I've heard the phrase "making a living in gambling," but I don't know if there are actually people here who have pulled it off. So, this thread is me asking, are there any users who can prove that it's possible to make a living from gambling?

I'm talking about gambling that's not purely based on luck. I'm sure you're aware of games where skill plays a role like poker and especially sports betting, which is pretty popular.

Is anyone here doing this long-term? If so, I'd love to hear your insights because I'm interested in following this path.

The basis on which this will happen is very rare, but we can’t deny the fact that they’re people who are really making it from gambling and make a living with it. But what comes to mind again is how consistent can they be to rely on this source of income for a very long time? Is it really sustainable to depend fully on?

The sports betting games still feel very much of a luck based game no matter how professional a gambler claims to be with them, you can’t accurately predict all games all the time. Gamblers sometimes have their own way of betting differently on same games they’re not sure of not to cut their tickets. If one should stop them out on this, the other will make them hit the jackpot. This is also not sustainable and only a few percentage of people do this and it’s more risky and more cost implicative than just betting on a game one time rather than splitting them into two bets input.

In my opinion I think the idea of making a living out of gambling is quite a lame thing to do and that because jobs are to be taken seriously most of the time since they are mostly a major source of income as a result putting gambling in such a category will only result in the gambler becoming too emotional when it comes to gambling since winning or losing will tell his income.
A gambler should have a proper source of income aside probable profit made from gambling.

If you're interested in following this path you have to understand that it is a path that comes with a lot of pressure because depending on gambling as a way to make a living will mean that you will always have to be on your toes and gamble very often to increase your chances of winning. It is certainly not a comfortable way to live life, and there are many options that you could be into, many other more sure ways to make money than gambling even if you are sure of your skills.

Don't be interested in this path... Gambling is more miserable in the short or long term.

The way of survival is safer by the way: Working - investing - business or something else that does not rely on luck, because it is clear that gambling is luck, can someone survive for sure? of course not.

Many of the users here are doing it since the time they got into crypto probably more than 3 years, that's already long but making a living out of it may not be the reality. I see them earn some and lose some as what I have experienced myself.

Living with gambling that's pretty risky If you use gambling as a source of income, there is no guarantee that you will earn or make a profit.
As we all know gambling is known that can destroy our lives if you ended up addicted. So, I do not believe someone can live a successful life while gambling.

Maybe you can survive if you are an influencer with a lot of referrals, but it is still not a good source of income, especially for those with families.
Better look for a proper job with 15 days or a month salary because you will surely earn a money than gambling that you don't know if it will gives you positive or negative income.

That is not making a living off gambling though, that is rather just gambling for the sake of getting rich quick. I think what OP meant when he opened this thread was whether some of us had heard or talked to people who were able to consistently make money off games like poker or sport betting, in which luck does not dictate outcomes of the sessions at one hundred percent of the times.

As for myself, I have never talked or interacted with anyone face to face who was able to make a living off gambling and that is because it is something which is extremely difficult and only a handful of gamblers can reach such a level of success. The prizes and the money one of those successful gamblers pockets is the result of the failure and bad luck of a dozen gamblers who did not know how to counter the luck and strategy of the winner

anyway, as for me, no, I have never tried to make a living out of gambling. the chance of me going broke and fucking myself up is exponentially higher than me making a living out of gambling.

Well I don't think if there's any one who make a living through gamble, rather their are some people who are lucky to win a huge amount of money in gamble. And they were wise enough to use the money to establish a business that can serve as a source of income to them. So haven't known this are we going to consider this people as those who are making a living through gamble or not, because is still that money they won from gamble that they use to start up the business. what can we say about this?

I havent made myself that thinking on being that having a living on gambling but for sure there are people who do make a living with it. Me myself dont really have that kind of pursuance about on trying to be that profitable as i do really that play gambling for the sake of fun and wont really be having those kind of tendency that you would really be that become desperate since you cant be able to achieve something when you do gamble. We do know that it will really be that just that too tough for someone to do so and its really that one of the reasons on why someone do become that too pushing up themselves on trying out to achieve something on this regard.

One of the things that i do really that trying out to avoid is to think off that you can make a living with gambling on which it is really that a very bad idea to have because once you do really that make yourself thinking on this way then you will be that become desperate. There are those gamblers who do make a living but the numbers are really just that small and this will particularly talks about into those games which are strategic based.

I don't know here if someone is really taking gambling as living, or the means to bring food in the table for your family. I mean, it's not bad, however, as you have said, it's based on pure luck so definitely very hard to rely on it. Maybe there will be a day that you will win big, but most of the times, it's a string of losses. And even games like sports bet or poker that you analyze the game itself, still, I will say that luck will still play in the long run.

Maybe it's possible, but there is still this big risk. And the only game that we hear the word "professional" is poker player. But still though, you really need to have skills, and obviously the psychology and the bluffing and to manage your bankroll to pull this one off and win.

Yes, people do make a living in gambling by doing one or more of the following from my search on the internet and observing other gamblers doing it.
- Gambling itself
- Write a book on gambling
- Start a gambling podcast or YouTube channel
- Become an influencer and charge big casino brands that want you to advertise their brands via streaming, social media.
- Gambling consultant.

Gambling activities and not just gambling in itself help people make a living in gambling.

I cannot imagine someone who's living with gambling and only gambles with pure luck based games. That's the best yet the most odd thing that I can ever read if someone does that for a living.

Not me but I've seen real good poker players and sports bettors. Aside from that those that are streamers and making a lot of money with sponsorship with the casino that sponsors them, I think that they can be said as full time gamblers and making a living out of it.

I don't know anyone who makes a living from the bets they place. When I see successful gamblers, they always have another sources of income, such as investments and sponsorship from companies interested in advertising their brands through the gambler. Successful gamblers are also businessmen and celebrities, so it's unlikely to assume they would make a living only from their predictions on sports events.

What happens is that people have a false perception about gambling nowadays due to misleading propagandas and personal testimonies they have access on the internet.

Gambling isn't a side hustle or full time job, and it has never been. If you want to profit from this industry, open your own casino or become an investor of one of the casinos available.

You might be making money from gambling, and you will be using it to sustain yourself, but the question is for how long is it going to keep on sustaining you? You might be making so much money from gambling, but you are suppose to be prepared, because time might come when you will no longer be making much from gambling. If you think you are a professional gambler, and you completely depend on gambling, all you should do is divert the money you making from gambling to other things, to increase your sources of income.

I've also heard about this, even if I'm not mistaken I've seen a movie with the main character being a great gambler and earning a lot of money.

But in the real world, maybe there are, as professional gamblers.

But for me, NO.

Gambling is just a side activity, because the results for me personally will not be guaranteed. Sometimes it produces quite a lot, but sometimes it also loses. and if that's the case, I will choose to stop first to organize my heart and soul.

And then, is to evaluate more what I should do and what I shouldn't do, in gambling. Everyone has their own choices and times, and this is what I do.

That is true.. the means that for someone to make a living from gambling they need to have a big follower to keep sharing their ref links, streamer and also marketer such as partnering with the casino to have some shares in the casino could make someone starts earning from the gambling site. I’ve heard a lot of gamblers winning it big from gambling, but talking about consistency that would certainly make a living, I don’t think it’s kinda capable of. Gambling is gambling, whatever the outcome is, the house will always have an edge, irrespective if its pure luck-based or not. As my observation it seems people living in gambling could be a two way only, first you are a streamer who are promoting gambling casino that you've got an account for doing this to promote or you are really using your funds base on your contract with the casino, next if you are well good player in playing such as table top games id say you have the chance to become a professional gambler because you have know acquired the skills needed to become efficient play, but still gambling is a gambling do expect losses this is the reason why technique and strategy right there not to eliminate but to lower the number of risk.

Is that even possible or advisable? To make gambling a source of income or make a living out of it no matter how good you have made yourself or think you are in gambling you can’t always be winning all the time and what happen when you’re not winning you don’t pay bills that period or what will you end up doing ? I have read about stories of people who have made a little money out of gambling use it to start up something which they can now consider as what give them a sustainable income, but depending on gambling alone I doubt that possible self.
