We can sometimes make mistakes in gambling, either because we are in a hurry or because we are using a device that we don't usually use for gambling, for example, we usually use a laptop but at that time we can only use a smartphone, so that the smaller screen display makes us not read it carefully.

Once I have made a similar mistake OP has made. I was looking for a football game to bet and to watch. I was scrolling through live events and spotter Real Madrid vs Barcelona game. The game was already on, one of the teams managed to score already so I though it would be a interesting game to watch, real challenge between top teams. So without hesitation I have placed my bet and start looking where to watch this game. After few minutes I have realized that I have placed my bet on E-Soccer game...

This is an incredible story and I am surprised that such an event happened to someone. After all, I had something similar a few years ago, when I was just starting to place bets, I bet on a hockey match and on the wrong team, but I noticed it only when the system gave the result after the match and the fact is that I thus won money, betting on the wrong team. I was very surprised and I also called it wild laughter, because this mistake brought me money. But I expected to see zero on the deposit.
But all the other times I was attentive and did not allow this.

The two lessons to learn from the OP mistake is that we should double-check before placing our bets and we should also bet with small amounts. The only mistake that is favorable is when your win and you're able to withdraw it but if you can't it wouldn't be favorable to you. Also if you make a mistake with a huge amount of money and lose, it'll be painful, it'll be more painful if the bet that you had in mind won. There's need for clear mind when you want to place your bets, analysis and carefully fix the games as you have planned. People who gamble with a lot of money and make a mistake while placing bets can unintentionally cause harm to themselves out of regrets so clear mind is important while gambling.

It's good to remind people to confirm the bet before actually making the slip, in the past I often made the same mistake as you, it was back in 2013 - 2015 when I was in high school. Instead of making a slip for the match that should have been, I made the bet for a FIFA e-sports match, several times I felt lucky because in the match that I should have bet on I should have lost, but my slip won because I was in the wrong competition .

Maybe you initially thought you were happy because you won the bet, but it turned out to be wrong.

Good thing you only bet a small amount, at least what you lose is nothing compared to others. However, it's still best to bet with presence of mind regardless of the amount. You are gambling, so the best way to get you entertained is to see your bet winning, but if you consistently make the same mistake, I suggest just take a break from gambling so you can avoid small but consistent losses.

Imagine if the amount is large? That person will be frustrated to see the wrong bet.

It is impossible for people to continuously make mistakes in making bets, this is usually because they are in a hurry and bet small amounts so they don't check again whether this is correct or not.

But if for example the bet is in a large amount, I'm sure the person who placed the bet will be more thorough or checked for money back.

I guess many of us sports bettors have made similar mistakes. I cannot remember the specific games, but I've also placed erroneous bets in the past. There was one time I bet on the opposing team. To make up for it, I placed a bigger bet on the team I supposed to bet on.

The good thing with your mistake and mine is that they're smaller bets. When it involves bigger bets, bet slips should be double-checked carefully before confirming. They're like Bitcoin transactions, only you can cancel them by cashing out but with a cost.

They were playing against team with similar names but not on Same date
Disadvantage of placing bets almost a week before the match.
The women won though and the male counterparts lost
I was lucky that the female sometimes perform better than the male

Are you referring to another person as I can on some people's post that they have made a mistake before by selecting wrongly but which they won? If it is me that you are referring to because I am the OP of this thread, the bet did not favour me. I lost the bet but I use small amount.of money for it.

And generally I do not see it as favourable or unfavorable bet because losing $11 is really and highly nothing to me. It was/is like I lost nothing.

The exact feeling that a smart gambler should feel, and this was possible only because you have always risk only what you can afford to lose, I nearly used $3 to hit $600 some months ago and I made a similar mistake.

Mine happened because I woke in the night, grabbed my smartphone to place the bet, and my eyes are still in the dream world deceiving me, I placed the bet on the wrong team, since that day I have stopped doing anything right after waking up from bed.

So yes I believe you, it is very possible to make such mistake, in different ways, what you did well is not risking a lot of money, some people might say you should be careful next time, or learn from this mistake by checking very well, but my advice is you should keep risking what you can afford to lose.

This lost money is not different from you risking $11 and the game go against you, it still means nothing, because it is just $11.

That lesson is the main gist passed, mistakes happen daily, but our ability to learn from them and reduce them to the barest minimum is most important. I've always tried my best to double-check, if not triple-check everything I do that has to do with money, the reason is that I've made some mistakes in the past that would have cost me a huge amount, for I'd even transferred money into wrong online accounts before, but was reversed for me. All these make me verify online inputs more than once regardless of the amount, no amount is worth losing.

For sure you wont really be that chilling out if you have been able to make mistake on something which is a big amount on which you might be that punch up that keyboard of yours at the time that you had realized that you had made out some wrong picks or bets. You've been expecting that you are on a win since you have put up that surely, but on the time that you do check out that bet of yours then you would be just that neither smile or just that punch up directly your monitor.   Frustration will be felt if you have put up that significant amount or big bet specially if you are that sure with your bet. You will be just that laughing if you do find yourself putting up some small amounts but it will be entirely different when you have done the opposite thing. Its recommended that you should be that trying out to be careful so that you wont be ending up with these mistakes but actually this could really happen if you wont be that careful or rushing up.

Double checking our bets is very important because some clubs have close to the same names. It could happen to anyone, it's just a mistake.

OP lost the bet but he said that he is not worried because it is an insignificant part of his income.  It's also a lesson to all of us to always bet what we can afford to lose because such a mistake could occur. If it was a big loss, I guess that OP will keep blaming himself for a long time.

Sometimes mini football or cricket matches are held where a 90-minute game ends in just five minutes. I have bet several times in all these leagues and lost some and won some. However, I do not bet large amounts in these leagues. In all these mini cricket or football games, it doesn't matter whether you choose a favorite club or a team because any club can win in this game. It's just a gaming

You're lucky not to use some huge amounts for this mistake, you wouldn't be feeling this excitement at all. At least this is why we're urged to gamble responsibly with such amounts we can afford to lose so that when such kind of mistakes come our way we won't be losing something touching in amount.

Like am just smiling over here how you couldn't observe the SRL after the Chelsea FC, because there's no such abbreviation attached to the London club's name.

I had some luck with simulated reality leagues although they are not profit guaranteed because they are controlled by the bookies...you most likely to make such mistakes if you don't carefully check before selecting.. There are some people that believe that srl can give you a little idea o the real game, do you think it's accurate? Or just an assumption? I don't think the bookies can program an srl game that would give you an idea or prediction of any game, even the bookmakers cannot determine the outcome of any game...have you guys heard such before?

If I remember correctly, I think I have encountered such experience before and mine was worse because I already knew that the club I wanted to place my bet on would be the team to win the match so I raised my staking amount higher than I expected, later that day I learned the club I bet on won the game and I rushed to check my balance to see my reward but nothing was there, so I went back to the bet record and I saw that I lost the bet, "how come? " It was then I realized I picked the wrong club, I  have never felt so disappointed like I felt that day but what can I do, the did was already done but I learned my lesson.

I was close to making the same mistake the other day as the browsing experience on the bookie I was currently using was a bit of a hassle so I turned to the search bar to look up the match I wanted to include on my betslip.

The first result was an esports match with similar team names, and thankfully the icons were different so I eventually caught on and realized it's another game.

Sorry for the mistake and one of the things we really need to have in minds is that whenever we are gambling we need t be conscious and concentrate with our games because if we bet on a game that we are not suppose to play and the supposed we have in mind end up winning, it will really be a painful experience.
I'm sure the reason why this mistake happened was because you were having so much in your mind and you were not concentrating with the gad that was why it ended up like that.
