Cashback with wagering requirements and same bonus make sense?

Recently, I avail a special promotion sent to my email by a casino that I will not mention the name.

They offer me a 30% bonus on my deposit and the only requirements is just x10 wager so I become interested to deposit. As the game progress I notice that my wager doesn’t count towards my bonus so I ask for the support about the error. They point out to me that the bonus will just take effect if my main balance will lose first.

So this bonus categorized as cashback not a deposit bonus and worst it has wagering requirements. It’s my fault to not read the bonus ToS first but the email is clearly a deposit bonus.

Just be aware and always read the ToS, casino nowadays are using this method to encourage user to deposit thinking that it will be just a regular deposit bonus. Always read the fine print.

Those deposit bonuses are one of the reasons why i'm always strict about the kind of bonuses I should take. They make it sound too good on paper then hit you with the bonus requirements once you're on the site.

If you fall for it again, you should be able to cancel the cashback bonus and keep playing with your deposit.

I also made a similar mistake years ago. One of the new casinos I used automatically activated the deposit bonus after registration and it got me confused once my balance went up higher than what I put in.

Yes, if it's too good to be true, doubt it.

10%, 20%, and I even saw 50% offers of cashback but if you really look deep inside after you signed up, you will see the difference. The problem is, you won't see this on the outside because they will try their best to keep it and only for the eyes of registered accounts. It's not about the TOS, it's the clickbait promotion that makes it wrong and they will make it confusing so it will be difficult to understand for many people until you make a mistake and forget to read carefully.
Not many gamblers read the TOS, that's common knowledge due to laziness, they always just want to register and play without looking into other information.

All bonuses have certain extra clauses added to it. Even freebets usually come with a timeframe to use them before they become invalid, so you should do well to read the exact terms before joining a bonus deal.

If a casino makes it difficult to get the exact details of a bonus offer or add to many terms and conditions which makes in altogether unattractive while only marketing it on face value, I may not be playing for long on that casino.

I have noticed this type of thing these days. But it was a local Casino in my country. The wager bonus was supposed to be 100% so I deposited 3k. I wagered it to 5k in the next 12 hours hoping to see my bonus but i didn't get it because it was all a lie. The funny thing is there was no rule in their TOS about losing first before receiving any bonus.

This is a reminder we should not gamble in any casino we just come across. Not all of them keep to their words. Some of them use the bonus to attract users at the end of the day those users never return to the platform again.

The OP is not blaming the casino for his challenge as he stated that it was his fault for not reading the ToS before maximizing the bonus offer. It is common to see the phrase "Terms and conditions apply" to almost every offer given by some betting companies as well as other organisations. Sometimes these offers are so attractive that we fail to read the ToS. Thank you for telling us about your OP experience because it will serve as a reminder to me and others.

exactly, always read the fine print especially when it comes to promotions/bonuses since they can have some rules that would take you by surprise since it is not stated on the promotion/bonus ad. I've seens instances of gamblers complaining here in the forum about bonuses/promotion because they thought they have completed the requirement but in reality they haven't because they didn't follow the ToS specific to that Bonus/promotion.

So it can be concluded that this is an indirect fraud, if it does not match what they write and practice, maybe this can be used as a reference if someone says that cashback deposits must be a little careful and avoid casinos like this.

Every bonuses from promotion will have requirements so we must make sure that we are understand every rule. We can take the promotion after we read the terms and conditions from the promotions. Every promotion will have different rules so we must know about that and we can avoids misunderstanding.

Even if the promotion doesn't mention anything, we can ask to customer support if we are not sure so we don't make a mistake. It is better we don't chase the bonus from some promotions if we don't want to read the terms and conditions.

I'd say it just has to do with the nuance of the words used? Not sure how but they probably had some crumbs as details on their invitation towards their bonus that was sent to you. It's the usual marketing scheme really, and it's not only casinos that do this? Anything with bonuses like businesses like Amazon has some sort of drawback to it that would make you spend more first before anything else.


Sometimes I fall for it as well and at that point I just let it be. It'd just be rather tiring at the end to fight back and well, at the end it's still a sort of bonus, just not what I expected.

This is actually really bad on the platform if they are proven to be advertising false claims about their services but some platforms can get away with it by essentially confusing their customers.  They will be ominous and mysterious about a specific promo or maybe use complicated sentences that you won’t even realize what you are agreeing on. This way when you complain, they can show and say “look! i never said that” it’s all really dirty

I already wrote in the BetFury ANN thread about their new bonus conditions, and even though I said I would never play again with the bonus I did it again. After wagering a lot I got a bonus from their stuff, 75 $1 spins on one of the slots I play often... so I deposited $160 and from those 75 spins, I won around $130. I played like crazy, and in one moment I was over $700... then a huge drop to under $200. Long story short I completed the wagering requirements with over $280 balance. After pressing complete the bonus they deducted my balance to $199.



Support explained to me that while wagering I lost all my money first, so I ended up playing with only the bonus money... So my max win was $130 (money I won from free spins) x1.5, and how I get even a few extra dollars. This is indescribable nonsense... I don't know what is worse, the split balance where we spend our money first and then the bonus money, or the fact that the winnings are limited. Those are slots, we risk a lot to wager x40, and if we hit something nice during playing that doesn't count.

"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"! Well, I am the stupid one here, I know that... I learned my lesson the hard way, once again.

Bottom line, if you see that one of the bonus requirements is "Max Claim" (the maximum amount to claim from the primal bonus) just close it... don't even try to play it, because if you win you will be more disappointed than if you lost.

TBH, the wagering is not really the worst.

Cause it's only 10x while mostly deposit bonus is always minimum 35x waggering. IMO, these bad scheme is on (Name & Lack of information) & from my perspective taking a bonus in some casino are really2 not quite good for rightnow.

People already love with weekly, post, and other bonus stuff like these without waggering.

I have seen a rule like this in one of the casinos, that the wager requirement will start to count when we use the bonus balance but the bonus will start to be used when our deposit money is empty, so we really have to be careful and sometimes the wager requirement will be calculated differently between sports betting and casino games and also low HE games, so players really have to be very careful and read all the bonus rules because bonuses are not free money that we can just enjoy, and asking their live support if there is anything in doubt is the best way.

If we examine more clearly each email message received regarding the provision of bonuses by the gambling site we use, there is actually column that usually says terms and conditions, usually I always read it first and understand everything in the terms and conditions of the bonus.
But I don't know if you missed it and only read the message containing the deposit bonus, what is clear is that if we are interested in casino bonuses without understanding all the applicable terms and conditions, there will definitely be other things that might make us disappointed.

This schenerio often happens to us and it is usually as a result of diving into singing up on a betting sites without making a Proper research. We are attracted to it due to the bonus used In the advertisement of such betting site. Believe me that most of the betting site usually come up with an amazing bonus offer on advert, which may not be entirely true only to leure people in and you see a difference thing. That's why It is good whenever we see such an offer we read the Tos to know the exact procedure before signing up or even depositing fund. Or we can check there review on Google playstore from different existing users or on trustpilot sothat if the Tos are not comfortable with us then you totally avoid it.

You must always verify each promotion/bonus you are going to accept. It must also be clear that not all promotions are profitable. This could depends on your gambling habits, games that you like to play and so on.
In this specific case I will not blame the casino. Its only your decision join a promo or not..
