Skarais must have used the wrong words. People who are not fluent in English should rather find tools like grammarly or any text AI model to correct their grammar to make it readable and understandable. What this does is to correct spellings, punctuations and grammatical concord and not to insert any new ideas.

The time taken to copy a post, paste in an AI model, wait for generated reply, copy and return to the forum to paste is enough to read and reply organically. People doing it are just lazy and unwilling to learn.

I don't think the forum needs any data on her users ability to speak English. Here is not a kind of English learning forum. What matters is one's ability to communicate effectively in the forum.

Translator doesn't really add to the message of a post, unless a poor translation tool. In this case it can only eliminate the emotion in the post or alter the tone of the post.

In all, I do not encourage the use of translators, but I think using grammarly or any other tools that will refine some bad grammar and make it readable is not a crime.

No we need to know if that’s your real skill. That’s why there is a rule about it. You can’t use a translator and post in other local boards where you don’t know their language as well.

We have local board and English board, anyone who doesn't know how use English language to compose a text, I think such user should concentrate on local board, besides local boards are now relevant in the community, because using translator to make a post, the person is also cheating the system, because it will be difficult for a user to understand exactly the point of someone who is using a translator to make a post, secondly we need to know that not all translation that's 100% accurate, they most be a jumping of sentence and meaning, so I will say that this forum is meant for an average person who can read in English and understand and also reply with English language, the point we figured out now, is what makes some people to use AI to make a post

If you believe someone is making posts using Ai then simply report them here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456516.0) and move on. And regarding using tools to fix grammars, I personally wouldn't recommend those as they sometimes alters your own words. As a last resort you can only use the basic one, the minimal one that shows mistakes below the words, for example when we write something on the forum's postbox and it shows a little red lines.

You can use Quillbot or Grammarly to fix a few of your grammatically or vocabulary errors, but not to have it write or completely alter your text for you. We want to interact with humans, not AI chat bots, I could do that on ChatGPT if I wanted that.

Stopped using them after they integrated AI in their system. They were better without AI imo...

You had better add the previous sentence to the quote to understand the context:

I actually tested this and you are right.

I wrote an English post myself, translated it to German using chatgpt and then I used AI detectors on the translation.

None of the detectors said that is AI generated.

I think that's a problem for the forum rules because now I can go pretend knowing German and post in that local board without getting detected by anybody. I can write my original post in Turkish or English, convert it to German using AI and nobody will notice.

Somehow I thought even the translations could be detected but it seems that's not the case.

I'm pretty sure the detectors only work for the English language, which is why if the end result was German, its going to say "not AI generated". To be honest, I don't care about AI-generated text in other languages, at all. Probably because I don't speak those languages and don't visit those boards. Not sure how much of a problem that would actually pose, but we'll probably find out some day.
