Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

seriously who the hell would bother solo mining this at this point?

My i7 is 1/2000 of the nethash, and with 120 minute block times that's 2 months for a block on average...

Without a pool you're just wasting watts.

Besides, this is all sphlib based so it won't be long before sph-sgminer GPU miner shows up. It's a few hours work at most

Correct me if I'm wrong but this coin uses sphlib, the SHA3 candidate algos https://github.com/twe-project/twecoin/tree/master/src for which there's a GPU miner here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0 someone would just need to move few lines here and there to get working.

Not quite that easy but you're right, it's not hard, which is why I reckon there'll be a miner within days, if not hours. If I were home that's what I'd be working on.

In what way are they cpu only? What, cause there's no miner yet? Big deal, it's trivial to add these to sph-sgminer since it already uses sphlib

This coin will be GPU mineable soon!

Actually, I'd probably bet that there'll be a GPU miner before a standalone CPU miner.
