Slots games are enjoyable, at least for me, but sports provide entertainment on a different level. I find it hard to give up either, as they both represent what I consider to be real fun. When it comes to risking money, I believe sports offer a greater advantage than slots. With sports, you can analyze data to inform your bets, while slots are more unpredictable; you’re essentially left in the dark with nothing to study, relying solely on luck.

If you’re not careful, slots can deplete your bankroll much faster than sports betting can..

That’s why I’m still confused why do so many people prefer slots over sports betting when the odds in sports are generally better?

Two reasons:
- simple to play, you just select a bet and hit the spin button or even put it on automatic so you just watch the screen, no knowledge needed, no analyzing the bets, even a 4yo could do it
- instant results, unlike sports betting which you need to wait for 90 or 120 minutes and you have to place your bet in advance slots is like instant coffee

On top of that, you could add the mirage of a 1000x multiplier or the jackpot that for sure will hit on the next spin

Is it sport that provide entertainment or betting on sport matches? It is true that watching sports is really entertaining but is betting on sport entertaining? Most people that bet do not watch most of the matches they bet on.

I know two people that sport betting taught them lessons after they have been losing money to it and later lost higher amount of money there. I have seen someone that used his school fee to bet on a match on English Premier League and lost the money. I have seen people that are addicted to sport betting. People should be careful of both.

I prefer dice over anything so I can't relate to anything that you are claiming.

People who does that for money might prefer the games that has more advantageous than the others and there's no relation with casino games and sports betting cause the dynamics are entirely different. If we look at the sports betting there odds can give us the picture of the games whereas in casino games it's completely random, there's absolutely no way to predict what will be the outcome.

I agree to people wanting to go for what's trendy than what is actually applicable but then they have their power of choice and so they have chose to use it the way they have. The issue of considering house edge for some people isn't what they will want to consider, they just want a game they can easily win from and probably double their money and some other times the thrill that comes with slot games can be a reason they don't put to consideration all of the house edges over there's.

If you are aiming at profitability then all of these should be put into consideration otherwise you can gamble probably at random the way you wish.

The only reason the gamblers are after slot machines and this is not something new, always the most played games in every major casino have been the slot machines for the simple reason that they can give the player an instant win of the maximum payout which is great if it happens. It does happen but quite rarely, they say it takes like 2-3 years of every day playing slots to hit the max win yet I have played much more than that and never hit it once so for some people it is much longer than that. Based on this I quit my gambling indefinitely on early January and I am out of slot machines completely, I still do gamble some sport betting when there are major events like the Champions League as they don't make you as mad as losing slot machines does. So for me sport betting is better in this context.

When casinos have higher odds in live casinos games, while maybe lower odds in some slots but which can lead to bonus and higher multiplier (odd) at times.

But none should be seen as a way of making money.

What I noticed is that both can result to addiction. Although, I understood your point. Someone can lose in sport betting. Thinking of  ways to make money from it but continue to lose and become addicted. Just like I have posted before on this thread, I have seen people like that. They are very addicted and it is sport betting and not casino games.

Sports betting is not played every day of the 7 days - while slots, dice and other games can be played at any time. Regarding which is better in terms of winning probability - I agree sports betting is the answer. I definitely enjoy it at the weekend or a few times during the week if there is Champions League - meanwhile the slots can be played at any time.

I also agree that the trend now is sports betting - but the popularity of slots remains undisturbed. There are always fans of slots and this game will always attract the interest of new and old gamblers. We've all tried it - winning or losing is normal.

I definitely prefer sports betting.
I liked it more before and with the difficulties you mentioned I realize that I'm still on the right track...

In sports betting, anyone who has a little knowledge and the desire to research the games can make informed decisions and increase their chances of winning.
Another positive fact about this type of betting is that it requires strategy and skill, which makes it more challenging and emotional... quite unlike slots, which depend purely on luck and give us few strategy options beyond bankroll management and the amount of bet that will be made in each round.

And obviously, the best thing of all is the fact that many of us are already passionate about some sport (in my case soccer), so sports betting is a way to increase involvement and excitement when watching the games... it's a way to feel more connected to the sport and the teams while adding a personal (financial) interest in the outcome of the game.

They only don't go for trends; they go for slot games because they have many options that they can bet on, combined with the fact that they don't need to stress themselves predicting the outcome of a game, as some gamblers believe that no matter how hard you try to predict a game, the outcome is still highly based on how lucky you are; if not, you can't win that game if luck is not on your side.

It's hard to deny the popularity of slot machines, but when we analyze sports betting, we find a significant advantage. I don't think anyone is more better and I can say it depends on what you started with while gambling.. what I mean is that I started gambling with sports betting so, it's better for me and more easier than any other games this doesn't mean that slots or disc games and roulette are bad or not good for me but it's all about passion. I enjoyed sport betting than anyone of the above you mentioned since it was my start and even if I would have to check to put more interest on games I still makes sport betting my priority than any other since I know it more better than any other, this doesn't mean that I can't try out other games but I find it fun while on sport betting.

I've personally not given a crap about house edge before. Like I've seen discussions where some games have lower house edge and what not but in the grand scheme of things I reckon it doesn't matter much for me saving it up since, well, I'd spend more anyway.

Anyhow, slots is better than sports because you can do it without the, *drum roll*, sports. Can play it immediately, get immediate gratification for the result (or cry about it), and doesn't take much brain span to play. And the process itself is visually (and neurologically) appealing. Personally, I'm more of a sports guy, though if not limited to slots then I'm more of a crash guy. So Crash > Sports > Slots.

I disagree though, I do not think that gamblers go for what the current trending is. And we have known that slot games has been with us for a long time already. One advantage of slots over sports betting is that obviously, it's very easy games, no need to analyze except that you need to just have capital and then money to start playing it. As compare to sports betting, and most of us who do play that is a sports fans.

And the odds is also not the same, we will be happy if we can hit like 1.8x in a single bet. And for parlays, 4x and higher could be our goals. So personally, I don't have preference, I will play what games I feel like. If I want to be have fun then maybe slots games for me. Or if I'm started on a game like in NBA and then I go bet pre-game and then wait for the match itself.

This is quite a random and unfair comparison. They are so different and played differently. Sports betting requires more analysis and may be more profitable if you bet quite highly. On the other hand, Slots are easy and usually will cost just little.

What you prefer over the other depends on what kind of gambler you are. Do you want to play with more chances? Then go to sports betting. Do you want to be more relaxed? Then go for slots.

Yeah technically sports is better than slots, but slots sometime can be profitable too if you gamble during contest. So, if you're not lucky with your gambling results, you might be lucky in contest, although there's no guarantee you will win either one.

I'd say slots and sports surely have similar structures as a game due to the edge being simiskr but ultimately the appeal is to a different crowd..

People that play slots want instant gratification and everything moving fast and like seeing new things that's why even an individual slot may have various outcomes.

While sports fans like familiarity, history and the human element that slots lack.
So surely the appeal is different although results may be similar. I'd say slots move faster though so they tend to suck out more money from people most probably. So for what it's worth, to me neither is good for big amounts of money because of the house edge but otherwise it depends on what you like. People who don't like a team may never enjoy sports betting but people who enjoy animations are more wide of an audience.

Sports obviously are a lot more diverse. There’s different kinds of sports all with different mechanisms and rules. Different teams, different athletes. There’s more to bet in when it comes to sports unlike slots wherein it’s just pretty much get this x pattern or this y pattern.

That is understandable as I think it depends on your mood what can you like. If you want something easy and quick then slots. If you’re in the mood for long matches and exciting stuff then go bet on sports.

I disagree. Sports betting isn’t more popular than slots. However I will say sports betting is better. Even in Nigeria, casino games locally called “virtual” are more popular than sports betting. Most gamblers prefer playing them because it’s faster to win or lose, you don’t have to wait for 90mins or days for your games to end.
