It is overly simplistic to say that Argentina lost only because Messi did not play well in the final. He has already scored 8 goals and taken Argentina to the final at the age of 40, which is not an ordinary achievement. Rather, it is an extraordinary achievement. Again, Messi has created many opportunities for the other players of his team to attack.
However, there is no opportunity to underestimate Kane and Dembele just by looking at the results of one knockout match. Kane has scored 6 goals and made one assist in the entire World Cup. Although he is eliminated against France, I will not underestimate him for that.
People can have their opinion to their self, I believe people will say what they want to say, sometimes it's useless to correct people and try to show them because they are going to believe what they want to and not what you have to say. Why even complain Messi didn't play well, alright he didn't do well what about the rest of the players that day, they did a very terrible job, they were aggressive in that match compared to all others they payed on that very day. I saw a several tweest and the one that caught my attention is that one relate to Mbape and the fans have started using that for campaign already. They said a player that is trophiless in a season can win Balon D'or which was directly pointing fingers to Mbape, he was the best player with Golden booth and yet the teams didn't win any league and in 2013, Ronaldo won a Balon D'or but never had the any trophy, so it's likely he is going to win this one.

The closest to them behind is Dembele with 21.00 odds. It must be due to missing a ton of games this season. By the way I wasn't waiting for Kane to be top favourite. Kane and Yamal had a good club performance last season. Both of them won their local leagues and contributed greatly to the success of their clubs. The English captain's 61 goals in 51 outings is outstanding. So I'm not surprised that he is topping the list of players for the Ballon d'Or award. What is Messi doing on the list? Maybe because he led Argentina to the final. In my view, he was not supposed to be on the list considering that he plays for a lowly placed league. The bad behaviour of the Argentine team, which he captains, should be another reason not to vote for him to win the award. If FIFA likes let them put anybody in the list as long as Messi isn't the favorite, I'm not bothered about it. There is no manipulation FIFA can do this time around to say that Messi is the favorite. Of course, the English international Harry Kane deserves the Ballon d'or because his performance was extraordinary last season both in the world cup and in his domestic league. He scored the highest goal in Europe Leagues last season. Do you have a problem with Messi being Favorite to win the Ballon d’Or, anybody can win the Ballon d’Or as long as the player had a good World Cup and also had a good Champion League, but I’m seeing Rodri as the Favorite to win the World Cup, because of his performance in the World Cup, and also the next person I’m seeing that can win the Ballon d’Or as favorites is Messi, he also had a good performance in the World Cup, but the French organizers of the award have said that winning the World Cup isn’t the only Criteria for winning the Ballon d’Or, Harry Kane haven’t done enough to be considered as a potential winner.

To all those users who blame Messi for under-performing in the final, I'd like to ask the following question: was Messi playing alone? Or was he playing with other 10 teammates? And what did these teammates do? Not only during the final, but during the whole tournament. They should be ashamed of their performances because if your only tactic is to pass the ball to a 39-year-old guy and expect him to do something out of the blue, clearly there is something wrong. If it wasn't for Messi Argentina would have been eliminated by Cape Verde. Or Egypt.

If it wasn't for Messi Argentina would have been eliminated by Cape Verde. Or Egypt. I agree with you. How much further can one person take the whole team forward? He has done enough for the Argentina team. In this World Cup, he has scored 8 goals for the team alone. This contribution cannot be denied in any way. Maybe the other teams were a bit weaker, so they could not put much pressure on Messi, so Messi could score and assist easily. In the case of Spain, they could not supply the ball properly to Messi. Even the other members could not take the ball close to the goal with their own ability. The other members of the team, due to Messi dependence, their main goal was to deliver the ball to Messi. And Spain created an obstacle to this. Where the rest of Argentina's players could not pass properly among themselves and it became even more difficult for them to pass to Messi. Messi may not be there in next the World Cup. Then they will have to play independently. For this, the Argentina team should change their game planning from now . So that they can maintain their position even with strong teams. Only then will they be able to win matches independently without Messi.

Who will win this year's Ballon d'Or depends on what the voters consider, as it is determined by combining information and data on a player's individual performance, consistency, team success and contribution of big matches etc. that is why it is definitely difficult to declare a player the winner of the Ballon d'Or. Different individuals may have different opinions here and they may have sufficient justification. In my opinion, I would keep Lamine Yamal ahead. It is also important to consider that it is not just about doing well in the World Cup, there are many players who have had good previous statistics despite not doing well in the World Cup. That is why it is difficult to predict who will win the Ballon d'Or.

Balloon Dor criteria is not base on one tournament. They voted on your whole year performance some of your individual performance also included and your team trophy as well depending on your voting criteria. But I think Messi is the one who is consistent to deliver good performance throughout the whole year and that's why they count them in the Balloon Dor ranking. Some of the name I think they will be remain the same in the Balloon Dor ranking. It will be Messi , Mbappe, Kane , yamal , Rodri , Dembele. But I think if some one deserves the most that's will be yamal and he is the one who take this trophy to the home Andy my favourite as well to win the 2026 ballon d’or.

The World Cup indeed has a serious impact on Ballon d'Or winner. However the officials claim that the winner isn't selected according to the World Cup champion directly. We'll find out about it soon then! If Harry Kane gets the prize I'll believe in it for sure. But if a Spanish player like Yamal or Rodri is given it then I won't find it sincere... Yamal doesn't deserve it to tell the truth after not playing much of a role in the World Cup title as well.

That's why I was saying that Messi's 8 goals at almost 40 years old and taking Argentina to the final is extraordinary. Everyone only talks about Messi's side and doesn't care to see what others have done. As if Messi plays for the team alone and the rest watch the joke. I saw a several tweest and the one that caught my attention is that one relate to Mbape and the fans have started using that for campaign already. The example you gave is relevant. Yes, when Cristiano Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or in 2013, he won the Ballon d'Or solely for his individual performance even though his team did not win the title. Based on this example, it is clear that Mbappe will not be excluded from the Ballon d'Or competition just because his team France did not win. Yes, the circumstances of each season may be different, so the 2013 example may not be completely applicable to today. It is entirely up to the voters if they consider the impact of the players over the season as well as their individual performances.

Officials lie all the time and adjust criteria to suit their desired results. Anyone who remembers 2010 and 2022 can't be fooled by this. Football is a team sport and when we talk about a team like Spain now, it’s generally very difficult to single out anyone. The prize for the best player of the tournament, which was awarded to Rodri, could have been given with the same success to 3-4 other Spaniards. Yamal made his contribution and overall he had a good season in Barcelona, but he won't win the award for another reason and I'm going to bet on that.

I agree not to rule out Mbappe but comparing him to Cristiano in 2013 is quite difficult because even though Madrid did not get a trophy in La Liga but Cristiano's individual record is very good where he scored 66 goals from 59 games and that will be very difficult. to be matched in terms of Statistics and voting by Messi and Franck Ribery at the time. Mbappe has a good performance from individuals but for now there are still some players who are able to keep up so even though Mbappe cannot be ruled out for the Ballon d'or this time but for the chance he gets it will be a little difficult if compared to some other players. But there is still time for Mbappe to improve as the domestic competition begins and he only needs to prove himself until October in addition to Mbappe.
