I'm sorry I didn't include the Arsenal squad with Henry and Bergkamp in my first post... :) We will never see players like Lehman, Pires, Cole, Campbell and Ljunberg playing at the same time again in this world. I am a fan of the English Premier League, but if one day the English Premier League loses its status to the Saudi League, I will become a fan of the Saudi League. When it comes to the land I don't live in, I am a fan of what is beautiful. That's why I follow the changing dominations over a period of 5-6 years...

However I’m curious whether some of you have changed your favorite teams over the years. It is not as simple as having a different favorite food compared to when you were 10. A favorite sport team, to me at least, will always be your favorite. So if you did change your favorite team, what was the reason?

My favorite sport is the UFC, and since there are no teams we choose fighters, and things can hardly change when we talk about UFC, i remember those times when ronda rouse used to be the #1 woman fighter, and after that fight with holly holm she wasn't able to win anymore, but she used to be one of my favorite fighters, and what about Conor Mcgregor, that guy used to have the strong to KO anyone in the first seconds of the fight, and after getting his second belt he lose motivation and since then he hasn't win anymore.

A favorite sport team, to me at least, will always be your favorite. So if you did change your favorite team, what was the reason?

Well this is quite understanding based on the fact that when you observe lasity from your favourite teams it'll definitely affect the energy and love you have shown for it but it's not something to be worried about cause they might still bounce back together, i know of a guy that loves changing teams based on the winning aspects. Today he's in Chelsea tomorrow he's in Manchester and all of that cause he can't give himself that patience to see his best team win. For me I'm stucked to just a team and that's how it'll be whether they play right or wrong they are still my favourite.

My favorite sport team is two. One in the English league and the other in the Spanish LA Liga. In the English domain, I like Chelsea and have been very hopeful they do better while Real Madrid does the magic for me in the LA Liga.
I like the style of play of both teams and that's why am a good fan. I also tried having their jerseys and follow the club sites to stay current with the news and update they share.
Being a fan isn't a fo or die affair for me, it just ensures that fellow bros have something to discuss when they sit together and every weekend or mid week is a nice time to catch up on matches that they play while using it as an excuse to avoid some kind of family and friends drama.

so far i don't have a favorite team after beckham didn't play football anymore and out from MU , i watch the match not by looking at the team but my favorite player is in which club and that's where i will watch the match of the team where my player plays with his club, win or lose i will be loyal to my favorite player

I am from the Chicago-land area, so my favorite sports teams have always been the Chicago Cubs, Bulls, Bears and I guess you could say Blackhawks, though I don't really care for hockey that much.  Now when you've been a Cubs fan for as many years as I have, you know you're a loyal fan.  I also like the Tampa Bay Bucs and Rays as I've spent a decent chunk of my life living in that area.  I would never change my favorite teams but if they ticked me off enough I'd stop watching them, like i've done with the Cubs and Bulls.  I rarely bet them, too much stress.

I used to be a Manchester United fan, maybe from childhood to adulthood I remained a Manchester United fan. And at that time I was a Manchester United fan when Manchester United was still coached by Alex Ferguson, and during his time as Manchester United coach I became his fan to the point that my clothes, room paint, and posters all had pictures or logos of Manchester United and many more. But when Alex Ferguson was no longer the Manchester United coach I started to dislike him. And for betting matters I never combine betting with my idol, and I bet based on my research results by looking at team statistics, player injuries, previous performances, and other relevant information that will help me make the right decision and increase my chances of winning. This is about betting that involves money, so I think liking something doesn't mean we have to sacrifice money just to bet, especially if the opponent is superior.

Sports fans are one of the most dedicated and most loyal kind of people I know. It doesn’t matter what the sport is, all fans pick their favorite and stick with them through thick and thin. Maybe it’s a bit difficult to explain to someone who doesn’t follow sports as intensely but being a fan of a team doesn’t mean supporting them only because they are winning.

Even if your favorite team constantly loses or shows bad performance, you are still a fan and you are still hoping for them to gain back momentum and start winning again. If someone were to change the team they support based on the result, how fun will that be? Nothing will bring a sports fan more delight than seeing their favorite team climb their way up to the top.

I am a die hard Indianapolis Colts fan and have been since I began watching sports in the 1980s. We sucked balls until the late 90's when we got Peyton Manning. A few years later we started putting together some good seasons and even won the superbowl. Manning was an awesome QB and holds many records.

Now your question is what is the reason I changed my favorite team? I did not per se change my favorite team, but I did start rooting for the Denver Broncos when we traded Manning to them. While we didn't still have the QB that did so much for us, I still liked watching him play no matter what team he was on.

I think having a favorite player is a better question and for me that was/is Manning.

Changing your favorite sport team doesn't show any sign of loyalty or dedication to the club, if you can change your favorite club due to the fact that they are underperforming or having a rough season then it means you are not really a true fan of that club. Having a favorite team means you can stand and support them whether they are losing or winning constantly. Before choosing that club you had your reasons, there's something about it that just captivates you. Manchester united is in bad form right now and they hardly win any match but this doesn't mean I would stop being a fan of the club. This is a simple display of passion.

But for me, it's not too much of a limitation on the favorite team, I'm happy with the sport,
but I'll only choose the favorite team during the match, so I don't limit which team I support.

This will be very useful on a bet so that I can be realistic enough to choose which team will win the bet and not be limited by the choice of favorite team or others.

But there are also people who make bets that will only pick Win or Draw on the favorite team they support, because the opposing team is stronger.
And of course the chances of winning are very few.

I am an Arsenal fan and I will remain "gunner for life" I had been a fan of the club as far back as in 1996 when the likes of Kanu, Tony Adams, David Seaman, Lauren, Dennis Berkamp etc while Arsene Wenge, r was ge the manager then, even during the bad period of Arsenal due to not winning any trophy I sticked with the team, then when Mourinho was managing Chelsea and were in their game yet I was never interested in that club because I remain gunner thus I never buy the idea or habit of changing club supporting team, however there some fans who only support current champion

There would be those individuals who are really that not minding that much about winning up a particular match as long they could be able to bet along side with their favorite team and not on the crowd favorite with that current bet line. I do have on the same behavior as you on which im not really that limiting myself on trying out to stick into a team on which i do like because i do make out multiple bets then sticking into one will really be just that resulting on having that long wait because the games that available will really be basing up on when they would be playing. If you are a die hard fan then you will be waiting up and thats something that will really be boring in my part.

The important thing on here is that you do bet up on a particular sport you do like and doesnt matter on what team as long you do seem that they do likely win up the game then this will be your choice
on which of course it will really be always the favorite but we do know that upsets do really happen. Doesnt matter whether you will be focusing into the team or a certain player, as long you do enjoy
on what you are doing and not really chasing up on making money then you are really just that doing fine.

My favorite team (football one, which is Manchester City) is far  from the class of the frequent losers  but should they find themselves in it I would probably change my mind in supporting them. Being in the pub and support the constantly losing team would not be pragmatic behavior and would have appeared ludicrous to an onlooker, ^{(moral doesn't applicable to  this case I think)}.

There are not many Manchester City fans in my country, the ones who claim to be City supporters are actually former fans of other clubs and they switched to Manchester City when Pep arrived and City started winning trophies. So in my country, when someone says they are a Manchester City fan, everyone believes that you are a disloyal fan who abandoned your original club because City does not have a strong fanbase here.

Honestly, I don’t even think I have a favorite sports team. I’ve always been loyal to players, not teams. Kevin Mitchell & Shaquille O’Neal being a couple of my favorites. I do always cheer for my home team, so the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, & Sacramento Kings were my teams growing up. I still have love for the Sacramento Kings, but I’m a Phoenix guy now so it’s all about the Suns and Cardinals.

I do change my favorite teams when they become clowns. It's normal for a fan to look for a better team that's always in the semis or finals.

Football, basketball, hockey, and any other team sports. We all have passion for these sports but you rarely see someone who's a loyal fan even after a lot of roster changes.

For me I was a man united fan back then but I was not that intense as others do, I just like them but never bothered to take it to another level. At a point I just slide away because of constant failure. Although it is difficult for most people to continue being a fan to a failing club. Because you must face humiliation and feel intemedated among friends and other counterparts who rep another club. The most annoying part of being a fan and see your club lose back to back in a season and you can't even argue, talk or but your chest that your club will do better this time and they suprise you. Instead they keep on disappointing you, so I think the possible reason that causes most fan to slid away is constant losing of their club and not being able to regroup for positive result.

I moved once, but I was still a child and my grandparents blackmailed me a lot.

Today I am a fanatic fan of at least two teams... one national (Brazilian) and one European.

I hope they never play in a world championship, because if that happens I don't know who I would root for.

The interesting thing is that we even bet in favor of our favorite teams, even when we know they have little chance of winning a match. Has anyone here ever bet against their favorite team?

The most I have managed to do is stop betting on certain matches, because it makes no sense for me to root for someone but bet against them.

For fanatic bettors, there are two weak points... controlling the addiction and being "seduced" into betting against the odds and in favor of their team.

Well people really change especially if they experienced something not good on a team , such as having consecutive big losses after all . So i think even you as a huge fan of the team for sure you will jump out as well.  Coz just  imagine if you were on the situation, is it worthy to stay?.   I think that's a big mistake ,wherein much better to pick a new favorite team that for us as well we can get benefits after all. And that will be fair when it comes supporting a team. Give and take.

I am basically a football lover that's why I hate the game of football the most. In the past I was addicted to Manchester United team, because Manchester United performed very badly in the current position and I gambled against them again and again.  Later I suspended betting on my favorite team, but I didn't quit. 
The question here is that it is normal to have a favorite team but it is not easy to change, because if you focus too much on your team and bet you will definitely lose. So currently I favor other teams more for gambling because I need to win the bet the most, that's why I postpone betting on favorite team.

Real dedicated fans don't change team because constant failure, sometimes football team faces challenges so as a fan leaving them at difficult time really shown you are not a die hard fan because I don't believe it will be possible for a to always be losing matches sometimes they win and sometimes they loss so we are suppose to be with them in a good and a bad season.
Am a die hard Manchester United fan their performance this season really made me to change team but I said not for I have been Manchester United fan since 2003 so it was very hard for me to change team and switch to another now that they not performing well I believe they won't continue like that for long.
Am still a Manchester United fan till last breath.
