Yes it is correct that this French player is the recipient of this prestigious special award if there is no manipulation at the Ballon d'Or ceremony today. However this player may not have come into the spotlight by accident because they have many trophies behind their success, Even everyone has probably seen it with their own eyes that he has a great record of winning trebles this season that Lamine Yamal, and other Spanish players, have not been able to create. But honestly, the four players namely Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, Hakimi and Nuno Mendes really deserve the top 10 because this players have done exceptionally well in recent years and the most exciting display was in the Champions League games last season. Probably, this is a clear sign that the Ballon d'Or is going to PSG, because i will be surprised if after the 4 players appeared in the top 10 and none of them could win it. Ousmane Dembele has gotten most of the achievement that would qualify him to win the prestigious awards because winning the treble last season was a good boost for him in his football career but what if he doesn't win it as most people anticipated? will it trigger severe controversy?

Being too young or old in the Ballon d'Or race has nothing to do with the winner, Yamal is young but if he has the performance of deserving the award then it will be given to him. The result hasn't been shared but based on what we all watched Dembele is who we can 90% vouch to receive the award tonight.

If FIFA knows best, we know Raphinha should be equally competing along side Yamal for the award, if Dembele doesn't win tonight then it's not something new, results in the Ballon d'Or don't always go as majority would expect.

Some have already said the ballon d' Or award ceremony has lost its intrinsic value right from the Christiano Ronaldo - Lionel Messi era where the award was favoured to a particular individual as many times as possible in a row even when they obviously don't deserve it in the season.

It got more controversial with the Vinicius Jnr and  Rodri contention when it felt like Vini deserved it but it was Rodri that was awarded the ballon d'Or. Am convinced they wouldn't make anymore controversy by giving it to anyone rather than Ousmane Dembele of PSG.

But truth be told a lot of wrongs has happened in the ballon d' Or award making many not to trust the organisers of the award because they believed that right from when they failed to give the award to the best deserving candidate in the past they will not believe them again to make the best judgement.

Coming to the last year's own everyone believed that the winner would be Vini Junior since he was the best performing player as at that time but when he was ignored and Rodri was given the award it made many believe that they will never get better and the award will soon lost it's value completely.

This year is another time to know if they will do the right thing by awarding Ousmane Dembele with the award because he's the best among the rest candidate but tonight we will know the outcome of the results.

I think it would be tough for them to do something silly this time around cause the odds are pointing at Dembele from all angle, he's the best man for the award and the organizers should make sure the do the right thing this time around else people would start to downgrade the award as a piece of trash.

I disagree with you, age shouldn't or is not suppose to be a factor in Ballon d'or award and I believe the only reason why Lamine Yamal would or may not win this award is because he has less trophy, Ousmane Dembele has more trophy than him and this is the only advantage that would make Dembele beat him in this award else,  Lamine Yamal deserve it because he is the first person in the history of football to perform and display such incredible and an amazing play at his age and he has been consistent. But he should keep up with the performance if he doesn't win this year and one thing I like so much about him is the zeal to play.

With or without Real Madrid the whole of football will still look forward to the ballon d’Or award night. Lamine Yamal will likely be back next season, and he might win this award then. If he doesn't win today, it might spur him on. Achieving such success at the age of 18 is extraordinary.

We all are here when everyone was expecting Vinicious to win only to for Balon D'or to make a pre announcement to announced Rodrigo as the winner. In the last 2-3 Balon D'or, the winners were hint to be the winner so everyone knows the winner but were waiting for the announcement, but this year we can see that there hasn't been a pre-announcement about the winner, it could be that Dembele might not the winner, I don't just understand this people.

Players need to work on how to reduce their expectations, Balon D'or vote is based on the outcome of journalists they say, it's not something that is certain unless you think you don't have a match. It was easy to know players that was deserving during Messi and Ronaldo time but now, things are not the way it's anymore. Has age been part of the criteria in awarding the Ballon D'or to the deserving player in any of the year throughout the award ceremony history? Y. Yamal has made influential factor in his national team success and in his club Barcelona and on individual performance he is an impressive character. He can still win the prize this year and still prove himself in the many years he has to play football. O  Dembele is favoured by most importantly for winning the champions league with Paris Saint Germans and that is the edge he has in the competition with Yamal in winning the Ballon D'or prize.

These Portuguese players deserves whatever ratings and positions they currently occupy. I am so proud of Vitinha and Mendes.  I still think that Salah should have come higher up than Cole Palmer who I believe should go down below. Finally,  with Yamal awarded that trophy, there's no way he is not winning this Ballon d'Or tonight. Hakimi consistency brought him this far, he will also win the African best player award. He is the current best player from Africa who performed at top level consistently.

When Lamine Yamal was announced as the young best player i just concluded that it is obvious that Ousmane Dembele will be crowned the ballon d'Or winner. Viktor Gyokeres also won the best striker, and PSG won the best team. If not that Donnaruma left for Manchester City, he would have won this award in PSG but i still feel he won it for PSG because that where all the achievement that got him the award came from. Enrique winning the best coach is well deserved, PSG will be going home with the most awards this night. Congratulations to all the award winners while we await the major declaration of the night.

In a short time we will have a Ballon d'Or winner. I think Dembele will win because his previous season was very good. He has won many trophies, especially the UEFA Champions League, which, by winning it increases the probability of winning the Ballon d'Or by 70%. Well, if you tell the truth, other players have performed much better than Ousmane Dembele, but in reality they have not won the UEFA Champions League....
