Injuries were part of what ruined City's season, then there is also the fact that his players weren't as good as they were, despite all that he still finished 3rd and only a couple of points behind Arsenal which apparently have a wonderful manager.

Stone, Akanji and Diaz were all injured at a point too. Kevin De Bruyne was injured too; he came back from injury and was a shadow of himself. Man City had to rely on Gundugan as their pivot, a player even Barcelona, which is not financially buoyant, refused to keep after just one season. A player who was old and couldn't even press.
Rodri was the main missing player, but he was not the only player they missed.

I'm not even making excuses for Pep; his team played poorly this season; I'm just stating that one season of underperformance doesn't mean he's finished. Every manager has seasons when they don't perform well. Even Klopp had those seasons, it's only heignthen this much because it's Pep, the manager that has always been successful.

I think what they need right now are wingers. Savio, Doku and Grealish are not effective, especially Grealish. Savio and Doku may be good dribblers, but they lack a quality end product. If they can fix that, then they're good to go. I don't even know what to say about Foden.

This tournament is like the old Champions League format.    8 groups with 4 teams in each one of them. The teams finishing in the first 2 places qualify for last 16 round and so on. Exactly the same.

The only interesting part is that there are teams from many different regions. But is there anyone expecting a non-European team to be the champions? I have 0 expectation about it. But still every team will make a really good sum of money even for only participation.

The problem is that there is no hype at all for this tournament.
The media here barely talks about it while for the Champions league they start talking a week ahead.

That's right, because even for some big European clubs this could be used as a trial for their preparation for the season that will take place in the new season with some adjustments for new players, coaches or schemes that they will run later.

This could be a natural thing to say as a glorified friendly match, although indeed for some clubs they might look highly at this competition in order to get more attention in terms of popularity, especially for some players who could possibly be glanced at by big clubs but in the end the enthusiasm for the inter-club world cup will clearly not be as big as other official competitions.

But even so, as a form of entertainment, this is still good enough to wait for because after all this will provide a good treat, especially in a competition that is currently still on holiday because the season is over.

Fifa tried to make a big deal out of it but there just isnt enough hype around this. Players just want to go on vacation and rest and now they need to play another tournament again. Fifa is just putting too many matches out there and just greedy for money. Im expecting a lot more injuries from players in next couple of years due to so many games.

yes, and this is done during the month of the USA draw, followed by 32 clubs, where each country is limited to the number of clubs. That's why there are some top clubs in certain leagues that are indeed absent.

but, indeed, like, what ?? the players really can't rest optimally. Fortunately, some of the top clubs prefer to use the second tier to join the championship.

Oh yes, of the many matches, the match between PSG vs Atletico Madrid will be the most interesting one.

Who knows the amount of pressure, persuasion and money they put in this in order to get Ronaldo playing it. I was happy when I learnt that Ronaldo declined and acknowledged that he is aging and would not have to play every competition.

This is a total quest for more money and it will negatively impact the players when season resumes properly

People creating injury crisis excuse for Pep Guardiola now were same people who were bashing other managers when they were crying out that the injuries have eaten into them. No body is disputing the fact that Pep Guardiola is a great manager in such a way that he is in the top tier of great managers ever with some arguably saying he is the greatest manager of all time. Pep decline this year proves one thing, no matter how tactical he is he simply needs high classy players to make his tactics work, and the past season showed that he can turn average players to winners like people usually point out.

I have always been sayin this the Pep Guardiola squad depth has been the cheat code in his dominance of the league, it was after the departure of some top players that is when he started having problems, so excuse are allowed but it defines Pep Guardiola which is he requires money to build a team

I believe PSG will win without much difficulty. After all, they're theoretically the best team in Europe, since they won the Champions League. What I'm really curious about is how the Brazilian teams will perform against these European powerhouses, especially Flamengo, which is the team I support. The first opponent is Espérance, a club I've never heard of before. Does anyone here know them?

It is not easy to predict which team will win the title. Strong teams like City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG and Inter Milan will compete. Among them, Inter Milan and Real Madrid could not win any title despite having strong squads and performing well. PSG won the Champions League title. Even then, Luis Enrique will try to win the FIFA Club World Cup title.

Apart from renowned teams, clubs like Porto and Al Hilal have strong squads. These teams will want to prove their capabilities. However, I consider Real Madrid and PSG to be the biggest favorites in this year's FIFA Club World Cup.

You don't want Liverpool or Manchester City to win the league, so who then do you want to win the league? I have had this sentiment that I would have love a situation where by events should change atleast for other teams apart from Manchester city and Liverpool should get the title too but considering what's happening it seems impossible because Arsenal aren't serious, Chelsea on the hand will start serious sometimes from the start of the season at a time uninform teams will start winning them, Manchester United has become a full time jokers themselves, Totenham is nothing to write home about, Newcastle United will put up efforts but still won't maintain it to the end where will I start from but look at Manchester city if not for last season that things weren't what it use to be with them other seasons we experience a good performance from them, football enthusiasts can attest to that, Liverpool are formidable force themselves we saw what happened last season that alone is a good evidence that they arent joking if not that they aren't lucky in UEFA champions league, to me I believe that these aforementioned team deserve what they get and any other team that want to be like them should work for it, it is as simple as that.

As for Rodri I won't say anything much on that note because I already know that a tree does not make a forest so with or without him what happened to them last season would've still happen afterall he isn't the best player in Manchester city although he would have done his best but that wouldn't have anything still.
