Nobody is talking about the Juventus vs Lazio game that ended with a 3-0 win for Lazio. This should be the most unexpected outcome in the Italian league, what exactly happened to the great Juventus? Lazio this season have the best performance but I still expected a tough performance from Juventus, it was a total disaster.
Lazio climbed to the 2nd position below Inter Milan, at the same point. So many tough opposition this season in the league, it has become more interesting to watch than the previous recent seasons.
I think the most unexpected outcome in the Italian league for the week should be Venezia winning Napoli, Venezia is last on the table and winning Napoli to me is a big flex coupled with the penalty miss by Napoli which should have made the game to end in draw. Juventus losing 3:0 to Lazio shouldn't be much of a surprise because the team has been unstable for some seasons, Lazio is not a big team in the league but they have maintained a top level in the league which you cannot categorise them as a small team, they have the capacity to play against the big team in Italy, not like Venezia who the odds is against them before a game will kickoff. None of us could have imagined that Napoli would lose the match like this. Venezia played very well in that match. Napoli were not able to fully recover from the result of their loss to Villarreal. They performed almost the same in both matches. Venezia defeated Napoli, although it was largely due to their luck, I would say that they found Napoli's weakness. Napoli created a strong attack using the wings. Venezia easily understood how to defend this attack. Also, Napoli came to the field thinking that their opponent was weak, but as the first half was goalless, they were under some pressure. That pressure became a big threat for them. In a word, Napoli unimaginably thought the match was easier. As a result, they were careless and fell victim to unexpected blows. Napoli should be more focused on their performance.

The way big teams are performing in the Italian League is something else, only Inter, season by season, is trying to keep themselves at the highest level, even if they don't win the league, Juventus and Napoli are turning mid teams in the league and it is very concerning. Nothing really entices me in the league anymore, i can't even place a good bet on them, the risks are too high, and clubs are very inconsistent with their performance.

I think the league itself has been competitive in the last 5 years or so, after all they have produced different champions in this time frame compared to other top leagues, at least it's something to commend them for. I understand that in the last 2 seasons Inter Milan has always turned up even though they latter lost the Title to Napoli few weeks to go, I still remember it as if it happened just yesterday but nevertheless, they maintained the top team status and fought for it last season and won. This season, their contender of lasted season is not really chasing but let give them the benefit of doubt, the Sean hasn't gone far thingz could still change if we are to maintain the principle of anything can happen, lol.

Lazio beating Juventus doesn't come as a surprise to me, I don't expect anything much from the old ladies as they are called, Juventus keeps declining almost every season, right now it seems as if they can't afford big players and it is really reflecting on the team's performance, the loss against Lazio is just a reminder that Juventus are gradually drifting away from the level of an elite club and may soon get to that point where they might not even get a place in any of the Uefa competitions, perhaps it's about time the owners consider selling the club to foreign investors whom are capable of restoring the club into it's former glory.

We're talking about exactly the same thing. Serie A has been in decline for years now. And it's clear for everyone to see. Inter, which I used as an example, has a very strong team for Serie A, but struggles a lot in the Champions League! Yet it is the same team that has reached the final twice in the last 5 years. I believe that in addition to the money factor, the problem of Serie A is also the fact that they no longer invest in Italian players.
I don't think italian players are one of the factor affecting Inter's poor performance here. The fact they have 8 italian players on their squad such as Bastoni, Barella and Esposito. I think the problem is in the club's quality. Other than club's quality, Chivu's tactic is already exposed and it's easy for other clubs to counter it. I have no hope for Inter in UCL. A huge gap in the money and tactic makes them one of my unfavored team to go the further stage. I'm not underestimating them, but i won't lie their performance is far below what i expected.

All Italian football is doing very badly outside of Italy, because in Italy all the teams are poor but elsewhere the teams are stronger and therefore when the teams face each other, RIGHTLY, the stronger team wins.. rightly It doesn't surprise me at all

In a word, Napoli unimaginably thought the match was easier. As a result, they were careless and fell victim to unexpected blows. Napoli should be more focused on their performance. Honestly, I didn't expect such a loss from Napoli, and that too against a team like Venezia, a team that has lost 6 out of 7 league matches and this was their first win, and that too against a team like Napoli. Venezia is the team that has conceded like the most goals in the table, the weakest team and the team at the bottom of the table, and against of this team is it acceptable that Napoli won't be able to score a goal against this team? I really don't understand what happened to them, they attacked but they couldn't execute any attacks, Napoli couldn't score against a defense that concedes a lot of goals in matches. Anyway, unexpected matches are normal from a team, Napoli lost to fate, and so now they have to focus more on their next matches, Napoli will play against Roma in the next match of Serie A, Roma is currently in very good form, and so Napoli will have to perform very hard in this match.

A quick summary of Italian clubs' performance in matchday 4 of the Champions League:
Napoli 4:3 Bodo/Glimt Roma 4:0 Slovan Bratislava Como 4:1 Man United Inter 1:0 Shakhtar Donetsk
4 games, 4 wins. Some of them hard-earned, but still. It's a good sign and hopefully an indication that Italian teams are able to mark a stronger presence in European tournaments this season.
Today, Juventus is playing at home against Rennes and AC Milan away against Bournemouth in the Europa League. In the Conference League, Atalanta travelled to Amsterdam to face Ajax. There's a chance we could also see all of the Italian clubs winning tonight, but I have low confidence for Milan. Bookies seem to agree as Bournemouth are the favourite, although not a big one. It will be hard for Milan to earn 3 points but a draw is quite possible. As for Atalanta, if they play at 100%, they shouldn't have much trouble winning against Ajax, as Ajax have been a bit disappointing lately.

It is quite extraordinary for four teams in Serie A to remain undefeated for such a long stretch. Lazio, Roma, and Inter—currently occupying the top spots in the standings—have yet to suffer a single defeat.
They are joined by Milan; should Milan win their match today, all four of the top-ranked teams in the league will remain undefeated. Roma’s impressive performance at the start of the season led me to consider them the favorites for the title; however, Lazio is currently in better form.
Roma drew 3-3 with Napoli, even though they had opportunities that could have secured them the win. It was a fantastic match.

The Italian championship started with many surprises, I would say. Inter have lived up to expectations so far, but are starting to lose some of their best players to injury. To date all new signings have been in the infirmary, and statistically this has always played a decisive role at the end of Serie A. I'm really surprised by Lazio's form; they're playing really well! I would have expected the same from Roma, but they've started to lose their form lately. Instead, I am currently disappointed by Napoli, Milan and Juventus who are not bringing improvements but rather worsening. But the championship is still very long, we'll see how it goes for them over time

What a game of football it was between Roma and Napoli yesterday, we saw Roma 2 goals down but still did an incredible comeback, Napoli then strike again and it was looking like a defeat for Roma but they were able to equalize in the last minute of the game and get a draw at the Diego Maradona stadium. The league is so interesting and competitive. Less than an hour now, we saw inter Milan trailing at their home to fiorentina 0-1, it looks like a defeat for them but there way able to get a win in the stoppage time. Inter Milan is moving like a team that want to win the scudetto again this season. The Italian league this season is moving on another level this season so far.

I don't usually pay attention to the Serie A for the past three seasons because we do have repeated season there even though with different champions, but the teams that used to give us joy in the past were not playing well as expected again, and predicting matches looks very difficult because most of the big teams are not predictable. AC Milan that used to be one of the best teams was not in good form, same as Juventus, and Roma was even down for more than five seasons if I am not mistaken, but this season, I can see a lot of changes in the Serie A and I think they worth given time now. These four teams that are yet to lose a single match so far in the campaign are the teams that are the top title contenders. None of them is willing to lose match because they knew how crucial it can be at this moment to drop points because almost all the big teams are set for the season. This is the type of competition that make the Premier League to be the toughest League because we can have top six or top seven teams all competing and any match used to be very tough in the Premier League; now we can have similar experience in the Serie A this season.

It would have been a major surprise had Inter dropped points against Fiorentina. Inter dominated the game from the opening whistle, yet they only found the goals they were looking for during stoppage time. Jimenez scored a fantastic goal; Inter’s goalkeeper expected a cross, but when the ball was fired toward the net, he was left helpless—it was a perfectly placed shot. Fiorentina scored with their very first shot on target. In the absence of Martinez, Inter faced significant difficulties. Fiorentina goalkeeper De Gea performed exceptionally well, but he could do nothing to stop Thuram’s shot in the 90+1st minute. Three minutes later, Drăgușin conceded a penalty after pulling down Thuram; Zieliński converted the spot-kick, allowing Inter—albeit with great difficulty—to secure all 3 points and reclaim the top spot in the standings.

The goal from Jimenez was sensational. It was an absolute beauty, and I couldn't stop watching the replay. I think it will win the goal of the week and might also be in contention for the goal of the month. It's a pity Florentina couldn't get anything out of the game. The visitors did everything right, but towards the end of the match, they let their guards down and eventually got punished.

Juventus and Milan returned to winning ways, both winning by two goals. Milan thus joined Roma in the standings with 18 points. Since the start of the season, we've always praised Gasperini's Roma, but Amorim also seems to be doing great things in Milan. Do you agree with me? Shall we bet that Roma won't finish in the top four in the league?

Napoli gave Roma a hard time on Saturday. Roma came from behind twice to draw 3–3 with Napoli. I learned that they are on a 15-match unbeaten league run since April. But they lost 2 points to the leaders, Inter and Lazio. Lazio are currently overperforming. I don't think many people expected them to do that well at the start of the season. They won 7 out of their 8 league games and lost points only once, in a draw with Milan back in September. The question is whether Lazio can keep this pace and if they truly are capable of threatening Inter in the battle for the championship.
AC Milan is also one of the 4 clubs that haven't yet lost a league game this season. They are holding up in 4th place, being 4 points behind Inter and Lazio, but they need to be a bit more consistent if they don't want to fall out of the race.

Well, Napoli were literally better the whole time, 2-0 is the most dangerous score and it has always been that way. I don't know if you watched the match, maybe one of the top 5 derbies i've watched so far. 6 goals and what goals they were, truly a match that everyone enjoyed. I was hoping for a Napoli win but Roma and Gasperini have decided to make a very good start this season. Napoli could at least finish in the top 5 by the end of the season.

Allegri should review his strategies if he wants to finish in the top four in Serie A

Roma is currently 3 points ahead of Milan as they lead Cagliari with 2 - 1 home lead. Milan on average are somehow balanced in the seriA compared to the Europa. Its no doubt Amorim is doing great things in Milan but his effort has bigger effect in the domestic league. He should step up his game in order to balance his influence across all competitions. As it stands he is not certain of winning the league and there also no hope in the Europa which makes his efforts almost invisible.

Roma is back on track in the title race with a win against Cagliari 4-2 and this will surely boost their confidence after that draw in the last round against Napoli. On the other hand Como beated 1-3 Torino and they were down a goal o most the entire match and in last 15 minutes they scored 3 goals and were able to win. Nico Paz with an amazing assist and goal to give Como a win and put them on that fourth position.
