So we have a country for almost each region: north america, asia and australia. Did any of the countries in the list surprise you? Is there a particular country you want to visit purposefully just to gamble? Whole list can be seen here.

Maybe the analysis was done based on how much they've lost in gross and not on the number of active gamblers that exists in that region. If we are considering countries that have a lot of her youths involved in gambling, some African countries like Nigeria could top the list because a lot of youths engage in this practice almost on a daily basis. The reason might just be because most of her systems aren't working well and a lot of opportunities are not there for getting jobs and so, most of them rely in gambling as the means to their end. The United states and most of the big nations that are listed are makes this list because the few that gamble make use of outrageous amount that increases how much they loose on an average in gambling.

Casinos are quite popular in the United states but for real, I doubt they are as much as we do have sports betting shop here in Nigeria. An average 16 year old teenager have either directly or indirectly gotten involved in sports betting but like it appears to be the case, if the subject Is with regards how much they lose in the process, then we can't really ascribe them to be worth being included as a top gambling nation.

I'm not surprised with United States as they have a lot of casinos there and also with China, considering they are second of the most populated country in the world but Japan, I actually didn't expect that Japanese are into gambling, that's actually a nice trivia to know. Just FYI, Indonesia is currently a hot market for this sector, even though gambling is illegal here, people still go to online casinos to play. I am not surprised of the above mentioned countries. What I know that could thrive the extension rate of gambling in a region is either due to economy structural stability with the governments focused on the welfare of her citizens and residence.
So the above mentioned are all of global economy influential countries whose economy news could have effects on other countries in the globe.

Sometimes what strives the increase of gamblers in such states is too much comfortability where residence does not stress too much to earn money for living.

So they probably lack financial management which also prompt investors to invest more in expatiating the betting ecosystem and while they may tend to provide the masses the interesting services is the more it residence are gambling while the bet company owners are making more money in the sight of providing the players their exciting gaming services while they may play for fun and likely get carried away.

Yeah, I remember when this news was all over the internet that the Australian government banned gambling for young players, I can't remember vividly when this happened, possibly some two or three years ago or so, I am not so very sure. But even with this, I am still not surprised they are on the list, I know that with the ban, most of us would expect the country not to make it into a list like this, but one important thing again to consider is the credibility of the statistics the op shared, how credible is the source the information came from, this is something we should also consider before any final conclusions.

And again, concerning visiting a country, yeah you are right and I absolutely agree wit you, if I have a any country for vacation or for business, as long as time permits me, I don't mind trying out their casinos out of curiosity like you said, but then, like I've said before, gambling won't and can never be my main reason of traveling outside my country.

I am not surprise to see USA and China that gamble the most. But seeing Italy in the top 5 and Canada in the number 7 on the list, well that is surprise me. I never though those countries will be in that list.

It seems there is a change on people behavior treating gambling. We can hope that will not because they sees many people win much money from gambling so they are attract to follow those people.

Nigeria is supposed to be among the top gambling country globally because I saw an article early this year that states that the the Nigeria online gambling market is estimate at €675.1m in grass gambling revenue this year. Secondly, I learned that Nigeria ranked the third country in Africa gambling market, while South Africa and Kenya rank 1 and 2, and from the OP's data, those country are not even added. Some of those data online are not completely accurate, that's what I observe.

Actually, it is pretty much a widespread stereotype that Asian people are prone to gamble and become addicted to gambling and taking risk with their money. Here in my city there are underground gambling floors full of slots machines in which our local asian community gathers at in order to gamble away hundreds of dollars. So to me it is not a surprise China is within the top countries with gambling population on this planet. The impressive thing is how Japan's can manage to get to such a top while as the same time having gambling restrictions and bans on casinos and betting establishments. Well, nothing is so surprising about the USA leading gambling in every category. My situation is pretty much the same as yours. Because we all know that Las Vegas is famous for casinos and gambling, and Las Vegas is located in the United States of America. So I am not surprised that America is in the first place.
And then if we talk about China, then China is the most populous country in the world and it is natural that this country will be at the top of the rankings. So I am also not surprise about the chain who were the second position. And about the Japan I have work with multiple casino who were targeting  Japanese region because of this season that Japanese also do heavy gambling.
I learned about Australia last year that they are also at the top of the gambling world in terms of losses, but I didn't know about Italy at all, but I was surprised to learn about both Australia and Italy. And if I talk about my wishes, I'm not that much of a gambler, but I do want to see the city of Las Vegas, even if it's not for gambling.

No country in the world that doesn't gamble. Even the most religious and hard working country, their citizens find their way to gamble no matter how busy they are, they still want to catch some fun and make some cool cash.

I am not surprised about the countries OP mentioned because no country is holy than the other when it comes to gambling. Countries citizens have been guilty of gambling for so long and they find gambling as a means of becoming more wealthy and entertaining themselves. My own country(Nigeria) gambles a whole lot. What i find kind of funny is that many of those countries are restricted in most big web casinos around there, to the point where even transferring cryptos/money from U.S. based exchange wallet can be restricted.

Btw i am aware of fibonacci as mathematical sequence, but you were referring to it as a gambling activity, which i am not aware of. I can't even find that by quick googling, so can you elaborate on that?

How is that measured? According to the total population or according to what % of the population of each country that gambles? In my country, everyone gambles. Almost there is no man that doesn't gambles, so I'm sure that the USA's 26% means nothing, especially since they mention sports betting, because here every man, woman and child places a bet on a soccer match when there is an important match.

I'm surprised about Japan, I didn't know if they were gambling. I know about Italy and China, on Evolution live tables, lots of Italians and Chinese were gambling. Italians were mostly gambling on live blackjack and roulette tables but Chinese were gambling on Bacaraat, there were hundreds of Chinese on bacarrat tables, it was always full of them.

Does it makes US as country that gamble the most? Absolutely not. How statistics is being formed anyway? By casino reports and their business registration place? Gambling has been very popular in Republic of Singapore, but that country is not even in the list, while every fourth citizen there gamble.
