Mancini was away from European football for a few years. He managed Saudi Arabia and Al-Sadd in the meantime. Now he is back and guess what? His last and first jobs in Europe are the same! 

He has returned to take control of Italy again. It's great to hear about Ranieri's also being given a role there. He is a special manager and these are good moves to start from a point to resurrect the national team.

They missed 3 World Cups in a row. There was a real need for an immediate action. I hope the Serie A quality would also be increased in time.

I agree. Italy hasn't had a great striker in their squad. Kean, Retegui, Raspadori and Esposito. These were the names available in their last WC qualification game. I don't find any of them good enough right now.

I wonder if Mancini will be able to find a different name who can play much better than those names.

In my opinion it's perfect like this with the addition of some players, as he's doing

My impression is that Romero is unnecessary signing. They already got stones, why do they need to sign Romero? They also willing to pay 40m for him. iIt's not worthy if he's also asking the same wages he received at Tottenham. If they gives same wages like what he received at Tottenham. So they make him as the most paid player in the club, which may create chaos in the club.

I'd like to see them splash their money to the new RWB, which is one of their main weakness. When they missed Palestra, they have to find an alternative RWB. So this deal feels so weird, and it's not solving their problem when they lacking of depth in RWB.
If Inter is wise enough, they should leave him alone, then allocate the money to sign a proper RWB.

The thing is I don’t even see a team in Italy that is signing players that will challenge inter Milan for next season. Inter have lost a couple of good players, the likes of Dumfries, and even Bastoni who is likely to leave also. So truly inter Milan don’t need to sign big players to be challenging next season, especially for the scudetto.

The Italian league is losing it value as teams like AC Milan, juventus are no more challenging for the championship,   We have seen inter and Napoli dominated the league in last few years. Juventus and Milan need to start doing well so the league can be challenging as it use to be.

Cristian Romero might be a good player, but Inter has just signed Stones.
I don't think Inter would pay 12 million euros for a defender.
They have Akanji in defense. Stones was just signed. Dumfries went to Real Madrid.
They didn't renew Acerbi's contract.
Inter will have a new defensive line this year, but I still don't think the team would sign a player earning 12 million euros a year by matching that salary. If the player is already earning that amount at Tottenham, why would he come to Inter to seek a new adventure? There is no reason. If Romero were to come, it would be to earn even more money.

Italy is four-time world champion and has won the second most World Cups after Brazil, yet has not qualified for three consecutive World Cups. This is not hard for Italians to accept, I say because it seems so to me from their team's performance. Otherwise, the coaches, managers and policy makers of their football federation are still in their places.There was a time when world class players like Pirlo, Fabio Cannavaro, Francesco Totti played for their team. Now that country is not producing good players, it is really unacceptable.

However, it is clear and there is no way to hide that Italian football is in crisis, but this is not irreversible. If the Italian Football Federation can bring out young players, modern coaching, stadium infrastructure and the financial stability of the clubs, then Italy can once again become one of the top football powers in Europe.

I think I will stand with Gary Neville here and say Christian Romero isn't that good of a defender and he actually did not do very well in the world cup, infact the whole of the Argentine defense weren't as good as I expected.
Yes he has ability and also a good name but I haven't seen him as a top defender, Argentina has defensive problems that's why a player like that would even be starting for them in the first place, Argentina was carried by leonel Messi.

Even though inter is doing well in the domestic league, their squad dept is not up to the standard of challenging for the champions League. This is because inter Milan has an aging team which can't compete with the rest of the top teams in Europe.inyer should identify good players and bring them to the team to strengthen their squad if they hope to improving their champions League performance come this season. They have been able to bring in three new players to their team but I still believe that alot still needs to be done in the incoming season.

Inter Milan needs a improve on every area of their team, from the defense right to the attack because one of the things that made , inter to be eliminated in the champions League was their weak defense and also the attack which was not potent enough to scoring goals . For that to change this season they should identify good players to strengthen these weaknesses in the team.

Don’t you think they need squad depth as they will be willing to perform better in the Champions League since they are the only Italian team among the rest that can represent them well among other top leagues teams? They need to strengthen their squad more because if they win the Champions League, they will also be happy and this their current staff cannot win them the Champions League.

Moreover, Como is here, and other teams are trying their best to sign more players to strengthen their squad against next season, if Inter Milan rely on this current squad and fail to sign more, they might find it difficult especially if injuries start to worry them when matches are becoming much for the team. Signing one or two to strengthen is not bad even though they can still use this same squad next season.

Inter need to buy a lot of players this season because as far as we know Spanish club Real Madrid bought the team's trained defender Dumfries for 20 million euros, so they are now trying to buy the Argentine defender. However it is true Romero earns 12 million euros a year at the English club Tottenham but you notice this player wants a salary of 6 million euros from the Italian league club but even then Inter has not agreed yet but these two clubs have agreed on the transfer fee.

I have noticed that this Argentine defender played impeccably in the World Cup so if this player joins Inter Milan then maybe he will be the right replacement for Dumfries for this club in the upcoming Serie A season.

Cristian Romero's exit from Tottenham Hotspur this summer is but a matter of formality. He is also ever closer to sealing his next destination, with Inter ready to conclude negotiations.
