Tell your wife that you are going "pump and dump" her rather than 'hodling" her like you have been doing...

Oddly, both my parents are on board. Not because they really understand it but because they think I do.
My sister and her banker boyfriend, however... their loss.

Sexism aside, ask her what she would recommend as an investment instead. Compare expected % growth and assess the risk of anything she suggests. If she has nothing to offer then she shouldn't be so critical of your investment.
It really bugs me when people complain but offer no constructive input of their own.
If you (two) are investing then bitcoin should not be your sole investment. An good portfolio will have a distribution of risk vs reward across many asset types.

There's no single woman in the world holding Bitcoins, so they are irrelevant and amateur. Hold it.

You can bet all your bitcoins and you can bet your marriage that your investment is not a wrong one. The bitcoin will go high again. The problem is only "When" and not "If".

Lol'ed at many comments here.
From $2.80 when I first bought I started educating wife and family on Bitcoin I've been shunned somewhat. To ease the conversation I sold 2/3 of my coins around $10 to cover my investment and buy some gold. So I could lead with: "this is 100% speculative" and "I have no downside risk"
I also gave my wife some coins on a paper wallet.
The dynamic was the same when it fell from $1000, I was the idiot for not cashing out everything.
I now just offer to sell my wife's coins while I insist on holding, and point out only those who know when to buy will have a good idea when to sell.
Funny thing has happened my wife now stresses over the price and I lol.

The misogyny is thick in this thread.
That said, I avoided the wife problem early on by never acquiring one. A wife is a serious financial commitment and, in modern times, a potential long-time liability. You should make a decision to invest in one only with very careful consideration.
Bitcoins you can buy a little bit of here and there and use online pretty much anywhere these days. You don't need to invest as heavily into them and they usually pay out after a year or two. They might end up being worthless someday, but they don't typically come with any additional non-financial obligations.
Invest thoughtfully!

problem is: no wife = no kids. now kids are no investment, but if you ever wondered about the meaning of life and your special role in it, kids can be helpful answering that one. i recommend kids, they are miracles.
