Not that you never bothered to keep it.
Back up doesn't mean much

It's very unlikely to recover your coins, but if I had $700k worth of bitcoin at stake, I'd attempt everything to recover it. I just remembered what I've watched from an actual data expert said. The files are there and they're never deleted and there's a possibility of what I've said that it's still there or the other one that OPs consultation with data recovery experts. If they've ever touched his computer, that's it, there's no need to have some hope with it. But then, if it's just an online consultation, there is still some hope in it. But we need to hear it from him if he ever saved a copy of file that he's written those seeds or a .dat file in that computer.

To bad that it happens since 7 BTC is huge amount. But try to find another data recovery expert since maybe the first person you get is not actually an expert and know simple methods on how to recover what you ask him to do.

If you let it slip around then that's huge money lost from unwanted situation.

Tried to research some tutorials about data recovering but I think its risky to try since there's money involve to recover. So better just seek for help as stated  on experts where you can personally go so that you can monitor their actions and solutions made.

Truth is, you had no idea that Bitcoin would turn out the way it is today, so wiping your computer at that time wasn't a problem.
If you had actually wiped it of recent, then it would have been a silly mistake. I think most people still play silly games with their holdings even at this very stage where the need to store ones seed phrase is no longer new. Earlier this week, I learned that someone's phone was stolen, and the phone contained the person's assets, both on an exchange and in a custodial wallet. The annoying side is that the victim didn't even backup anything, from his self custodial seed phrase to his exchange login details. Which means, whatever he was holding on both platforms are literally gone. I just couldn't react well because i was actually angry at someone who doesn't know that there is a need to backup sensitive information like that.

Well, as for you Op, not sure if there is any special tool to perform any recovery on that HD, but considering the number of years, i guess the HD must have gone bad by now. You will certainly remember this, but it shouldn't wear you down.

Each one of us might have made some mistakes in the past and with the knowledge we have acquired now, it will be difficult for us to make same mistakes again. Literally, i used to be someone that don't care about backups of any vital information i store in my computer but after coming across posts about people who lost valuable things in their computer when it crashed, i started learning how to make a backups of everything in my computer should in a case of an impromptu shutdown or crash, i can be able to recover them again. Imagine how you lost 7 BTC just as a result of laziness. I know the worth of 7 BTC in my country now, anyone with that kind of amount in bitcoins is a very big man.

In that it seems considered already a loss reason why having a backup is a must even its offline, like other peoples mistake this could be a charge of experience but imagine the number of things you can do with the 7 BTC now if you are still engaged with the crypto space I guess you learned from your mistake and now have your back up and seed along with you incase this might happen again at least you have the chance to recover your money easily but again make sure its with the hardware wallet even you have the seed and even its online and your wallet get compromised still consider a huge problem.

This assumption is very possible but Op did not mention giving them the work to try out, he only said he consulted them but hasn't been lucky yet unfortunately. I would definitely assume same if he shared a complete story on what transpired between him and the data recovery experts. Although, I never experienced such with a PC but once had a problem similar to what sokani shared with my phone and fortunately was able to recovered everything I was looking for.

Three things maybe involve in this story from my understanding.
Firstly, either the story is a cooked up one and never happened,
Secondly, either Op did not explain very well to data expert what actually happened or they're not really experts as Op assumes and,
Thirdly, they already have access to the private key as you assumed.

Indeed its painful to lose money for some mistake committed but what things we could do? Instead of getting a lot of stressed for thinking about those mistake made better to move on and make sure that same situation will not happen again.

Those losses especially what OP experience is so expensive lesson to learn and I guess better to move on that situation. Although we know its hard but if he stop thinking about those losses for sure he can get over with it. Better try to focus on other thing since provably he can earn that back again especially if he can invest huge amount on Bitcoin or other good investments out there.

Ouch I can only imagine...and think can relate to this as I have lost coins I have had for several years from faucets,  airdrops you name it and all because my laptop dropped and mechanical drive failed to boot after that...watched several videos to see how I can try revive the hard drive,  got to the point of buying a similar harddrive in trying to transplant whatever I can but nothing seems to work, last resort was sending it to pros in a lab but that's a gamble am not willing to take.

And can't remember any backups as I lost access to other platforms as my 2fa was there too and had to start all over again.
