Random vs Lucky numbers

I'm opening this thread because I am curious about what the general trend is among the forum members regarding this topic: if you have to choose, do you prefer to pick some random numbers, even using a random number generator, or you prefer to select your "lucky" ones?

I'm not superstitious most of the times, and I frequently select the automatic filling option with random numbers so as not to waste time, instead of selecting them by hand. In the end, the chances are always the same no matter the numbers you choose. But I'm asking this question because there are times when I prefer to follow my inspiration and select "special" numbers, or avoid "ugly" ones.

It's funny, we all know "random number generators", but I've done a search and there are also "lucky number generators" based on numerology   

So the question is: you don't care about the numbers and fill them automatically, as they all have the same chances to win, or you tend to pick your preferred ones (birthdays, favourite numbers,...) manually?

I tend to pick my preferred numbers. It looks like the normal way of doing it even the password we use are not so random as well.  I think there is something on those birth dates that I want to prove my kid's birth date is a lucky day or my wife's birthday is a lucky day.  There was a time that I won which is kind of true.

I go by birthdays or any important numbers but sometimes I include as well just some random numbers depending on the day. I think they all have the same chances so I don’t really care much but I still want to think about which numbers I would put lol. I guess it’s a bit ironic that I don’t think there’s any difference but I still take the time to choose the important ones,

Sometimes I even think that picking important numbers is easier than random ones because you already know the numbers you will put.

I have recently been thinking about this issue and have come to the conclusion that we need to bet on the numbers that we choose ourselves, because if we choose random numbers, then it will be a shame if they lose.
And I think that then any gambler will say "damn it, it was not me who chose this number, but chance. It would have been better if I had bet on the number that I wanted myself."
And it will be especially offensive if such a gambler gets the number that he really wanted to bet himself. In this way, he will think that fortune laughed at him, because he betrayed himself by not betting the number he wanted.

Always preferred to choose my lucky numbers since I feel like we are bound to lose more money if we frequently choosing to bet on random numbers.

Also I don't feel any thrilling factor by doing that since for me always feel my luck nearly comes especially if I'm consistent betting on those special numbers I keep.  But usually I place my bet on national lottery and let see what's going to happen if there's really a huge luck will came with that option I choose.

This is somehow good topic since we can see it here on what people prefer related on this matter.

I usually go with lucky numbers. Number 4 is my favorite so I usually pick that and if it's not possible, a variant of it. Now the variant depends but I think I can live with doing a random generator and multiplying/adding it to 4 instead if need be, not that it has happened before though. I don't generally believe in superstition though so even though I do choose number 4 at times, it's not because I believe it's my lucky number. Just my favorite, so I just chose it lol. Can't be bothered to think of another when it's going to be random anyway.

well i have never been lucky with any number my birthday or my family members’ birthdays bear the same fate: losing so it really doesn’t matter to me and i just would choose random numbers i could even close my eyes and choose for true randomness at least i would not overthink it as well

In the lottery, the chances are very slim, so any number you choose will only win if you're lucky. But most of us prefer to bet on a number that's easy to remember. For me, I'll pick a specific number combination and bet on it regularly until the day I finally become the lucky winner. At least when that day comes, I'll instantly recognize I'm a winner because I've been sticking with that number for such a long time.

Hopefully, that scenario will come!

I have some favorite numbers. There are times that I will select one of them and I will be wrong. Also there are times that I will not select any among them and I wioild have been right if I selected the favorite number that came my mind. But I have noticed all is based on luck and nothing more. Just know that if you win, it is not about how you selected the number but just that you are lucky.

At the end of the day, the result is just the same; our luck will have to decide what the outcome will be, just as you have said above. I allow the system to choose numbers for me in most cases because I know that there are no techniques to use in selecting the right ones, but then again, there are times when you can just choose to make exceptions when you see some numbers that you consider to always bring luck to you. I will always have to handpick them with the hope of having a better chance.

It depends on how you feel about the amount for me. Sometimes i feel like going with a random number expecting I will be lucky. While other times i go with my lucky numbers, 7, 14, and 21 which are my favorite number.

Ultimately it's all about luck so fate might be on our side that we get lucky to win. It's not always about how good we are in picking numbers. There is nothing like certainty when pick a number so we should follow our instincts.

Talking about numbers, although the game is not specified in the post, it's easy to assume that it's a lottery game, and just like the actual state-sponsored lottery in our country where the jackpot is life-changing, I will always ensure that I stick to my lucky combination numbers because I feel more inspired and lucky when betting on them.

I also agree and do not believe in superstition, but regarding lucky numbers, it is about the luck factor. I prefer to choose numbers manually according to what I am thinking at that time and feel that it will be lucky if I choose it. Regarding random number generators, I have never used them at all to try my luck, but that does not mean I have never used them but not for the context mentioned. And I think it is easier to use or choose numbers manually than automatically with a generator, but it all depends on the needs, if I have to use a lot of numbers to try, then I will probably use it.

Let's take a dice for an example, it has chance of landing on from 1-6 for every roll. And now if you have 3 as your lucky spin and you will choose 3 all the time then you has more chances of hitting it correctly than predicting on very random basis (theoretically) so we can prove that lucky numbers (constant value) has more chance thereby we found the reason why lucky number wins.

I am always superstitious, even for my coding as well I do go with my lucky number or with the numbers, I was taught as auspicious. In my culture, odd numbers are being considered more sacred than even numbers. This is why I always prefer to use odd numbers than going with even numbers wherever I need to. I know I am doing stupid things by wasting time on this still I could not resist myself going with random ones. Wherever I need to deal with numbers, I always go manually with my preferred numbers.

It looks like the normal way of doing it even the password we use are not so random as well.

I have same habits but unveiling these may result in unwanted consequences, I really worry. Random numbers  exist for this reason but our superstitious perspective leads us go compromising security over being auspicious or lucky.

I tend to choose numbers manually but don't think about choosing lucky numbers. The chances will remain the same actually, how we use a random number generator or choose random numbers that are in our minds at that time.
Some people who have lucky numbers will continue to use those numbers and continue to be lucky. I don't think so. but there is a happy belief that the lucky number chosen is finally right.

The probability of either the random number or lucky number winning may be same, that's because with random number generator, are selected using a probability grouping machine and there's still no guarantee that the numbers may eventually be lucky to win. Same as you picking some special numbers you know. If you still don't get lucky, you may not stand a chance to win. For me I'll just select a number that comes to my mind, regardless of it being a lucky number. If I'm lucky at that point I make some wins...

Are you talking about random numbers or luck on lottery gambling or other types of games ....!
If you talk about lottery, of course I often use random numbers but as you said, The bad is not used, the problem when placing a random lottery betting often gives me good luck rather than a special number/luck, it's common and often I do.

What basically many gamblers do not know the numbers that can bring victory for them, but random numbers often bring in one victory for me, it also happens I do on sports betting For example football guess scores 2-1, 1-1, 4-2, 1-3, and so do basketball 98-101, 102-99, lottery too, 38, 83, 33, 88 and so on, so that's how it random numbers that can bring kindness to me in gambling.

And if we read those lottery winners, they said that they pick their lucky numbers, or numbers that have meaning in their lives, like birthdays and so most likely this might be better instead of just picking random numbers in a lottery.

Could be the same as well in games like Roulette wherein you pick numbers between 0 to 36 and I also noticed too that those big bettors stick to numbers like their age or their birthdays. It's possible though that you can win with random numbers, but it makes more fun to see your favorite number getting pick up as in lottery or ball falling on it in a roulette machine.

Obviously I will pick my favorite numbers, even I want to fill random numbers, I will fill it by myself instead of using random number generators.

For me, using random number generators is likely getting trash numbers aka numbers that will not win, hence I type it by myself.

However, using beautiful numbers is also not good, AFAIK lottery winners are mostly random numbers.

If there are six characters, if you pick 123456 888888 or something like that, I'm sure you will lose.
