Videogames is something we enjoyed during childhood and we do have side bets when playing. It was really fun and entertaining and that is what I call gambling for fun because the money we stake in the game is just small amount which we happily lose without any feeling of remorse. Unlike now that one is so conscious of money that losing a cent will make a gambler feel some how bad. Video games is still happening now but it is no longer popular because there are play-to-earn games now which you don't have to bet with your friend but to play against the computer and earn some money.
The company that introduced people to earning money from video games is wise. They understand that people enjoy video games for fun. Now, monetizing that fun will make lots of players stick to the game even more. The only problem I have with it is that children nowadays no longer play for fun like we did when we were little. They also want to earn money, so they stay glued to their devices instead of paying attention to their academics. Parents think it’s healthy, but the truth is that the eagerness to make money at a young age can lead children to become too greedy and addicted as well.

I didn't know you were a Street Fighter player @criptoevangelista hahaha
Could you give more details of which platforms you use to place these bets and how it works? For example, if there is a site that you enter to match other players, what are the rules and how do you put this money in the bet so that the winner receives it correctly?

I really like it, Street Fighter is just too good. I’m playing it on PC right now. Well, there are a lot of WhatsApp groups for the game where people challenge each other, and then it’s arranged: the loser pays. Usually, people know each other from the FGC (Fighting Game Community), so you end up playing often and making a lot of friends. People usually pay up when they lose money matches,I’ve never seen anyone flake, because everyone knows each other. The community is actually pretty big. Anyway, that’s it... do you play anything over , @rdluffy? Oh, there’s no platform for it, everything is arranged in the groups, and the payment is made via Pix after the match ends.

Basically, it works like this: one player challenges another for a money match, and the loser pays the agreed amount. We usually have groups of players who enjoy doing this, and within these groups there are streamers as well. We coordinate among ourselves the date and time, and then we promote the match in other groups and on X (formerly Twitter). People usually show up to watch and even cheer for their favorite player. Here in Brazil, there are some “Dojos,” which are groups of players who meet online to train or play, it's really cool. But the bets are only between the players who are going to fight, which is good to avoid match-fixing.
It will be an interesting experience. I like gambling that the outcome is determined by the skills of the players. I remember while growing up, we used to bet on video games and there were players that were very good that we used to also bet on them. I don't know if this kind of video betting group exists in my location. It might, maybe among younger video game players. Maybe I will do a search to check if such exists in my country because I want to be a part of it. It is good that the bet challenge is between the two players to eliminate match fixing, although I'm not into eSports betting I've heard about manipulations that happens in it. It is clearly a challenge and each perticipant will want give their very best to win and take everything. For bets I prefer physical games where humans play so that I can analyze from their recent updates, I've never bet on animal sports before. If it gets more popular I believe that many bettors will have interest in it, atleast to bet on a player to win.

I'd like to know if I'm the only one who has the habit of playing video game matches for money. I usually play Street Fighter 6, and almost every week there are money matches in a best-of-10 format, with stakes ranging from $2 to $10. The matches are usually streamed live on Twitch and YouTube, where viewers can donate to add to the total prize pool for the winner... It's pretty interesting, and when money is on the line, the matches feel completely different.
Thats kinda classic betting or kind of gambling. If Im right, Street fighter is a famous game before few years didnt know its still active until now. Is the game an advance 3D now or the graphics you are playing with are the same when it was famous years back then?

I have a dream of becoming a streamer, till this day I could not pursue this dream, it's nice to see someone living my dream already, I want to be a streamer who based on gaming stream but to make it more fun and engaging one needs to face challengings in game like multilayer fighting games and first person shooter games like counter strike and call of duty. This is my dream. I've place some bets on fifa in the past, fifa 12 and 13 but among friends, we will use $0.5 to $1 at the time as the grand prize and it makes the game much more fun as we took turn so I understand how you must be feeling. Just know that it's not only you that want this type of entertainment, there are many people that do this almost all the days of their lives.

Is this e-sports betting or casual betting on arcade with friends that you are playing with. I don’t bet on other e-sports games aside from CS and Dota which are the most popular to avoid match fixing that is popular on e-sports.
Similar to esport but if it is Street Fighter 6, that should not be esport. Anything related to esport and co, I do not bet on it and I fear manipulations. Unlike traditional matches and sports that are happening real life and not games. If I do not have game to bet on, I will prefer to visit casino instead. Definitely, games like e-sport are prone to manipulations and can be easily adjusted by the casino to limit the number of winners, however approaches to these kind of games should gamble with the mindset that they aren't going to be in profit for long, it's possible to be at loss through out their entire session. So it's best to gamble with what you can afford to lose rather than keeping your hope too high that will make take on an irresponsible decision and go bankrupt. Though I've not tried other simulation games aside football but I think fight games might be a bit Interesting.

It is quite old when I heard about this kind of gambling, 8 or 9 years ago, a Mobile application was released whose name was Teen Patti Gold, there were many poker games in this application, which the players could play according to their choice.
In this application, there was a option where players can invite their friends, to play the poker game of choice on a private table, so gamblers saw this as a opportunity to gamble there.
So what they used to do was that after deciding a poker game, one of the players would invite his partner and they would start gambling.
I think every multiplayer game, gives you a option where you can play with your friends, and you can either bet on yourself or someone else.

Tekken, a similar game genre to it is already an e-sport. I'm just not sure if gambling sites that have an e-sports section allows betting on it. That type of gambling is actually popular in our neighborhood though the ones betting mostly are kids that are below minor-age. There are households here that have a mini-business of 2-player arcade videogame where you need to put a coin to play. Usually a household only have 2-3 arcade machines to use but the kids that want to play are more than that. Those who are just watching thought of a way how to enjoy while waiting for their turn to play. They are betting to the 2 kids that are playing. Most of them usually have a small amount of coins to play so It's a clever idea since the winning bettor will have more coins to play.

Years ago me and my office mates who lives in a boarding house as we take one house as our job is very far from our home. So every night after office we will all gathered together and play video games like $10. And the game? It was Tekken 1, Lol being played in PlayStation 1. But now it's totally different, I mean we have Esports right now that has somewhat becoming mainstream as there are huge money involved. So yes, we had this kind of betting too, but it's more of like friendly games.

I just playing Street Fighter for fun and that was a long time ago. It is fun playing with friends or cousin together. Sometime we use money to bet who will be the winner. But we do that by secret and don't want our parents know what we did But now, I am not playing the game anymore because I know the hardware is change a lot and can not be the same as before. Besides that, I don't playing videogames now but maybe I will try to check it later.

We have a similar one but it is tournament that holds at the end of every year. We would have different people come together to form a team and there will be money to be won for the teams that come first. There are people who also drop their bets on the team who they think would win the tournament at the end of the day. It is usually fun and interesting bets.

Thanks for the explanation, that's cool, it's practically all p2p (peer-to-peer), or Player 2 Player hahaha I thought there was a platform, but this way it's very simple and should be more practical. If you ever want to share a live stream on Twitch, post it here so we can watch it I used to play a lot of SF and MK, but my fighting days are long gone, today I'm pretty untrained and I'd definitely lose the bet. If I'm not mistaken there are some sites that place bets on professional fighting games, I think I've seen them but I can't remember where At BC.Game they broadcast some FIFA matches, but I think it's in automatic mode, you can bet and watch.

That's cool. I am a fan of fighting games during the popularity of console games like PS1 and Dreamcast. I usually play Tekken 3, but I stopped when I couldn't afford a PS2 back then. What I did was just play arcade games, although there's no money on the line. Just a sports game where you can continue playing if you win. Then, another one will challenge you and try to beat you. I like this. Where are you playing this? Do you use a controller when playing it? Or just the keyboard suffice? It will be nice to have a set of joysticks just like the arcade while playing Street Fighter games, but I know they are kind of expensive.

If it is an online game, how can someone be 100% sure that his opponent will pay? It is always possible to abandon account and run away if you lose. Or there is someone who escrow funds? I think as you play it low bet, you havent experience cases when someone refuse to pay. Since the games itself are costly today, paying $2-$10 is something affordable. But if someone loses $1000 in best of 3 fight in just 3 minutes, winner might get problems of receiving his money.

Yeah I don't think this should be under eSports...most of these online gaming competitions are added to some bookmakers for gamblers to bet on but I don't go near such games because I have no idea about them.. you are right about eSports, there are lots of manipulation involved and as a bettor you must always be ready to lose if you stake on such games, They were designed for the bookies to profit

We're complete amateurs, but we enjoy playing in tournaments. There are a lot of them on the site start.gg, which is a platform focused on gaming tournaments. You can actually find all kinds of tournaments for a wide variety of games there. One of these days I'll stream one and share it with you guys so you can watch,it's pretty fun. Don't forget to drop a like and a sub haha.

Sadly, not my case. I don't consider myself to be good enough in a competitive game for me to step into a tournament and put money on the table. Years ago, when I had more spare time to do whatever I wanted I considered to start to practice and become more professional and competitive on Counter Strike Source, or Counter Strike 1.6 No-Steam, a version which is significantly popular here in Venezuela, but I ended up using my spare time to do other things. If I had to chance to get some professional skills through time, I would like to get into League of Legends or Dota2, since I pretty much enjoy mobas, but unfortunately their communities can be specially toxic when one is trying to learn and refine ones skills.

Mortal Kombat is a game I played so much while little. My favourite character was sub-zero. Technology makes everything better. In the betting part this is more of skill than any luck. The best player wins in the end. From what I understand now, the money staked is different from the prize pool for the winner. Can people also get addicted to this type of gambling too? If you think about it, the stake that ranges between $2-10 is high enough for someone to consider it and also still low for the person to not have any problem staking $2 or $3.

Oh man, these were the pretty good old days. The old video games shops that I am always in when I was kid waiting for challengers and trying to beat them up not knowing that I play better than them. I don't see this anymore if it's with the arcades because that's the common thought of what a video game was before. Right now, they're in the esports and all of those counter strikes, warcraft games and then all of the MOBA that are common today. Gone are the old days but I always remember them and it was one of the best era of our lives as a kid.
