Totally depends on a certain individual on which there are those people who could be able to live or not to be bored even if gambling doesnt exist. Those that gamble when they're broke think that they will be rewarded with huge profits at the end of the day. They do not think actively; that's why, if not, they won’t even sit down on their own and make wrong decisions by themselves. When you talk about priorities and gambling, you have to consider something though, those who gambling while being broke sadly have a distorted perception of their own personal priorities. So done with a healthy mind and still broke would try to bet a job and push forwards to a better future through saving as much money as possible and then invest if their savings allow it, on the other hand, broke people with a distorted perception  of reality will see other things in gambling: an extra meal, the opportunity to lay their rent (which is soon due), among other things.
