Big companies and the political leaders adapting Bitcoin can only influence the price in a short while but they are not the reason why Bitcoin exist in the first place and how it has thrive to this extent. They are getting into Bitcoin to get a slice of the cake they have missed or neglected in the early beginning. The rejected stone has not become the Chief corner stone now everyone wants it, including those with powers has brought down their ego to embrace it. Bitcoin doesn’t need them, but they need Bitcoin to stay relevant and successful in the new financial world.

Woe to those who still think that because Trump and some big companies are embracing Bitcoin, that's what will make it succeed.

I agree in your words because big leaders and big companies owners can hide their earned money only using the bit coins and if you want to hide money for any reason, who they choose. When an unfair leader wants to hide his black money, they do these things with the majority of the bigger ones using seed coins. And by using this bitcoin for retention money laundering, they can easily transfer billions of dollars. That’s why domestic political leaders use this bitcoin. And a lot of good work can be done using Bitcoin. If you want to do good or bad work here, you can definitely do it here. I hope you will always use Bitcoin for good work.

Bitcoin is not about hiding money or things related to money laundering, etc. In fact, with a public blockchain, one can easily get the trail of money. Yes, people still want to hide their black money through crypto, but this isn't the only use case of Bitcoin and crypto. Anyhow, the good aspects of Bitcoin are too many, and the global adoption shows the importance of Bitcoin in recent times. We have come a long way from companies bitcoin adoption to the countries adopting bitcoin.  Smiley

I also want people to understand that the conversations about hiding money through a system doesn't apply to bitcoin alone, money laundering is a fraudulent act that's practiced by many people either in the public or private sector using financial institutions and gateways through banks and stalking of cash at homes. So the conversation around bitcoin is way beyond just talking about money laundering, as laundering of money is practiced by ill-fated individuals in possession of wealth that do not belong to them but decided to divert it for their own personal interest. Due to the level of encryption and anonymity seen within the crypto space, many have seen it as an avenue to save stollen funds.

I think we have no choice, we still need them. Because if they say we don't need them, what if a big country like the US adopts the same stance as China and makes Bitcoin trading illegal? That would really put us in a tough spot. I believe we have to accept that the key to widespread Bitcoin adoption is friendly regulation among major countries. So, we need the US and other big countries to be positive about Bitcoin, ensuring its adoption continues to grow.
If we aim for faster global adoption, then we need these major countries to help us with widespread adoption since they can create big influence even to the smallest country in the universe. Otherwise, if we leave bitcoin on its own, without having major countries supporting it, it can survive but the path would be tough and hard not just for bitcoin traders but for the whole bitcoin community.

Bitcoin has come a long way without any government or corporate support. It shows that it's not about having a reserve but about trust in the market. If people continue to trust bitcoin it will keep growing regardless of who gets involved.

Quote
Bitcoin has grown so much without a federal reserve from the US or China. In less than 15 years bitcoin got a market cap of over $1 trillion without having presidents pushing for it or a leading economy having a bitcoin reserve, so why does it now seem like without these people or these things bitcoin can't get bigger than it is currently? Bitcoin got to this level in a time when there were so many regulations and scepticism, a time when some people made it their side hustle to make sure they shit on bitcoin, despite all these, bitcoin soared.

This is partially true, but you are missing the main point. Most people started trusting Bitcoin AFTER some big corporations, banks and countries have invested in BTC. What was the BTC price before the 2021 "Tesla and Elon Musk" Bitcoin hype? What was the BTC price before the 2024 Blackrock Bitcoin ETF approval? If Bitcoin wasn't gaining recognition from all the big banks and corporations, the BTC price would have been 10 times lower and the "average Joe" would have never invested in Bitcoin. Most small investors are just conformists. They "follow the leader". They are following the trend.

Adoption won't propel forward without said man in suits.
But BTC will prevail in any case, with or without their support, it's just the question of mass adoption and acknowledgment.

I've been hearing a lot about Trump and other world leaders, big corporations, and countries and how they can impact Bitcoin and make it grow. While I agree that these people can impact Bitcoin, Bitcoin does not revolve around them.

Yes, they have a way to impact Bitcoin for sure and we’ve actually seen some of that lately. One of the very means in which they’ve impacted Bitcoin is on time. Time is alway that they can do on impacting Bitcoin, making people get to believe faster or be more receptive of Bitcoin. This is something that was still going to happen anyway but, when you find them in support, it makes it a lot more easier to come by.

Meanwhile, their goal to Bitcoin investment is one that isn’t true to Bitcoin except for the fact that, they wish to reap from its volatility in settlement of some debt. This isn’t really the best but, it would sure aid create the scarcity that would push price up.

Totally right.
BTC will be feeling okay with or without said countries, but the question is about others acknowledging the value and potential of BTC.
These countries can help a lot in that regard.

It sounds good. Who would have thought Bitcoin could survive until now with various world economic problems from time to time. As a coin, Bitcoin is a king in every other coin that is present afterwards.
The needs of the country in Bitcoin depend on who and how they interpret it because Bitcoin is only a system whose use can be used as an investment asset.

If they are able to articulate bitcoin properly and correctly, please just adopt bitcoin as a backup.

@op, did you notice what happened during Trump's campaign? Bitcoin gained more adoption the moment he also declared his interest in bitcoin and support to the crypto community. Bitcoin's price rapidly crossed 100k+ and we were all happy. Small news, announcements, statements and declarations from public figures and big organisations shake the bitcoin market. We should not lie to ourselves, this is just what happens.

Regardless of all this, bitcoin will still grow just like it has been growing without much support from the big guys in the past. But we do not have to take the big guys for granted. What I am certain about is, no one can eliminate bitcoin, but they can play around with bitcoin's price movements, mining operations and maybe bitcoin's swift adoption.

The percentage of Bitcoin users currently that I know only use Bitcoin as an investment asset and I just found out that Bitcoin cannot be used as an investment. Why, man?
Whoever and for whatever use the user wants is not a problem depending on how they decide on the purpose of Bitcoin.
At least they already know what Bitcoin is and the uses of Bitcoin.
There is absolutely no coercion because of the freedom that cannot be regulated by any party that I feel during my time as a person who likes Bitcoin.

Things that you mentioned can only boost what is already there - BTC doesn't stand on retailors to be as good as it is. Though they help to make the adoption happen.

The point I'm trying to make is that Bitcoin will keep growing and getting bigger without reserves so we shouldn't see these things or people as the authors and finishers of bitcoin. Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware of the significance of a bitcoin reserve in the US, but bitcoin doesn't need a reserve to succeed. It simply needs the market to keep trusting in it. Even with a reserve and people don't trust it, it will be worthless.
The reason for the talk of reserves and the reason for big corporations getting into bitcoin is to make a profit, which means they need bitcoin to make a profit, but bitcoin doesn't need them to grow and that's why I said they need bitcoin more than bitcoin needs them.

I mean it's obvious that Bitcoin has been existing without those nations thinking of it as their Bitcoin reserve. But it could be the Bitcoin is really evolving in the last 7 years, with institutions coming in the picture early and then company or personality like Saylor entering as well and then country like El Salvador. So I guess it's not that bad that we have been in a slow process and who knows what will be next in the picture.

So no harm done here, Bitcoin will be Bitcoin no matter what. But at least it has become one of the best assets because if there will be country like USA using it as a strategic reserve then it will bolsters it reputation and the global adoption that we all wanted might happen.

It will be the best with or without US, it will be just acknowledged by the broader world  Wink Here I can agree.

Smiley
Yes you’re rightly right because Bitcoin can be taken not only for money market but also for transactions and payments and for investment services. Transactions can be done at very low cost and fast border from one country to another in the international field. Many Bitcoins hold up to preserve the long term price and can be kept very safely, some platforms use Bitcoin for transactions or loans can be profitable through investments. By using Bitcoin you can trading grade points on different types of exchanges you can be fluent. And many send personal donations through bitcoin. Many such services can be done by using Bitcoin.

Bitcoin doesn't need anyone to continue rising in price. Of course, famous people can influence the BTC price, but only for a short period. What drives Bitcoin is people who continue to buy and trade it. The rest of the public hype in the media is simply a way to boost their own popularity, including in the cryptocurrency world. Trump and Musk, for example, didn't recognize Bitcoin's full potential at its start and only started showing respect for it in recent years. BTC grew to such high prices on its own and will continue to grow, without the need for any popular person  Cool Cool

Because of the reasons that you have listed above, it is the perfect answer to why many countries governments and many individuals have been seeing bitcoin as a perfect tool for illicit activity, which is not exactly what bitcoin is for, and you make it sound as if bitcoin is only meant to be used for illegal activities; those who choose to use it for such purposes are on them, but aside from hiding black money, as you called it, anyone with pure intentions uses bitcoin for privacy reasons.
