Because some people claim that they use AI for correction of sentence, Let me assume that out of 100% of forum users almost 50% is making use of Al both lower rank and higher rank users are making use of this bot to make their post to be read able or perfect, don't we think people who is using AI is cheating the forum, I believe that theymos or one of the admin have to address this issues of AI users that's gradually taking over the community

You're free to report any suspicious posts yourself or through the AI report thread. Usually, the moderators delete the posts and nuke the users if they're newbie accounts. AI usage is prohibited and from my perspective, the rules against it should be stricter, just like it's with plagarism, but I believe this is something that has been discussed before, but I'm not sure if anything came out of the discussion. Although AI is an issue on the forum, I believe that the frequency of AI posts has lowered significantly, due to constant reports.

You can use Quillbot or Grammarly to fix a few of your grammatically or vocabulary errors, but not to have it write or completely alter your text for you. We want to interact with humans, not AI chat bots, I could do that on ChatGPT if I wanted that.

Making use of AI is the same thing as plagiarism – no difference. As long as you are presenting an idea that's not yours to the public as your own, it's stealing.

But in terms of using Grammarly and other tools to correct punctuation, I don't see anything wrong with that. As long as the text is entirely written by you, it's not cheating, and no one is also cheating anybody by doing that.

Besides, if you are entirely and totally bad with your English, I don't think those tools will be able to help you unless you want them to write for you, and it's just some auto-correction.

There is no need for Theymos to address whether or not AI should be used in the forum. Passing off information or knowledge that is not yours is pure copy/paste which is not tolerated in the forum. As many as those that uses AI to make their own posts in the forum will continue to receive AI spam tag by the DT members and their posts deleted by mods. I don't think that AI users are taking over the forum because there are lots of genuine posters in the forum who are not using AI to write their posts. Making use of any tool to write your posts without giving credit to it is pure piracy and the community frowns at those who engages in such practice.

If you truly write your posts by yourself, it's unlikely that it will be detected as an AI but if you try to correct your grammars using any AI tool like grammarly, then it may likely show that it was written by an AI. The mistakes some users have been making recently was to write their own posts then activate some tools that automatically fix their grammars.
    As for the AI tools commonly used in the forum to detect AI texts are: scribbr, copyleaks, and quillbot, if these tools show 70% and above that your posts are written by an AI, just know that they are telling the truth.

Let me explained further, if you use AI on platforms like Meta and Google, it will give you links of the source it get the information from. If someone use them and not make the reference, that is plagiarism.

If you use those like ChatGPT, they do it in a way that you will not link it to any source which is the difference, but there are tools that will definitely know that it is AI written.

Using AI should be completely forbidden on his forum except to correct someone's grammar.

There is a level you get to and you would often be able to identify an Ai content post. This is not referring to forum ranks rather maybe time spent reading, writing and the likes. Also there are Ai content detectors and they function well.

There haven't been any unfair act of deleted Ai post, except I miss any and you can bring to my notice. This shows the likeness of the Ai claim always true.

Using AI is prohibited in the forum because it’s a shady behaviour and passing off someone’s work is called plagiarism which is a big offense in the forum. Using AI for grammar correction is not a bad thing but if you don’t know how to use it for that purpose, it is better you pass your message as you’ve written it because it’ll make you look more real and will be more understandable that English is not your mother tongue and you’re only trying to perfect yourself in writing with it.

I have also heard of other tools, not sure if it is Quillbot that can help you punctuate your writing but not change anything in your sentence, this will also help your post looks more presentable without changing any words in it. The truth is that many of this online tools that help you write or make corrections are AI embedded, you just have to know how to use them to help you present yourself better. Let them be your assistance in writing but not your mouthpiece in writing.

Most obvious ones can be found with a blink of an eye, it will be written with absolute perfection in terms of grammar, punctuation, and words that we may not use regularly but what is wirtten will not be anything new, more will be a generic response but as a wall of text that is the differentiating factor. But yes, there can be some false positives even by the tools tused by the community to detect AI users while most of them were right.

AI is a growing technology, the forum cannot fight against it and win. So, forum will have to gently flow with it. Theymos understands the power of technology and that is why he doesn't want to make hasty rules about AI. Also, I like his way of leaving somethings for the forum to handle. There is a thread by Nutildah for reporting AI usage and the thread is bringing results.

For people who are not fluent in English, they should find a good tool to translate their thoughts so that others can understand them easily. Transatle users have been considered less than perfect in grammar, then AI appeared and some people used it to improve grammar. I don't call it cheating, unless they use AI to reply to posts instantly.

Over time, many translation tools will likely integrate with AI, resulting in better translations. I'm not sure to what extent it would be considered an AI post if people were just using it as a translator. But so far, I'm pretty sure using AI as a translation replacement is possible, although I haven't used it yet.

If you don't have an answer or respond to a post don't bother to contribute in such discussions.

Plagiarism isn't just prohibited in this forum, everywhere in the world we have what is called copyright, it's applicable in almost all platforms so less not act like it's something new and needs someone to speak to us on what we already the truth about!

Guys who are using AI are just some people who in everything will always abuse whatever that is abusable. And for plagiarism there is punishment so the punishment should just be severed and case closed in my opinion.

I have never found this to be an issues while going through the forum and one must be ready to read and understand things first before they jumped into conclusions of making post. I don't know if I have also said this before that newbies should be doing more of reading than the way they jumped into creating post comments, that's not even enough but they go straight making irrelevant post. Whenever I comes across similar topic I wouldn't be hesitant to either report them to the moderator because as a student they expect to automatically understand the everything is in all their course outline in Just a day and began exams.

LOL bro, I don't know know if you did this on purpose or not. But that type of phrasing is one of the biggest giveaways that a LLM is doing the thinking in a post. "It's not just so and so—it's also this and that. To be fair, the other 2 detectors I like to use returned the post as human written.

So if a tool like Grammarly's "AI Assist" or whatever its called is doing that kind of thing to your posts, IMO, you shouldn't be using it. Its not just a dishonest representation of one's own abilities—its plagiarism.

There are translation tools which can be used in improving a users writing and never have the forum stood against it's use, but having to use AI because it wether or not you're in a signature paid campaign is absolutely prohibited in the forum. This is some to promote originality of thoughts among users. To help make the forum still have a natural embodiment in its discussions.

I just had to lay emphasis on this because, some newbies might read this and assume that it's only when you're wearing a pair signature then that's when the use of Ai is frowned at or considered cheating.

It is endless fight of forum rules against plagiarism, AI users because technology and tools will continue its developments and launches for community in free or paid versions.

It is better to have rules than nothing but there is no way to prohibit anything completely and at perfect execution practically. I think plagiarism and AI use will drop a lot if forum make KYC as a mandate condition to use a forum account. With it, farm accounts will stop and no longer existing reasons of using contents of other people or AI-generated contents and even Humanized AI-generated content tools.

There is nothing wrong for people to use AI when they post - AI is basically just a tool that can be used to find various information on the topic we want to reply to - but it becomes a problem when someone copy-pastes raw AI-generated content into their post, it is basically just trying to make them understand the context of the post/thread they want to reply to but it is actually the work of AI, it is simply not tolerated. This is a forum for interaction between humans, it is appropriate and should be that someone replies using their own style and using their own brain to understand the context of the topic they want to reply to. Why force yourself to use AI to create instant posts for yourself in the end it only endangers your account? think smarter, don't just want everything to be instant.

AI can provide you refernce link to the source of information you want to sure, it can assist you for a quick search, especially for those who dont know how to search the internet with the right keywords, by correcting spelling error and replacing it with the right keyword.

You see, AI can be very useful in so many ways but it is very wrong to copy AI generated text and paste in the forum. This is not something Theymos should say much about, the rules is the rules, no one has immunity over it.
