After P S G lost to Chelsea in the club world cup final there where a lot of discussions regarding there potentials in the up coming champions league, some where saying they winning the champions league was just luck why other call them different names that signifies how wick the team is without knowing a time like this will come when they will still stand there ground as the champions of Europe.

PSG have started their 2026/2027 champions league campaign with a thunderous win against Atlanta today, scoring four humiliating goals that they never replied proving their hope to win the champions league is still alive. I know it will be difficult believing they can shock the world but let's watch and see how the season will end.

This result is a statement by PSG that they still has a lot of potential in them that they still have what it takes to to defend their title, I hope that this result will send a message to all those who doubted the chances of PSG in the champions League.

Yes, the match between Bayern Munich and Chelsea was indeed more exciting. Chelsea had to play more aggressively in the second half to keep the pressure on Bayern Munich's players. Bayern Munich played a very neat and composed ball circulation, allowing the home team to dominate the match.

The second half has begun, and I hope Chelsea's defenders play more cautiously and focused to avoid the mistakes they made in the first half.

The match has to be interesting that's why it was the main match I was anticipating to watch this midweek in the Champions League. Funny enough the game in terms of goals has gone as I wanted, both teams to score and ov 2.5, it even came through in the first half. These are the types of matches I love, score goals early so that bettors can behave peace and rest of mind. I just love this very match that I'm watching.

Bayern Munic was just too much for Chelsea tonight, they outplayed them and still defeated them. Although Chelsea tried their best but were just not lucky to get some their chances converted and one of their goal by Palmer allowed. I knew that the presence of Diaz in Bayern Munic will be a problem for the Chelsea defense because I don't just know how Chelsea would be able to stop Harry Kane, Diaz and Olise.

Seriously Liverpool were just lucky in the match it would have ended as a draw. Liverpool scored 2 goals within 6 minutes, I was expecting Liverpool not to score less than 4 goals in the match, but immediately Liverpool scored the two goals, they couldn’t score any goal again until during the extra time given, which they were able to score their last goal which gave them a win in the match.

Liverpool will have to work on their defense, they concede so easily in matches, I never believed Atletico Madrid will score two goals in the match, Liverpool had to struggle before they could win the match. Seriously Liverpool defense is so weak, and they have to work on it, if they don’t work on it, then there are some matches which they will end up losing, and the cause will be their poor defense.

It wasn’t easy if you ask me… Although they dominated and had the higher possession but what really made that possible was the early two goals, chelsea gave in and had to defence more after they had their first goal..
Overall I wasn’t expecting more than 2-1 but 3-1 is not bad either even though it should have ended with 3-2 or draw without a PK which was what exactly I was expecting[2-1 or draw].
Still I expected Bayern to win it anyways and they did win it.. nicely sealed

Just too bad for me though because I actually wanted them to draw and just stop pouring the goals as I predicted the game not to have such amount of goals but we can never know the outcome of football till the whistle is blown and this was exactly what happened to my game and it's weird because some people would have actually played Liverpool to win but Liverpool securing that win must have make them happy and some that didnt very sad like me.

Another 6 games completed today and the last 6 of the first round to be played tomorrow, which is a bit unusual. That's due to some change in scheduling format, and introduction of "exclusive matchweek" which, for the Champions League, falls on September 16, 17 and 18.

The first 2 days were pretty exciting, with some good games. The teams were set rather offensively, with an average of 3.5 goals per game, with only one goalless draw.

I don't think we had any surprises today. I expected a bit more from Chelsea, I thought they would be able to go home with at least one point, but Bayern did not let that to happen. An easy win for the German team. But I believe they were the favourite anyway.

The most interesting one for tomorrow is definitely Man City Vs Napoli. As much as I'm hoping for the City to win, I don't think Napoli will be an easy opponent, as they have a really good defence (only 1 goal conceded in the last 3 league games).

I was thinking that Chelsea will surprise Bayern Munic just the way they did to PSG but it seems Bayern Munic came prepared knowing that such is possible. They did not allow the Blues to dominate the match and were very aggressive from all corners which I guess got Chelsea a little confused. It was from the second half that Chelsea started showing more seriousness and had more attempts but they were not able to redeem the match. I think Bayern Munic deserve the winning they got.

Liverpool actually felt comfortable on the 2:0 lead against Athletico Madrid and were relaxed  only to be awakened by ATM comeback making it 2:2, a result that had it ended this way would have being really painful to Liverpool fans.  Liverpool simply got lucky to have scored that late minute goal to clinch the 3 points in the game.  Seems they have always gotten a late winner goal in all their games this season.

Diego Simeone has always being a drama king, can't be surprised he got carded.

In the 20 th minute of the second half, we did not see much of a good performance from chelsea. And in the 63rd minute, Harry kane's second goal gave Bayern Munich a 3 -1 lead. Honestly , I expected a better gameplay from Chelsea today. But they were not  able to perform as expected. Even after being behind 3-1, it is very unlikely  that Chelsea will be able to earn points in the match. Bayern Munich's defense is quite strong. Chelsea is not able to take any advantage in today's match. Munich is going to start their Champions League journey with a win in the home match.

It is truly amazing that Bayern Munich have won the Champions League in the first match for 22 consecutive seasons. The team performed well in today's match. Almost all the players in their team are very skilled and experienced. But Chelsea's situation is unfortunate. Although they had some chances in the beginning, they missed those chances. After the own goal by Chalobah and the penalty from Caicedo, it is natural that the team will lose confidence. If so many mistakes are made in such a tournament, it is definitely not a good sign for them. Although Chelsea had chances again and again, the players could not use those chances properly.

Well, I'm surprised that you're somehow blaming Chelsea for them been possessed by Bayern Munich. That's Bayern pattern of football, to possess their opponent, so you don't have to blame Chelsea in that aspect. Bayern was the better team and they deserve the win. Bayern is not all that; Chelsea were just not good enough to win the game. Their defence and attack are not that good. People overrate Chelsea because of their performance in the Club World Cup. This is a different competition. I had no doubt that Bayern would win that game. I said it here a couple of times that Bayern would win the game; it was too obvious for all to see, except that you are a Chelsea fan. 

Their next three Champions League games are against Benfica, Ajax and Qarabag. Those are games they can win. They will be Benfica even though they just hired Mourinho. Ajax and Qarabag won't be difficult fixtures, so I believe they can get 9 points from those games to keep their hope alive. Barcelona and Napoli are the only difficult fixtures they have left, Atalanta and Pafos are not that difficult.

With the super dominance in Bayern Munich game today their is no doubt they are one of the best team in Europe. They had an excellent, unimaginable and dominated football game today against Chelsea that people thought will humiliate them the same way they humiliated PSG in the club world cup but reverse was the case.

This why I talk about been really careful when playing against small teams, you may get comfortable and carried away such that you end up loosing at the time you were supposed to secure your wins and Liverpool are really good at this last minute victory that is why when playing against them never think it is over until it actually is because you may think it is meanwhile the last minute is all Liverpool needed to make the difference.

The first half between Madrid and Marseille ended with a score of 1-1, but considering the condition of the game, I think this is still very good for both clubs because they really played openly, which made the situation enjoyable to watch.

However, there are a few notes for Madrid, where they actually looked quite dominant, but they lost the ball more often, which made the situation less comfortable.
On the other hand, players like Rodrygo and Mastantuono seemed eager to prove themselves capable, but it was precisely in these moments that issues arose, as they often lost possession while attempting to dribble.

Xabi Alonso used the match as an opportunity to rotate players, and it gave players who usually sit on the bench a chance to prove themselves. Frankly, I was a little surprised, Marseille was able to put up a fierce fight and made it difficult for Real Madrid to find the net. Additionally, the tension in the match was really high for the first game, and we saw another red card issued to a Madrid player. In this match, Carvajal, who was a bit emotional, made an unnecessary move that resulted in him being suspended for the next game.

On the other hand, in terms of results, although there will be a lot of criticism because of the penalty goal, I am quite satisfied with the result for Madrid in this first match.

Jude looks fit and ready, which is faster than the medical team's previous prediction for his recovery, but this will clearly be very helpful for Madrid's midfield. However, he did not play in this match and could be projected to make his La Liga debut after his injury against Espanyol next week.

Harry Kane is the ''torn in the flesh'' of Chelsea, i knew he would score against Chelsea, and he has just gotten a brace and might even make it 3 because the tempo of the game is increasing and the pressure on Chelsea is becoming too much. Anyways, i wouldn't blame Chelsea in this game because they are playing from away, the home team got more advantage than them. Chelsea should just try not to concede more goals, or they better make the score 3:2. Maresca really need to do more work is Chelsea's defense because that is where their problem lies now, though i didn't see much of attacking force from Chelsea's strikers but if the defense was solid, they wouldn't have conceded more than 2 goals.

I think you shouldn't blame Chelsea for allowing Bayern Munich hold the ball throughout the game because that is the football pattern of Bayern Munich, and it is only few clubs in the world that can take possession from Bayern Munich. Vincent Kompany is gradually building Bayern Munich back to their old ways, and I believe if Vincent Kompany continues with his good work at Bayern Munich, Bayern Munich can regain their dominance in the Champions League.

Vincent Kompany have really succeeded in bringing back the glory of Bayern Munich even when he was underestimated at first when he became their manager, but he proved himself worthy of coaching a big team like Bayern Munich and the team is becoming so formidable again. What we should know is that Bayern Munich always finds it easy to win Chelsea whenever they meet and checking the head-to-head you will see that Bayern Munich have won 4 times (the match tonight inclusive) while Chelsea has only won them once, the second time was through a penalty shoot-out in the finals of the Champions League in 2011/12 season. Despite that Bayern Munich has been backward in the Champions League in recent years but they are among the big teams in the Champions League especially during the time of players like Toni Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribery, Thomas Mueller, Arjen Robben, and Mario Gomez. These players really made Bayern Munich great.

I have to speak on Harry Kane and say how good he is, both in goal scoring and linking of play with his other Bayern teammates. Chelsea needs to put their feet to the ground in their upcoming games because the Champions League is not the Club World Cup; there are no small teams in this competition, as they all earned their place.

Palmer is an exceptional player, and he will definitely be an important factor for Chelsea if they are going to succeed in the Champions League this season.
