Wow, this is a nice thread to help us family with places where we can easily spend our coins when necessary. This thread will serve as a reference for people that love travelling.

To keep the thread alive I made a little research and discovered Maldives but I am yet to see it in this list. Kindly ignore if it has been mentioned already.

Maldives is a popular nation in Asia that's known for its tourism. Tourism contributes heavily to its economic growth . You can spend your Bitcoin and other crypto assets in some of their hotels and restaurants.

Another place I found perfect for vacations in South America:

Mata de São João / Praia do Forte, Brazil

Close to the bustling metropolis of Salvador de Bahia (about 50 km north of the city), Praia do Forte is a well known coastal jewel in the Bahia State. Salvador de Bahía is close and has probably the most attractive old city in Brazil. It's also known for its picturesque Carnival and interesting Afro-Brazilian cultural events, where a lot of local music styles can be heard. I haven't found accomodation accepting Bitcoin in Salvador, but there are several options to eat and other shops accepting the digital gold.

Rosewood Hong Kong, many may already know about this hotel, but I am telling you about this hotel here that it is one of the best hotels in Asia and if we compare it in the world, it can be placed in 2nd position. I think those who like to travel more will probably accept this hotel and its beauty is essential and this hotel is full of beauty. This hotel is very popular in Asia and the food in this hotel is also good, I first saw this hotel on Twitter and later I did not know about its service, then I searched and found this hotel in Asia, it is better than other hotels and I like it. Although I have not been to this hotel, I am interested in seeing it in the video and I have caught the interest of going to such a hotel. This hotel has caught my attention.

Sorry for going a bit off-topic. This is not for food and accomodation, but I thought that it would be interesting to share. In my country (Philippines), there is a place called "Satoshi Barbershop" in Taguig, Metro Manila where you can pay for a haircut using lightning. I've actually been there last year and they used to charge 80PHP which right now is around 1,200 sats.

The government of Bhutan, a South Asian country surrounded by natural beauty, has launched a national crypto tourism payments platform in partnership with Binance Pay and DK Bank for tourists. I was thinking about good options to spend Bitcoin and international travelling is a quite obvious one: You don't have to care about currency exchange (at least not that much), and in many cases you bring precious Bitcoins into circulation to places away from the main tech metropoles.

Thus I start this thread to gather a list of cities and other places where you can travel with Bitcoin. The idea is that those who want can post cities and towns, be it in their own country or in locations where they have been, or whatever, where there is some Bitcoin acceptance. And add a photo from every location so the thread becomes a bit "visual" too

The idea is to show cities, towns and resorts where you can pay for your main expenses with BTC. There should be at least accomodation (hotels, apartments ...) and places to eat (restaurants, bars, fastfood etc.) which accept Bitcoin. Places with shops and ATMs are even better. Resources to check are for example BTCmap, Coinpages, and of course search engines, ChatGPT and friends etc. Important: If you want to travel to these places spending your BTC, double check the hotels and restaurants still exist and still offer Bitcoin payment.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

A vibrant metropolis with an immense cultural scene, and home to several Bitcoiners too. The long history of inflation and unstability has made Argentina one of the countries with most Bitcoin ownership in the Americas, and thus it's not surprising there are some hotels and restaurants you can pay with BTC. One can almost speak about a "Bitcoin district" in the city center, where you can find a Bitcoin-accepting shop in almost every block, and in total there are around 100 Bitcoin-accepting businesses. You can find restaurants, bars, Bitcoin ATMs, some few places for acommodation and shops at BTCMap here. The image shows Floralis Generica, a moving sculpture located in a big park, the perhaps most unique attraction of the city.

San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina

The city of Tucumán has about a million inhabitants and lies on the foot of jungle-covered mountains called the Yungas. It's a great place to explore Northwestern Argentina and has a lot of historic buildings, close to Salta, the Rio Hondo spas and the Quilmes pre-columbian city. This is actually the only interesting place in Argentina outside of the capital Buenos Aires where I have found both accomodation and food with payment in Bitcoin. The BTCmap location is here. Tucumán has about 20 businesses accepting Bitcoin, which is quite good for a city off the beaten track!

In Argentina you can also buy some gift cards with Bitcoin at Bitrefill, for example for the Carrefour and Dia supermarkets (at least Carrefour is present in both cities and many others too) and also some restaurants. See Bitrefill Argentina.

Always wondered how does buying a cofee with bitcoin will look like. Imagine paying for coffee with bitcoin and then waiting one hour for transaction confirmation.

I am to be the party pooper here. What are you going to do? Spend the bitcoin and save the fiat? That's not to mention that if you want to spend with bitcoin the options you're going to have to consume goods and services are going to be much reduced.

If you are hungry you can choose any of the restaurants on the street you are in if you are going to pay with fiat, while if you intend to pay only with bitcoin you will have to look in coinmap and you might have to go to the other side of the city.

You make a fair point spending bitcoin everyday situation is still quite limited compared to using fiat most place still don’t accept it directly so it is not alway practical for daily expenses like food or small purchases that’s why many people prefer to hold their bitcoin as a long term investment and spend fiat instead maybe in the future as adoption grows it all be much easier to use bitcoin anywhere.

Georgia is known for the Caucasus mountains and the Black Sea coast. It's capital Tbilisi is a very crypto-friendly city. We can see in this Bitcoin ATM Map that there is quite a lot of Bitcoin ATMs and Tellers around. There's also more than 100 businesses that accept Bitcoin and crypto payments, including hotels, supermarkets, and several other shops for accommodation and food, which can be seen in the BTC Map. South Korea

Goto Mall is a large underground shopping mall under Gangnam Express Bus Terminal in South Korea. If any traveler comes to travel, they can go to this shopping mall and shop and pay in crypto HTC and Bitcoin. Since the store is next to the bus terminal about 50000++.. people tourists and visitors, come here every day and shop. At first, they used to take direct Bitcoin payments but later they started taking HTC coin payments. If any traveler wants to pay in bitcoin, they can still do it without any problem. About 620 stores are accepting such crypto payments and are doing business nicely.

I found another city I have visited:

Košice, Slovakia

Slovakia's second city in size is quite small and cozy with not even 300,000 inhabitants, but surprisingly Bitcoin-friendly. With its quirky mix of medieval, Baroque and Commieblock architecture, its city center is really nice to walk around, see old churches and buildings, and visit cafés that look like if Stalin never died (at least I stranded in one of these when I visited this city in 2013). According to BTCmap a number of shops, restaurants, bars and also a few accomodation options accept Bitcoin. In the surroundings you can visit places like the High Tatra with excellent hiking and trekking possibilities and colourful little towns like the tourist hub Poprad. I liked the region very much, so I can recommend it to those who like to go off the beaten track!
