alone would cause lots of rants from the fans and force the board to consider sacking him.

Grimsby shouldn't even be going 2 - 0 up against a team like Manchester United, this is a League two team for crying out loud. Things are turning from bad to worse in this team. This was a game that they were supposed to win without stress o the grounds that they used most of their first team players. I was even thinking that Manchester can actually get extra motivation from what has happened in their last two game, then use this one to save face but it's even worse now after this loss.

They are a team that Manchester United just can’t beat, lol… many at times when we look at Manchester United, we seem to recall them from their old self, when Ferguson did manage the club. Well, that team is long dead now and every attempt to revive it has failed. They’ve tried several players, manager and even had CR7 return but, it didn’t work. Nothing is working at the club now and I’m not surprised seeing them lose to a team like Grimsby. I had the hunch they could lose, despite the 1.14 odd given to them by bookmakers.

A fabulous defeat against a team playing deeply in a lower league but I should be grateful to their efforts to score two goals and not humiliate themselves further in the second half.

I am so happy that they are out of the Caraboa cup remaining the FA cup which they will still not compete for or another small team is going to remove them again which will not be surprising.

Does not rule out the possibility Manchester United could be relegated when the season ends, the signs are very clear, the loss to Grimsby is one of them. Overall, Ruben Amorim hasn't been able to deliver a single win this season. Although we understand that the players need time to adapt, Manchester United should have been able to beat Grimsby easily. But the opposite happened, and at a glance, the budget spent on building squad depth seems to have been in vain.

Assuming Manchester United were able to beat Arsenal and Fulham, or at least draw with one and win against the other in their Premier League matches, their fans might have found an excuse for being eliminated by Grimsby. Their excuse would be something like.They want to focus on the Premier League this season and not get distracted by the Carabao Cup."But there’s no room for that kind of excuse, because the results they got in those two Premier League matches show that they are not in good form and that's the real reason why they are so humble now.

While we all are condemning Manchester United for the defeat they faced against Grimsby, it's just so bad that it came at a time when Manchester United is facing challenges in winning matches in the Premier League otherwise whether a 4th division team or a 5th division team, this is football and any team can win irrespective of the quality squad the other team has. Last season in the F.A Cup fourth round a team like Plymouth won Liverpool at a time when Liverpool was in their best performance so all these things doesn't need to surprise us anymore, it's just because Manchester United is the team and since the season started they have always been the talk of people.

Seriously mate Manchester United are still not yet ready for this season, they might hand spent over two hundred million of euros but are still far from competing for anything. Seriously many people saw the Grimsby win as an embarrassment which it is but in my opinion a blessing in disguise for Manchester United fans because this will actually send a signal to everyone at the club that this club is getting worse and the next stop might be them getting relegated to the championship.

Firstly i have always said that the two current goalkeepers are not anywhere near the stand of goalkeepers that Manchester United have had over the years and any club having a goalkeeper problem is definitely in trouble. Look at games where goalkeepers single handedly win their club matches. M

Another position is the central midfield position, for me Manchester United currently have like a hole in their heart without a proper central midfielder and this last few days to the closure of the transfer should definitely be utilized well, January is vey far if they don’t get things done

If I was a Man U fan, I don't think I would be able to face this shame brought to the team yesterday without crying in tears and probably withdrawing my support for the team. I don't think so. I would have just done it because what kind of shame is this for cry oout loud. A club like Grimsby Town playing the United team head to head up until they reached the penalties and still going further to win the game after a second round of penalty shootout. The way the Man United team played shamelessly yesterday was one of its kind allowing a small club like Grimsby Town to lash you guys to the finish and still losing the last chance which was in the penalty shootout. This is signalling to the fact that Manchester United will not perform even in this season's EPL. Tuer!
