I tried searching for the best gambling stories and the ones that popped up were full of gambling recoveries. A lot of them highlighted of how gambling ruined their life but for some reason, usually one involving religion, they got better. I was expecting more of stories where a gambler won a significant amount. Extreme lucky kind of stories.

It got me thinking whether people think that gambling success stories can only be if you recover from gambling? Is that really the end goal? To rid of gambling as an activity?

Someone got addicted into something that can ruin his life but he stopped to be addicted to it. That is a good success story. The reason some people that supposed to be successful do not successful is because they are getting something wrong and that thing is affecting them financially. It is more than a success to to people.

It is good to gamble in a way that is responsible and not get addicted at all.

That's not the end goal if it's about success stories in gambling. The most of it is about the huge jackpot prizes that a gambler have won, I believe this should also be one to be considered as a success story. But I cannot deny that those who have once lost, addicted and then recovered should also be highlighted as a success story because of how they have went through and how they've overcome the odds that they've faced when they've gambled. It's not only all about money but also can be with everything that can have a happy ending for the story teller or the person who's shared their gambling success story.

You need to know OP that there are people who's major problem in life is their gambling habit, people who have tried severally to break free from that shackles but they always feel overpowered by it and whenever they gamble, they always end up making a mess out of themselves. Trust me when I say that the best success story or greatest breakthrough in gambling is breaking free from such a shackle and not winning all the millions. In fact, you'd be shocked to know that people who often find them in this dilemma would still end up being broke even after securing a massive win in gambling.

I think I've read a lot of gamblers who succeeded in life because of gambling, and one of the ones I seem to remember is the owner of FedEx whose company went bankrupt if I'm not mistaken, he gambled his last money in a gambling casino.

And because of his gambling casino play, he supposedly won $27,000 and this is what he used to start his company business again and it became successful
and because of gambling, his company was able to survive again because of this.

If you recover from gambling addiction, it's enough to call it a success story. When you also made a large win after years of winning peanuts and steady losses in gambling, it could also be considered a gambling success story.

If there is any user which I can recall about his or her gambling success story, it should be @GxSTxV.  I have read a story about the user here in the forum shared by himself and how he was able to handle and come out of addiction; such a story is a success story. Once you pull off from something which is as rough as stable losing and addiction, it should be celebrated.

Maybe you just haven’t looked hard enough, there are actually a lot of success stories in gambling. Most of them are about lottery winners, some are from poker, and a lot are from sports betting. Sports betting is the most attractive now since it has the biggest market, so naturally more people are interested.

Success story about gambling may not only have to do with wining for example how most gamblers hit a jackpot in gamble,  @_act_ gave a reference about someone who got into something that can ruing his life and later stopped to be addicted to it of course this is also a success story because I could imagine the life he would have been living by now, so success stories must not come from wining alone but once a gambler noticed some changes I mean the type of change that @_act_ gave reference of. Well if You're capitalizing on the wining aspect I think is very hard to find such stories, although there are some set of gamblers that hit big in gamble, but have decided not to make it well known to people.

Thank you for the mention. I really liked the topic about recalling successful stories from people's gambling journey. I personally believe that as long as someone enjoys gambling responsibly and either manages to win a good amount or fights and win a struggle with addiction, both are valuable types of success.

I would like also adding this, with my current mindset and experience, if I had to choose between winning a large amount while staying addicted or simply breaking free from addiction as I have now, I will choose the second choice every time. Addiction is really difficult as it slowly takes away everything good in your life without you even noticing. Sometimes it’s too late before you realize how deep you are, and even when you do the moment any sum of money comes into your hands, you might find yourself back at a casino playing for hours without knowing how you started again.

Gambling should be a source of limited entertainment, something that doesn’t harm you financially or interfere with your time and responsibilities. Each person who is still gambling for years, but never went through addiction, harmed himself financially, made sure to manage time and never chose between gambling and family: it should also be a successful story.

It could just be search issue. You know how sometimes, we look things up in our go-to search engines, and we can't find the things we intend to look for? I think you just need to be more specific in what you're looking for and/or switch to another search engine.

For instance if you're looking for significant amount wins. Try with "biggest wins or life changing wins in gambling" or something along the lines. There have been many big wins in gambling over the years, they should pop up.

The truth is that gambling has done more harm than good in the society as at large, we have more of people that have been damaged by it than people that got successful through it...to a lot of people gambling success stories are people who have battled this addiction for a long time and are able to overcome, they say that the only way to win is when you stop gambling and that's a fact...to me that's the real success story

This is a very good success story of someone who started getting addicted to something but he did not get addicted and came out of the addiction. There can be no better success story than this because if a person gets addicted to something, his whole life can be ruined. Yes, there are many people who fall from the threshold of success in life. Quite a few of their wins turned into misfortunes and at the beginning they became millionaires, after a few years they became homeless, there's a lot that happens... So actually the success story in gambling will never be an inspiration to anyone.

Because the odds of winning lottery are out of the odds given by any casino and odd providers, it's one in millions chances, thats why its always on the news. Knowing those average earner or low middle earner only or say mostly bet on lotteries, their wins is still so huge compare to what they spend on tickets or consider as lost on gambling.

As a compulsive gambler, being able to stop and stay away from gambling is a success for him and it is the ultimate goal. But for gamblers who consider gambling as a place to make money, they will feel successful if they get a big win from their bets.
