Rangers will host the first leg at Ibrox Stadium, and the bookies have Rangers @1.86 odds and Panathinaikos @4.02 odds. Rangers seems to be the favorite team because they will host the match. While I believe some bookies would prefer the Rangers odds because they will be playing at home.

I am pretty sure that Raphinha has questions right now though. We have seen him be questioned and they were looking for Nico, and now they are looking for someone else. If they are so happy with Raphinha, then why are they looking for someone else? What's the point? I am not sure, but I have a sneaky feeling that Raphinha will be sold and because his stock value is high right now, that should not be impossible at all.

I am of a very different opinion in this taught of discussion,  Xabi Alonso I do not think is under any pressure,  it is very true the team wants a better performance and results for the team but they are also aware he just came in and the club world cup was his first tournament to have managed the team through. By the time the new season must have gone half way, there are chances room for pressure will be seen. Strengthening the midfield by the way is not a wast of time,  that is usually a strong hold for teams who play the style Real Madrid play as a team, they play a very possessive style of game and I they must maintain it then it has to start from the midfield.

What's the performing ratio of these elite teams when they're having a poor season. We should look forwards towards ensuring we sealed our moves and become independent in our race. I think it's Six teams not Five. England is sending 6 teams to the champions league because of Tottenham Hotspur that won the Europa league so they get an automatic qualification and then there is five teams, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle united who got a spot also. The group stage will really stacked and I think It will be interesting next season. I expect premier league teams to do well and go far in the competition at least they should survive the knock out round and reach the quarter final and Semi Final.

There is always something special about the Spanish teams when they play the champions league, the Aura Real Madrid have got in this competition is unmatched. Rangers have an advantage over the Greek team because they're playing in their own league. Panathinaikos is one of Greece's oldest and best teams. Meeting Rangers in the second qualifying round is unfortunate for them. Similarly, I'd say this match is unfortunate for Rangers, as both teams have a chance of advancing. You are right. He will do it but it must be gradual process, Xabi Alonso won’t rush I understand that the expectation from him is already very high, from fans and the management. I can't believe UCL is already starting, we are just in July, and the club world cup just ended, so the fact that games are so close to each other is weird feeling. I mean it happens with national teams, but usually not with club teams playing so close to each other. I am sure teams at club world cup, do not have these games, they will start later on, but it's still a weird feeling to see club games so back to back in a summer.

In any case, this summer happened great for betting, we never had to take a big break, which means that we are back at betting without much break. I doubt it is just because the game is at their home, when you have odds like that, even if it was in Greece, rangers would have been favourites, obviously the odds would be closer, but it would still be rangers that are favourites. However, when it is this early into the season, I would say there aren't any clear favourites, considering how most of the teams are just getting started on the training, and mainly not even training their best players.

I have seen some friendlies and they were playing either the young players, or their bench players, with only a few starters playing. Which means, neither team is ready, nobody can be ready this early into the season, how can you be ready in July, so that could give Pana some advantage, catching Rangers off guard and not ready would be their only chance.

Over the period of time he has managed the team, he did excellently well to have brought them this far in the club World Cup but unfortunately fell out of the competition at the semifinals, no one will say that wasn’t a great performance by him. Real Madrid just needs to prepare for their next season encounter because it will really tell if they can do well in the champions league competition also. I am not too familiar with both teams but base on their statistics, I feel Rangers will be the better team to advance to the next round of the qualification games even though it won’t be that easy for them to make it to the champions league next season to play in top tier with other top teams. This is the champions league and it only takes some grace sometimes that you’ll see smaller teams making it that far in this type of competitions.

I also don’t think we are supposed to attack Xabi Alonso yet, because even when he started coaching, we had already been seeing improvement in Real Madrid’s performance.
