I didn't watch the match but saw how the match statistics and after seeing the replay, Inter Milan really played under great pressure from AS Monaco players, especially for the first half, Inter Milan lost both in terms of ball possession and the number of attacks they made, but even so, they were able to anticipate all of that well and were able to build quite effective attacks. From the results of this match I saw how strong the mentality and motivation of Inter Milan players are, where even though they conceded in the early minutes, and only played with 10 players, they were still able to get up, turn things around and win the match.

I'm pleased with AC Milan results in this match. Not to laughing on them, but losing after going undefeated since the pre-season match against Liverpool could make Milan overconfident. This 4-1 loss give an oportunity for Allegri to look for Milan weaknesses, as the draw against Leeds United also indicated areas for improvement. This lose could make the players more prepared to maintain discipline for the next match. Milan will face Bari next week in the first round of the Coppa Italia. mistakes that made against Chelsea cannot happen again, as this is the first offcial match of the season.

AC Milan, despite having some talented players in the team, were struggling to create scoring opportunities which  made it very difficult for them to get back into the game. I'm beginning to feel like some contractors were just being too delusional on some players -- the likes of Modric who's already 40, but with an expectation of a 23 year-old? How's that even possible?

Though, I am aware of Chelsea's strong pre_season form as they always wanted to dominate the game at all cost, and their performance in the game was actually a testament to their strong pre_season preparations. The players were physically strong and that mentally outplayed AC Milan. AC Milan should improve their squad, Modric can't run much in the midfield, I feel he shouldn't be a preferred starter in their games .

Preseason or not, you gotta show up, Modric’s debut couldn’t turn the tide — lack of cohesion from Milan defenders was glaring. Coubis looked seriously out of depth. Even  Football-Italia points out he needs replacing, pronto.
It’s preseason football, but that collapse serves as a wake-up call. Milan’s got a long way to go before they’re ready for proper competition again.

Agree. Chelsea looks like the best team right now in Europe along PSG and Barcelona so it was kinda normal for them to actually beat Milan in that fashion. However , like you said above , Ac.Milan needs to figure their weakness points and resolve them asap because Serie A start is upon them and right now , I personally cannot see them in top 4 of Serie A.

Ac Milan has not been a good team since last 2 to 3 seasons, I don’t know what is wrong with the team because almost all their players looks like they are not serious, watching Ac Milan match against Chelsea make me think that Ac Milan needs to sell some of their players and sign new players if Ac Milan will not have a good performance this season, Ac Milan haven’t spend much as the other clubs in Serie A are doing, Napoli, Inter Milan and others are signing players with money but Ac Milan is signing Luca Modric that is old from Real Madrid.

If he still wants to stay, it shows his mentality. He probably doesn't want to give up easily, he wants to prove himself with Manchester United. As for the loan, I think it's a very good idea. Højlund maybe get some playing time and Milan could see his potential before full transfer. But, for a full transfer, I think for more than 40 million, Milan could get another player with more playing time and better than him. I'm also not sure Allegri would play him at Milan. Many young players fail to secure a place in the starting eleven i think it very possible happens to him too.

I never understood players who are okay with staying in a team when they are offered zero minutes. It's clear that with Sesko arriving, he wasn't considered before, now he is going to be just nobody there. So the idea that he would be willing to stay even without playing a single game, makes no sense to me.

And not like Milan would not pay him, he would still get the same money as he was getting at United, not a penny less, in fact could be better too. And he would go to a nation he was before, so not like it would be weird, and it's freaking Milano, one of the best looking cities in the world. So when you put all those together, I have no reason I can think of that would make it reasonable for him to not move and just stay and not play.

Even if the team no longer needs him, if the player personally refuses to move, there's probably not much the club can do. The best the club can do is make the player uncomfortable first, so he'll be willing to be sold or loaned to another club. Yes, it's true, it was really unlucky and I understand that it might be a bit annoying for Inter fans, but there are teams that have really been unlucky, unfortunately due to the ranking we weren't able to bring another team into the Champions League and this penalises the situation a lot, I think that's what he was referring to!

I wouldn't call it luck, because Inzaghi gave up initially on winning Scudetto and focused more on UCL matches because he felt that's all he needs to win for Inter. Assuming Inzaghi continued with the vibes that Inter started with and ended the league with the determination of winning Scudetto, Napoli wouldn't have won it.

It was towards the end of the league when there was a few matches left that Inzaghi became thirsty for the Scudetto since he saw that it was possible for him to win both competitions but Napoli had already taken the top spot of the table with three points ahead of Inter.
