@zasad@. What is your speculation and impression on this statement by former governor Cuomo? I reckon that this very much appears that the supporters of the Clarity act are becoming much more desperate because they might be feeling that this will not pass. However, the stock of Circle is beginning to pump. Are these the insiders beginning to buy before the good news on September? Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo urged Congress to pass the Clarity Act, saying the U.S. is already falling behind other countries in setting rules for crypto.
“It can pass because it has to pass because we’re already way behind,” Cuomo said Tuesday at the SALT conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The Clarity Act would set federal rules for the crypto market and spell out which regulators oversee different types of digital assets. Those rules could help crypto exchanges, token issuers and traditional financial firms determine which laws apply to their products.Read in full https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2026/08/18/it-has-to-pass-andrew-cuomo-warns-u-s-is-falling-behind-on-crypto-rules

I'm not really interested in what any politician says. The CLARITY Act has its supporters and its opponents. We'll see how the next procedural vote in the Senate on September 15th turns out. I don't think it will be the last event before the vote, but Trump has a better chance of passing the bill this year.

@zasad@. I am wishfully hoping that the Donald's speech is real and that his men are working very hard to have the Clarity act's passage! We will certainly need this before 2028 to prevent a Gensler 2.0 occurrence in case if the winner of the next presidential election in America is an anticrypto Democrat heheeheh!

The US was experiencing a Wild West in cryptocurrency, and Gensler did the right thing by shaved off the biggest players. Smaller players weren't particularly targeted. Many large companies have already invested in cryptocurrency in the US, and there's extensive legal and legislative experience. Fortunately, even if a crypto hater were to become president, they wouldn't be able to change anything.

@zasad@. I disagree that the anticrypto Democrats will not have the power to change anything. They might not change some of the positive developments that were supported by the Donald and his administration, however, without the Clarity act to protect these positive developments, there can certainly be another type of regulation through enforcement occurrences or another operation chokepoint occurence on the cryptospace.

Large companies and banks are investing huge amounts of money in cryptocurrency technologies because they allow them to quickly launch projects globally, despite sanctions. I always say that whoever has the money decides, politicians represent the interests of big business, not the other way around. Gensler cleaned up the American crypto market and removed Binance from the American market. Coinbase took Binance's place, and Coinbase is a strategic partner of BlackRock. I want to see an anti-crypto Democrat who will fight BlackRock

@zasad@. Your argument still does not address the world where the anticrypto politicians can use their power anytime and regulate the cryptospace through enforcement because there is no clear framework which the Clarity act can bring.
This is really very funny that you are disagreeing and arguing about this heheheheh. The Clarity act will make everything clear and bring real regulations in the cryptospace. If this will not pass, everything can return to uncle Gary's world where they will have the power to decide what is good and what is bad.

Uncle Gary fined crypto projects back when the US didn't have clear laws or legal practices, and I've heard the old saying many times that the SEC never loses cases because they have the best lawyers. Now crypto projects have learned to protect their interests and are successfully winning cases in court. I don't see any reason for a new Uncle Gary to emerge.

@zasad@. However, there is nothing that will give assurance that Gensler 2.0 will not happen again except the passage and the signing of the Clarity act. In any case, the next vote on this will be on September 15. On Polymarket, the rating for this to get passage is only 16%. This is very low. We can assume that Gensler 2.0 will repeat itself, but businesses will still find loopholes in the legislation and move to other jurisdictions. The main goal of the bill is to allow American investors to legally invest in the US and enjoy full legal protection. If a potential Gensler 2.0 prohibits this, crypto investors and developers will flee the country, and the US government doesn't want that because their Treasuries are no longer in high demand on the market.

@zasad@. You can argue that business in the cryptospace can find loopholes and other tactics, however, with the Clarity act becoming law, there will be no need for these loopholes and tactics. There will also be no fear for Gensler 2.0. In any case, this is good news update. The bankers might have stopped paying these sheriffs on their opposition against the Clarity act. I speculate that the nuns will be next to declare that they have reversed their opposition heheheheheh. The National Sheriffs' Association reversed its opposition to the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act on Thursday, writing to Senate leadership that it was changing its position to neutral, given how complex the legislation was and the number of important details that remain under consideration.Read in full https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2026/09/04/u-s-sheriff-s-association-shifts-opposition-stance-to-clarity-act-to-neutral

I also find this news amusing: first the nuns association, then the sheriffs. We still need the opinions of the train enthusiasts association and the gay association to complete the set The US government needs this law because it represents a huge potential for investment that is essential for continued market competition.

I couldn't agree more with this, it is just crazy that there are too many oppositions to this law, especially from the Democrats. I believe it counts for something that the National Sheriffs' Association have changed their position, but it would have counted for more if they changed it to 'support', but anyway, a neutral position is much better than opposition. In any case, the rating for the Clarity act is still very much low on 17%,
I can understand why it is this low, there is no new information to suggest that an approval is imminent. I support an approval, but i'd be surprised if that's what we get.

Opinion of the US Senator https://x.com/SenLummis/status/2096644344795246746"If the Clarity Act doesn’t pass this Congress, the next real opportunity to bring market structure legislation back up is 2030. That’s years of jobs, investment, and tax revenue we can avoid squandering if we finish this now." But you understand that this is just another news item and nothing more.

However, the real argument is if the Clarity act does not get passage and does not go to the office of the Donald for signing into low, we can be very much certain that the development of this procrypto administration on policy and regulations will be reversed during the next administration if the president is an anticrypto Democrat! The passage of the Clarity act will prevent this!

Let me give you an example using Russia. The law "On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights" came into effect on September 1 of this year, but the transition period extends until the beginning of the third quarter of 2027. Most crypto services in Russia operated through other countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc.). If the US fails to enact legislation, businesses will simply operate through other countries and jurisdictions. The US already faces plenty of problems, do you really think the new president would fight against cryptocurrencies and risk losing his political standing?

@zasad@. On what the next president will do, we can only speculate. However, for the safety and to have lesser problems for the cryptospace in America, I know we can very much agree that the Clarity act will be better if approved and signed by the Donald in to law. In any case, news update. They are creating a new version of the bill again eheheheeh. Polymarket's rating is still very much low on 18%. A new version of the Digital Asset Market Clarity offers tweaks to how the key crypto legislation would address activities by decentralized finance firms and some traditional finance firms engaging in crypto activities, but it isn't expected to represent a final compromise that will win sufficient support from Democrats.
The new text, circulated by Republican lawmakers on Thursday, features certain new requirements for decentralized finance entities. The bulk of the text, which aims to reshape how federal regulators oversee cryptocurrency activities in the U.S., seems to largely resemble previous versions of the bill.Read in full https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2026/09/10/new-clarity-act-text-tweaks-defi-credit-union-provisions-but-road-ahead-for-bill-remains-murky

I see this as resembling a grand magic trick, where our attention is steered exactly where the lead illusionist wants it to go. The whole problem started with banks, but now it turns out the issue lies in DeFi. ""We have incorporated more than 114 separate provisions at my Democrat colleagues' request, and as a result, this bill is a strong bipartisan product," Lummis said in a statement. " Republicans want the September 15 vote to go well.

@zasad@. Similar to your argument, this article is also arguing that if the Clarity act will not be approved and signed into law, they speculate that it will be okay. This is headshaking, I reckon. How can they predict that there will be no Gensler 2.0 hehehehre. I predict that he will become the secretary of treasury if the next president is an anticrypto Democrat. Wall Street may finally get a clearer crypto rulebook it has spent years waiting for when Washington passes a market structure bill on Tuesday. But even if it doesn’t, financial institutions are unlikely to stop building in the digital assets business.
The Senate’s expected vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY) could give banks, brokers and asset managers more certainty about how they can trade and build products around digital assets. While passage could accelerate that work and bring more traditional firms into the market, failure may be less of a roadblock than it once would have been.Read in full https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2026/09/14/even-if-clarity-fails-wall-street-s-crypto-push-is-unlikely-to-stop
