Addiction is addiction weather rich or poor can be addicted it doesn't matter your financial state  moreso addiction is a function of what you do repeatedly over a period of time. For me I feel like when you give too much time to gambling until you do not have control over it again then it be seen as an addiction, most times the rich do not have that much of all the time to keep on gambling so for me I feel like that's why they don't really get addicted easily but however there a few rich people who are probably addicted but I think it's a few am just judging this from my observations in my city

Of course, the reason rich people don't get addicted easily is because they have little time to gamble and little time to stay at home. Just look at how nowadays rich people even prefer to buy private planes and helicopters so they can make short trips quickly and avoid mixing with ordinary people at airports. This way, the rich have schedules like being in city Y at time X for a meeting, then in city H for an art exhibition, and then at time B for another charity event. Their day becomes very full of things, and this doesn't leave them time to gamble.

In that case time actually can be taken to be what makes the difference between the rich and poor getting addiction to gambling, because it takes available time for a gambler to be able to fall into addiction but when he is so engaged with other meaningful engagements that doesn't give him that available time to always gamble ita gonna be quite difficult to start developing those addiction tendencies. The poor would always have the time because most of them think that they can escape  their poverty through gambling.

Of course the rich people do get addicted to something..just like everyone else...but what makes the difference is how we view it and what goes on around them (the rich)..yes we might think that the rich don't get addicted because... obviously he's rich he has money (lots of it)...

A rich man can fund his betting addiction without stress or getting a loan..they can easily maintain their properties and Jobs for a very long time...they'll still look good and neat (Appearance)..so we hardly see them fall hard the way we see most poor people do...

But for the poor person it's different because the money is not available to find his addictions..so he might:end up in jail (if he steals)...or end up in the hospital...or worse...

But the crazy thing there is..."Addiction for the rich man is more dangerous"...because they can easily fund and have access to whatever thing they need.. like..money for gambling and some other substance a person can be addicted to...


So we might think the rich don't get addicted because their addictions are hidden...unlike the poor...

I will agree with you to some extent and I think the major reason and difference between the poor and the rich is responsibility, because responsibility is what keeps a rich man busy but not necessarily all rich man because some don't take or look at those responsibility especially some of those that are born with a silver and Golden spoon, some of them don't know how to take responsibility and sometimes they waste all that has been there before them because they don't know the use of it. Both rich and poor are liable to addiction but it is just what you decide and chose.

Very correct, addiction doesn't matter your financial status ones you have started to gamble anyhow just know that addiction will be the next thing that follows. There have been some rich gamblers that are addicted to gamble and they have later gone broke/poor because of their irresponsible gamble and there are some other gamblers that are not even rich but get they are not addicted to gamble. My whole point is that addiction doesn't matter your financial status.

This is an open question, maybe I could be wrong in the eye of some of you but am asking this question because a  large number of addicted gamblers are not even up to a middle class standard but they are addicted. Can someone tell me why it's like that or is it totally a different case in your society, maybe an opposite of what I asking is happening in your own society. Poor people gets more addicted, following the middle class before it gets to the rich. Since it's like that, I think it's just the poor people that are gambling the most in the world, if am not correct, I stand to be corrected.

They get addicted also, but because you not are around or gamble with them you hardly know that they easily become an addict, addiction can happen to anyone in as much as you are not gambling responsibly by not setting a limit in time and cash, you don't know when to call it a day or when to stop, since they are rich, people hardly figures it out that they are addicted because they quickly handle the situation before it gets worse and noticed by people..

Most rich people don't believe in luck. They believe they have to take calculated risk and they don't see gambling as major area for taking that risk. They can invest in bitcoin but may not give in to gambling. At least in Nigeria, I don't see most rich people gambling as source of income. If you see gambling as source of income then you will become an addict.

Another observation is the rich gamble reasonably and with the money that they can afford to let go and not chase back what they have lost. If you chase for your loses then you are likely to be an addict.

Yea, I quite agree with you. Though the rich also gamble, but of course, they have the money to do that as big as they want. And if they loss, they think about it and then take a better approach next time, not like the poor that will cry heaven and earth down, telling the whole world that they have lost all there live savings to gambling.

Imagine these scenarios now. A rich man takes some huge money from his savings or investment to gamble and he lost it, he feels bad, and then works for few weeks or months, and he recovers the loss, and he moves on. Sometimes, it may not really be a problem for him since he has many sources of income at his disposal. And now, the honourable poor man who sells his house, or land or items to gamble and then he losses, how would he keep quiet? So he cries and tell the whole world that his world has ended today🤣.

i largely agree with what you have said. addiction is not really about being rich or poor rather it is about behavior and habits. if someone repeatedly does an activity over a long period of time and eventually loses control over it that is when it turns into addiction. the same applies to gambling. having more or less money is not the main factor the main issue is how much time is being spent and whether that time is harming other areas of life.

however i also think that in the case of wealthy people the damage is often less visible because they have greater financial capacity. even if they gamble large amounts the immediate impact may not be obvious so the addiction can remain hidden. on the other hand for poorer people even small losses become very noticeable. so even if addiction appears more or less severe in different cases in reality the risk is the same for everyone. in the end lack of control awareness and respect for limits is what leads to addiction regardless of who the person is.

No, it's not that, no matter how much money you have, you can lose it in gambling. Not a few people who have a lot of money lose all their money in gambling, a simple example of someone who wins the jackpot, for example, after winning, he might improve his lifestyle but after a few days he will run back to gambling to bet and lose his money again in gambling, meaning there are differences in habits, mindsets and focuses in this life, poor people in gambling seek profit while rich people have goals only for entertainment, this will certainly give birth to different actions in gambling (don't mind talking about the amount of money used) because what makes the difference is the mindset and busyness.

Anyone can become addicted to gambling without following the right rules, whether rich or poor, it doesn't matter, the main thing is to control yourself while gambling. Setting time and money at the beginning, controlling greed or emotions, taking time after losing or winning, gambling repeatedly to get back the lost money due to emotions or greed is absolutely not right, another thing is to set aside the money we need in advance, and use it in the sense that we can lose. For me, that's the main reason, there's no other. I think many rich people focus on this type of entertainment just to build social relationships or something like that, not for something more like making money They already have money, it's entertainment to escape boredom.

Some of the rich are said to be more interested in gambling in live casinos than online ones because of how they want to meet up with their fellow wealthy people; not just because they want to gamble, but they could consider that as a means to create some kind of relationship among themselves when they are still gambling for fun purposes and it has not gone beyond that.

it is true that gambling does not have class, but the majority of people you see who are suffering from addiction are the poor, because when it comes to the value of money, rich people value money more than poor people, because they already have the means of making more money. and the poor are still looking for means to make money, and they are always trying everything in their power to make money, and this is not how it is supposed to be. We know that we are supposed to try things out, but when it comes to gambling, we have to make gambling know its place. And you should not see gambling as a means to escape poverty.

And this is why all this is about understanding, and when you see rich people gambling, they will definitely get a lot of things in return, and it might be in one of their meetings with their fellow businessmen discussing how to increase their business and partnership, so this is very important for us to know that you have to be smart about decisions like that and not just gamble for fun, it should not go beyond that.
