Is Gambling Affect Education/Studies?

What I will not accept about this is someone who is not above 18 years old is seen gambling. To make matters worse when they are dependent on their guardian for feeding,  almost in everything. That will appear nice because this will actually lead to stealing money from guardians just to meet up with gambling with high expectations.

But you can't do anything about them and even help them at all. Because I've been there.

I've become once a teenager that gambles with my parent's money. They didn't know but I was into gambling when I was still young and I'm also dependent to my parents.

This is not new in this society. Many youngsters are still relying to their parents and lives in their crib and gambles with their money too. But there is no way to stop them until they have realized that they have nothing left anymore or if their parents suspends their allowances.

Gambling is bad orientation always comes from the home. When the parents don't like gambling they would tell the children that nobody should used their money to gamble because what you will use to do something they will used it in gambling. And the children whose parents are poor and do not instruct them not to gamble, gamble more than the parents that always instructing their wards.
And since the students are in the University level they must have passed 18+ years which is the recommended years for people to gamble but the bone of contention here is students are more engaged in gambling than the school activities. Which is not supposed to be. And the gambler companies are not in the campuses but outside the campuses but the students are engaging through their mobile devices.

Anything can affect a child's educational performance, we should not see gambling nas the only thing that does so, too much playing can contribute to poor performance, lack of balance diet and malnutrition in a child can cause a lot of psychological and emotional imbalance causing poor performance in academic, while gambling should be seen as a way of introducing series of games to children to play without money being involved, in other to help exercise their brain for more increased active participations, thereby boosting their brain and academic performance.

Other things can affect a students academic performance but it's not accepted to lure students to Gambling because they get attached to things easily. There are cases of students that dropped out of school because they got addicted to gambling. The reason why gambling is been stressed here is because students are at the vital phase of their life and if they get distracted by an addiction like gambling they could have difficulty on continuing their academic activities, it could be a threat to them

in Normal sense gambling center is not supposed to be in university environments because it will bring a lot of contradiction to students, I will disagree with you that gambling orientation always come from home, I know someone the parents is not a gambler, but today they gamble always, does it mean that the parents is the one that transmit gambling to him or her? We all know that environments affects a growing up child, because whatever it seems for the environments it's what it will adopt, so that's why I condem that act of having gambling center is school premises, that will divide the attentions of students, and some students can be influenced to partake on gambling why it's what they planned for.

Can we blame the casino in this case that students waste their time gambling (chasing a mythical win) instead of studying? Of course not. Students themselves are to blame for wasting money (and time that could be used for studying) allocated for studying on gambling. Also, their parents (or other mentors) are to blame here, who didn't instruct (didn't educate) them properly to develop resistance to the temptation to get quick and easy money (gambling).

I totally agree with this. A casino only runs its business; it would surely try to promote its services and try to get as many customers as possible and that's what every business does, now it depends on the customers about how much money they want to spend in it, or even if they want to become a customer or not. If someone is wasting their time and money on it, it's their responsibility, and no one can blame the business for it because they will surely take any revenue that is offered to them.

Any business can try to promote their business in as many ways as possible to get more return on investment with as low funds as possible and it is not bad technique but if they failed to get good number of customer even after investing more than as usual then that is their fault they have not been able to invest their money on the perfect way.

Well I have many friends who dropped Out of college because they started working, had kids quickly, a ton of things that made them drop out of University, but honestly if I had committed some of those actions I wouldn't have Stopped Studying, at one point in my life I went to the casino almost every day.
 
Even so I wasted my good Student scholarships there and the only way to quit was because I already had to look for more Candidates because I couldn't go out with Women and the casino guards wouldn't let me in anymore , I Always went with a friend, so that was reason Enough to say that it was there and that I would get even Afterwards , currently I continue playing things in the casino but with millimeter control in everything.

Majority of us will be that having that kind of trying out to make these places to get blamed on why people do messed up their lives because of gambling, come to think that we are the ones who do made out such decision on doing gambling/betting on which cant be able to deny that it is that quite entertaining but at the same time it does give out that kind of thrill and fear deep inside because we dont want nor like on losing up money. Now into the talks about gambling affects education or studies then it could actually be just that the same if we do speak about other addictions as well or simply that dealing up with something on execssive manner does signifies that you are gradually becoming addicted into it and since we do know that once you do lose up that control then you are prone into tons of mistakes on which it causes up for you to have that kind of tons of bad decision making just because you cant be able to think up well.

On some point of view then speaking about gambling then it should be just that for fun and entertainment because if you are already that trying out to deal up with it on excess manner just for some very common reasons then it do shows or signifies that you are that addicted into it. Sooner or later on the moment that you do have those huge loses then you would be thinking up with on how you would be trying out to have that good emotional stability when you are into something? If a student falls for gambling and spends valuable time in his career gambling, then gambling will definitely have a huge negative impact on his studies.

In the OP's case, a Ugandan university student suffered a career loss due to a falsely promised bonus, which is shared here. In my country, most school and college students spend money and time gambling. They are now so addicted that some even spend more than 12 hours out of 24 hours gambling, leaving their formal studies behind. When I went to an institution and talked to the students there, they were spending most of their time gambling and their results were so bad that their guardians were worried about their future. So if a student gets involved in gambling before completing his studies at his institution, I can definitely guarantee that his career will be ruined.

This is why parents should be a little more stern. Some parents might be too loose when it comes to punishing their children that they don’t really learn. Overall gambling has never been had good impact on anyone but in case of students its always worst case because this give serious mentality issues which are never been good with stress and negativity after losing also create problems.
Despite having strict laws and things around for preventing teenagers from this many countries are facing problems because things are getting worst after every day now online stuff is also having more troubles which are increasing students to go through on activities which are not helpful for them and also having impact on studies.

Your level of focus will deteriorate to a great ordeal and that's because you will not be given full attention although it depends on the particular course too and also how deep you are in already into being addicted. Because there are some addicts that can still make out spare time and if ofcourse the discipline of study isn't that of a active seriousness although if the person is in medical line then there is definitely no way to cope with being addicted.

I am not in favor of students gambling at all. It wastes a lot of time and students cannot study properly, I will not say these. I think gambling should always be played with one's own money. Students have no source of income. They collect money from their parents and invest it in gambling. Which we should not do at all.
I would say that gambling should be played with our own earned money. In this way, we will feel pain if we lose money and will be more conscious about spending money. If we gamble with borrowed money or with our parents' money, we will never understand the pain of earning  money.

Students are more likely to be addicted to gambling. When they cannot do anything else, they may consider gambling as a way to earn money. This kind of effort makes them the most vulnerable. On the one hand, those students are hindered in their education and similarly, they are also financially devastated. There are some who are very conscious and try within their capability and if they lose, they can stop them. For those who can control it, gambling may not cause any harm. But in most cases, students cannot control their greed. When they lose, they get more excited and their efforts to recover the loss are even more affected.

Anyone can be addicted to gambling, an addiction has no category of persons that it's common with...one thing people fail to admit is that we choose what we get addicted to, it's not something that just takes over on its own...to a certain extent you got yourself involved in it because of the pleasure you derive and after a while the brain gets used to it.. students are not the only ones more likely to become addicted but in this context it simply expresses that it's more dangerous to students

A serious student shouldn't even be found gambling for the first place because once they encounter losses they will be emotionally unstable and having the energy to study will become difficult for them. A good student will be focused on achieving his academic success, they will rather not go closer to a gambling shop knowing how their money and time will be wasted, gambling can even affect the academic performance of a student because of they leave to study to gamble they will thinking about how to win in gambling more than how to get good grades.
