I'm not so fond of adding single restaurants and much less store chains unrelated to travel to this thread.

Bitcoin-accepting hotels, as they are much rarer than restaurants, instead are encouraged.

I would also focus on cities and regions and not entire countries if possible. Bhutan, Switzerland and El Salvador were already mentioned a couple of times. Some of the last posts did contain some interesting info but they also repeat a lot that is already known ...

Yes, I completely agree with you on this point. Because now many small and big restaurants or shopping malls are taking the decision to accept payment through Bitcoin and they are making it a reality. This is a very good aspect for a person. Because they do not have to bother with cash, they can make transactions very easily through Bitcoin and the transactions are completed very quickly. We may see such a picture in the whole world very soon. If this is seen in the whole world then it will be very good and will be very convenient for everyone.

There are several Bitcoin ATMs available in Istanbul city of Turkey where you can buy/sell btc and convert it into local currency (turkey). Detroit is city in Michigan and Michigan is located in USA. Recently, it was announced that fees and taxes will be accept in btc. Also there are few places where btc payment are already accepted like Chadd’s Bistro restaurant in Detroit where btc, lightning and other crypto are now accepted. There are also several bitcoin ATMs available Detroit where you can buy and sell btc eaisly.

Another city Vancouver in Canada has now become crypto friendly. In this city, btc is being accept in many areas like popular restaurant and cafes such as Laughing Bean Coffee, Wave House Coffee, Time Out Cafe, Funk Cafe etc. These are places that are crypto friendly use and in some areas bitcoin atms are also available for buying/selling.

Mérida, Mexico

Another place I spotted in Southern Mexico. With almost a million inhabitants, it's the biggest city on the Yucatán peninsula, even slightly larger than Cancún. In contrast to the coastal beach metropolis, it offers a lot for those interested in Mexican culture: the oldest Cathedral in México, several nice palaces and villas, a lively city center, theaters and lots of museums, among them the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya. 1. Manila - Phillipines

First, Philippines has beautiful city with name of Manila where people and culture of Filipinos make city more charming. It is one of most memorable place in Asia and now it is becoming increase crypto friendly as well. In many location across Manila Bitcoin payment are accept like night bar, hostel, retail shop etc. Several Bitcoin ATMs have also spot in Manila providing buy/sell services for people of Manila. Places like KosneyLand, Draper Startup House, Manila Metro, URBN QC etc and 400 small buisness in Phillipines accept Bitcoin Paymentas well.

2. Rome - Itlay

Rome beautiful city in Italy and Italian food is very famous in Rome. In this city, btc payment are accept in many places like rental car and travel services where people can book car using bitcoin. In South Korea, there is city called Seoul and after researching on several sites and social media. I found out that bitcoin payment are are widely used in many place in Seoul. Largest South Korea Mall, Goto Mall also accept bitcoin payment and it has 500+ stores which allow btc. In addition, there are mamy bitcoin Atms in different location where people in South Korea can buy and sell btc or convert into their local currency. In area like Sinchon and Myeongdong, many restaurant and shop allow bitcoin payment and there is Cafe Hub that also accept bitcoin. In German city of Munich, some bars and cafes now allow bitcoin payment and there are several Atms available in different location for buying/ selling btc. According to my research, bitcoin payment are also accept in Bogotá which is capital of Colombia. Many businesses and merchants like hotel, shop and service providers etc use btc as payment option. La Tortata bakery shop in Bogotá also accept bit payment option and  many supermarket offer btc payment as well. I was able to compile all the reported destinations that can be traveled by paying with Bitcoin, took some weeks and free time to look into every reports. I see very good places that i will love to visit, even those in my country like the George Residence, very fancy will consider a short time vacation when my bags are filled.

For members who will want to visit this thread, instead of surfing on and forth. A well compiled report will be easy for them to make their selections.

I was thinking about good options to spend Bitcoin and international travelling is a quite obvious one: You don't have to care about currency exchange (at least not that much), and in many cases you bring precious Bitcoins into circulation to places away from the main tech metropoles.

Thus I start this thread to gather a list of cities and other places where you can travel with Bitcoin. The idea is that those who want can post cities and towns, be it in their own country or in locations where they have been, or whatever, where there is some Bitcoin acceptance. And add a photo from every location so the thread becomes a bit "visual" too

The idea is to show cities, towns and resorts where you can pay for your main expenses with BTC. There should be at least accomodation (hotels, apartments ...) and places to eat (restaurants, bars, fastfood etc.) which accept Bitcoin. Places with shops and ATMs are even better. Resources to check are for example BTCmap, Coinpages, and of course search engines, ChatGPT and friends etc. Important: If you want to travel to these places spending your BTC, double check the hotels and restaurants still exist and still offer Bitcoin payment.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

A vibrant metropolis with an immense cultural scene, and home to several Bitcoiners too. The long history of inflation and unstability has made Argentina one of the countries with most Bitcoin ownership in the Americas, and thus it's not surprising there are some hotels and restaurants you can pay with BTC. One can almost speak about a "Bitcoin district" in the city center, where you can find a Bitcoin-accepting shop in almost every block, and in total there are around 100 Bitcoin-accepting businesses. You can find restaurants, bars, Bitcoin ATMs, some few places for acommodation and shops at BTCMap here. The image shows Floralis Generica, a moving sculpture located in a big park, the perhaps most unique attraction of the city.

San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina

The city of Tucumán has about a million inhabitants and lies on the foot of jungle-covered mountains called the Yungas. It's a great place to explore Northwestern Argentina and has a lot of historic buildings, close to Salta, the Rio Hondo spas and the Quilmes pre-columbian city. This is actually the only interesting place in Argentina outside of the capital Buenos Aires where I have found both accomodation and food with payment in Bitcoin. The BTCmap location is here. Tucumán has about 20 businesses accepting Bitcoin, which is quite good for a city off the beaten track!

In Argentina you can also buy some gift cards with Bitcoin at Bitrefill, for example for the Carrefour and Dia supermarkets (at least Carrefour is present in both cities and many others too) and also some restaurants. See Bitrefill Argentina.

Switzerland is often the first country that comes to mind when talking about crypto friendly regulations, and its open, business focused approach makes that reputation well earned. Bitcoin payments are widely accepted in retail stores, restaurants, and even luxury boutiques, with hubs like Zug and Zurich forming what is known as “Crypto Valley.” Notably, the Canton of Zug has allowed Bitcoin for government service payments, including taxes, since 2016, followed by regions such as Ticino, Zurich, and Zermatt.

The thing I noticed the most in 2025 and the news that caught my attention the most is that Bitcoin is now being accepted in various places around the world, from large hotels and companies to small shops or restaurants. Recently, a video came to my attention that a restaurant in the Netherlands, ‘Lestari’, is now accepting Bitcoin. It can be seen that probably the owner is  putting Bitcoin stickers on the shop front door. There are more such shops, shopping malls, restaurants in the Netherlands that directly accept Bitcoin. If someone goes to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, they don’t have to rely on currency exchanges, they can make Bitcoin payments directly because we have already learned that many places in these areas accept Bitcoin.

Good to see it moving beyond theory the Netherlands example shows a practical use case, tourists avoiding bad exchange rates and fees, if the payment process is smooth, it's a no brainer in international cities hope the infrastructure keeps up so it's not a novelty but a real utility.
